To “daringhart13”: That was one of the best and most insightful articles I have read about how ignorance and fear completely saturate the whole JW culture. Thank you for posting that link (http://darrinhart.hubpages.com/hub/Jehovahs-Witnesses-and-The-Chosen-Path-of-Ignorance). It’s truly amazing how people can be so fervently dedicated and blindly obedient to “God's spirit-directed organization” when in fact they basically no nothing at all about this apparently all-important, all-powerful organization! The WTS is really in effect yet another most poignant and intriguing psychological experiment in cultural conformity and mind control.

The Reason Why JWs Won't Leave The Cult Is Because They Won't Think!

No Common Sense (About Convention)
by EmptyInside inwell, the guilt trip worked in getting them to the international convention, even though, for some,it put their health at great risk.. i'm glad that an elderly relative showed some common sense and realized she couldn't make the convention.
but, people still treated her oddly about not going.. one of her friends, who had a stroke in the past, thought about not attending, only to get screamed at by her so-called friends.
she did go,but it was hard on her.

“EmptyInside”: “I'm glad that an elderly relative showed some common sense and realized she couldn't make the convention. But, people still treated her oddly about not going.”
Well, if she did go and attend, she just might have had an opportunity to touch the suit jacket of one of the GB members, or even of one of their top-ranking representatives, and be healed from all her maladies right there on the spot! Or one such “glorious ones” could have announced the opportunity for all ailing ones to come up and touch the edge of the stage platform – and be healed! See what she missed out on.
[That indeed be clever sarcasm. Yep. Sarcasm that be. Yep indeed.]

If the Governing Body Told You They Love You All Very Much, What Would Your Reply Be?
by steve2 inin a letter in the 2013 yearbook of jehovah's witnesses, the governing body sign off with the words, "we love you all very much".
these words were later echoed by one of the governing body in an address to french jehovah's witnesses in july this year.
these words sound so marvellously compelling and heartfelt - goosebump inducing, even.. imagine the governing body wrote these words to you or expressed them to you in person- yes to you reading these very words.

I could say the following:
Now, do you love all the thousands of children and babies killed/murdered worldwide over several decades by your blood transfusion policy?
Do you love all us decent folks who have died as a direct result of your little stint with not allowing organ transplants?
And do you love all those young folks who spent years in prisons, some having been brutally raped, due to your phase of not allowing “alternative military service”?
And what about all those poor unfortunate young people who have suffered severe depression, including those who ended up committing suicide, because they thought they might have sinned against the holy spirit because of a lengthy record of “sexual uncleanness”/“loose conduct” or even just masturbation – the distinct possibility of which you occasionally have explicitly implied? Do you love them too?*
* (Examples of subtle, and not-so-subtle, considerations of that distinct possibility: [Regarding masturbation:] “My father then showed me a few scriptures to help me see that I was not ‘too far gone,’ and then some more scriptures to be sure I understood the seriousness of my wrong course.” – Young People Ask, vol. 1, chap. 25, p. 182; “Hence, if you have a problem with masturbation, you need not conclude that you have committed the unforgivable sin. The key is to resist the urge and never to give up your fight!” – Awake!, Nov. 2006, p. 19; “Have You Sinned Against the Holy Spirit?,” “‘There is a sin that does incur death.’—1 JOHN 5:16.” – main study article title and key Scripture heading, Watchtower, July 15, 2007, p. 16; etc., etc.)

Thanks for the heads up! Could somebody please upload that full one-hour episode “Witness to Murder” to YouTube or maybe their own online shared storage? I live in Canada, and unfortunately it is not going to be shown up here. I just checked, and it is only listed on the American “Investigation Discovery” site http://www.investigationdiscovery.com/tv-shows/tv-schedule.htm but not on the Canadian version http://www.investigationdiscovery.ca/Schedule.aspx.
On the American “Investigation Discovery” channel, the episode “Witness to Murder” will be shown this Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. EST, as well as Thursday, August 21st at 12:00 a.m. (midnight) and Sunday, August 24th at 10:00 a.m. If somebody would be so kind as to somehow upload this episode somewhere, then all us folks up here in Canada (the “Great White North,” eh) would be extremely appreciative!
Thank you in advance. Take care down there in the Good Old US of A.

Do you think that the Jehovahs Witness religion would be better /worse if their were an equal number of male/female on the G.B.?
by smiddy inof course this is a hypothetical question , it will never happen .?
but what if it did , what do you think the society would be like if it did happen .?.
let your imaginations run wild .

Unfortunately, the WTS is really not hardly any different than the era of Mr. Misogyny himself, “Judge” Rutherford, who made his famous remark regarding women: “What is a woman anyway, but a hank of hair and a bag of bones.”
Woman may have, as “Paris” pointed out, “about 10 times more white matter than men do,” but, unfortunately for them in WT land, they have about zero times more erectile tissue than men. (As in, male exterior plumbing.)
Yes, folks, the WTS never was too synonymous with purely logical and intellectual reason!

“losingit”:
“The Trinity of Modern JWS:
Jehovah, the Father
GB, the Son
JW.ORG , the Holy Spirit”
Actually, I believe that your list would really be accurate if you were to switch the places of the words “Jehovah” and “GB.” It should read as follows:
“The Trinity of Modern JWS:
GB, the Lofty Undisputed Father
Jehovah , the Sock-puppet Son [who does what he’s told by the Lofty Undisputed Father, the GB]
JW.ORG , the Holy Spirit”

Remember, religions have always used one thing in particular to ensnare people: FEAR! Much of the human defects of character actually stem from fear; i.e., shame, guilt, pride, jealousy, anger, etc. Fear is negative and destructive, but unfortunately it can be very effective – and thus it has always been used and generously exploited by charlatans – especially of the religious persuasion – since the beginning of time!

I’m surprised that they didn’t bother to cover up the American flag up there under the lighting. I heard that in assemblies in the past, they actually did temporarily cover up or remove “worldly” flags, icons, or emblems.
Looking at the big “golden blue calf” (that whopping big, square “JW.ORG” Web site plug), all I can say is, So much for their unique teaching regarding the worship of icons – as in, from “no, we don’t do that” to “okay, let’s make this thing as big and plentiful as we can.”

To “JW GoneBad”: I like your list above, called “Currently in order of importance in JW world:” Only, you have the order a bit wrong – you would have to switch items #1 and #2, and then it would be perfectly accurate.

To “OUTLAW”: I love that cartoon picture above, with the “BRAIN CHECK” room. Except, it’s actually not accurate – because they would never allow a woman (female) to work behind any counter like that. That, as we all know, would take, not a brain, but a penis.
