This car will last fore more than 70,000 miles. I hear from some that if it's taken care of, it can last well over 200,000 miles. It took me 10 years to drive my last car 70,000 miles. I took some very long road trips in it and it still tooke me that long to drive 70,000.
There are a lot of reasons I finally chose the G6. MPG. I work with the New York Yankee pitcher Matt Thornton's mom. She told me today that her husband drives a G6 and loves it.

So, since I had no car to go searching for a car. I had no man to take me to look at cars in Detroit, which is across the state from me.
I found a car my mechanic said is sound and a good purchase. The suggested retail price for it is $8,380. I got it for $8369. There was a taxable doc fee for $99 and the sales tax was $531.13. For a car with a nearly perfect interior and body. Engine in good condition. New tires and breaks, no timing belt to change, that gets decent mileage, is comfortable, looks and runs great. I only had to travel 2 or 3 miles for the purchase. It's paid for. I like the way it looks. I'll be proud to drive it.
Scott, I would have been happy for you to have come to help drive me around looking for cars. You could have negotiated for me.

Scott, I put a lot of thought and research into it. I've been looking for nearly 7 months. I have been severely limited in the ability to go to look at cars. I've had to rely on friends to take me. A lot of cars were sold before I could look at them, because I couldn't get to them in time. This car is in what my former husband calls powder puff condition. The $9,000 included the sales tax, doc fees, title fee, tag transfer, etc. So I got it at below book value. It has no rust and new tires and breaks. It's in good shape inside and out, including the engine. It doesn't have a timing belt to change, which can be expensive. The fuel costs will save money over bigger cars, with lower price tags. The repair costs will be reasonable. If I take good care of it, hopefully it will last until I'm 70 or 75. Rust is a huge issue in Michigan. A lot of less expensive used cars have rust already.
Thank you, Sammieswife.
Scott, one more thing, I found some other G6s that I liked, but had no way to go look at them. Another thing is, some have a recall on the power steering. I found a lower mileage 2006 with the sport package, for a little less, but the dealer cannot sell it until the recall can be completed. Right now there is no remedy for the recall. I didn't have the luxury of putting off buying a car any longer. My car I purchased a couple of miles away. My mechanic goes over all of the cars at that dealer. He has confidence in the car.

The child is a victim of child abuse. The child can get counseling and choose a different focus in life, this is true. This is not to say that they child will ever completely be free of the effects. Sexual abuse leaves scars.

I can see the reasonableness of say Tennesee's 4 year difference* because it would be a shame to have a young person life ruined by a too ridged law reguarding age while you are just getting used to these new feelings and what not.
In Michigan the age of consent is 16. There is no similar age clause. Two 15 year olds are breaking the consent law. That is bad for the kid who turns 16 and gets prosecuted for being with his under 16 girl or boyfriend.
I am a theist, but even I couldn't believe Richard Dawkins would say something like the thread title. Though, I believe he is mistaken that he wasn't harmed permanently from what happened to him. You can get counseling, but it it always with you and it always affects you. It is weaved into the fabric of your being.
The irony of course is that many theist organizations seem to be the breeding grounds and playground for pedophiles.
Any place you have children, you will find adults who prey on children, young teens and older teens for sexual gratification. Churches, synagogues and the like are no exception. Police and medical workers, caretakers are always getting busted for child molestation and pornography. What does the organization or school do about it, when it is discovered, is what's key.

Gma, has your husband decided if the broken timing belt destroyed your engine? You might be needing a rebuild or a new to you engine. I hope you engine is not fried. Mine broke on the freeway the last time and on the exit ramp off the freeway the first time. My son in law rebuilt the top of the engine for me. I will try never to own a car with a belt again. It can be very expensive to change them.
DJS, what will you buy?
Sweet....Can I borrow the keys sometimes?
What are you willing to bargain?

I'm going to post more pictures later today. I have to take some more.
Did I mention they gave me a $1000 or one month warranty? If major things go wrong, this little local used car lot will pay half the repair and parts.

Hortensia, yes, we sure can relate to each other. It's so much better with a car. It offers a big amount of freedom.
Your new car is dandy. How many miles? Be sure to replace the timing belt at the recomended mileage.
I had a timing belt break twice on my last car, my eagle talon. The first time I had the engine rebuilt. The last time, I sold it to the mechanic for $200.
This time I specifically looked for cars with timing chains. My G6 has a timing chain. Yay.
The car had 103,000 miles on it. Roughly. They were asking for $8995. The car is in nearly perfect condition bodywise and the enterior is almost like new. The car has four almost brand new radials that I checked the price. They are $130 tires, radials/all weather. The breaks are almost new and wonderful. It's a base model but loaded with options. But it only had one key, a chipped key and no fob. The CD player pauses and there is one recall. So, I offered $8,500. They said, "No, because with taxes and fees, the car will be almost $9400. I said, "If you can walk me out the door for $9,000 even, I've got cash. I'll buy the car right now. I even have a tag." They said, "$9,100. I said, "No, because if I have to replace the CD player, have a fob and chip key made and go through the inconvenience of having the recall completed, that's expense and inconvenience. $9,000 firm." The two sales men went for a conference. They came and asked if I'd split that hundred and meet them at $9,050. I said well, there's no handbook for the car either. No, $9,000 firm."
I got the car with all taxes and fees for $9,000. I have no payment. One problem is full coverage insurance in Michigan is EXPENSIVE. The most expensive in the USA because if an injured person(s) needs medical care after the 2 year mark, they get it for the rest of their lives.
