Wisdom, they have eased up somewhat with adding the bookstudy to the ministry school and service meeting and reducing days at conventions. Maybe they've done so out of survival instinct, wanting to keep they numbers that still attend. I don't dream that they will ease up on their cultish mind control approach, but they might if they understood how many thousands they have lost because of it. They might if they understood the risks they are facing of even more people waking up and walking away from their grasps. Might. But then maybe not.

Just a pondering: if you're on the governing body, or high up at Bethel, and Armeggedon hasn't come yet? Might you realize that it's pointless to drag JWs and their families out to so many convention and assembly days per year? Surely they know one of the reasons so many of us have left is because we couldn't carry the crushing burden they laid on our backs, the burden of the meeting, field service, study and assembly schedules. Now, if only they can only figure out that the burden of thought control is causing thousands to leave, they could loosen their grip and stop causing such stress and sorrow.

Jehovah's Witnesses Say They Are The Most Educated In The World. How Would You Prove Otherwise?
by minimus inthey claim their schools, literature and teaching are far more superior than any "worldly" education.
how would you counter that belief?.

Dude, you don't even try to help anybody, why do you exists if your not here to help the other JWs?
It's perfectly okay for Minimus to be here for the fellow feeling and to discuss everyday and JW related topics with ex jws. This place is kind of like Cheers for ex jws.

Look at how many profoundly struggle to support themselves and their families when they leave the org.

CIRCUIT ASSEMBLIES KEEP SHRINKING IN SIZE - WAY TO GO!!
by steve2 inthe recent boe letter announcing changes to the duration of circuit assemblies was warmly received by congregations the worldover.
it was as if the brothers and sisters were already in the new world for, upon hearing this news, there were no tears at all.
instead, it is a humble acknowledgement from the gb of the mind-numbing, yawn-inducing 2-day circuit assemblies.. .

Assemblies were IMO an attempt to replicate the Jewish festivals.
Did they dress up in super uncomfortable clothing? Did they force their children to sit for the entire day, right down to the toddlers? Did they force crummy, unhealthy food on the Jews?
What did they do at the Jewish festivals?

Guys who genuinely like women, they are the best. That's along with BOTR's comment. I don't mean like women for the sex they can provide for you. You know, their breasts, backsides and genitalia and what you can do with them, being the only things you like, or that and being waited on hand and foot. I mean men who genuinely love the feminine gender and all that goes with it. Men who like women tend to be liked by women in return.

Sorry for the typo's what I meant to say is that dating is one way to get yourself into emontional chains.
This is true. That's why dating people you know is safer than seeking out people you don't know.
When you're not a kid anymore, you realize there is nothing simple about dating. Unless I know I would enjoy a couple of hours of someone's company, I'm not going to date the person. It's also good to find people who are truly after what you're after in dating. Do you not want a serious, long term relationship or marriage? Do you hope for it to be just light, enjoyable company? Do you just want to date with sex as the main goal?
I'm a person who thinks you cannot make Miss or Mr Right happen. You can't force a natural, good relationship with the wrong person. You will either click or you won't.
One problem I have found with men in my age group is that most of the single ones are divorced or widowed recently. Unlike young men who want to play the field, these guys can't stand the void in their lives and they want to replace the misses-- like yesterday. Some of them want someone to take care of them, mamma style. They also think they are falling in love, almost immediately, when really it's a simple crush on someone they find charming and attractive. They want to be committed, too early. It's pretty burdensome to have 5 people out of 6 think they are in love with you and want to delve into a long term. I'm not against a long term, committed relationship, nor am I against being loved, but it has to be with the right person, under the right circumstances.

Don't let your job interfere with your meeting attendance
by Quarterback inrecently, a public speaker brought up this point that i remembered being preached in the 70's.
when they bring this matter up, they always manage to give you an experience of how one person stood his ground, and got a great job offer, as a result.. what about the many experiences of ones that were not blessed?
i can memtion horror stories of ones that should have kept working their meetings..

We had good friends in our cong. The dad was an elder, the real life fred flinstone. He had to work 7 days a week for months. He had many years built up with Goodyear that he was not interested in throwing away. What did he do? He stepped down. He was a nice guy.
