when the internet was a novelty, sites like h2o sprung up featuring lengthy, detailed discussions about watchtower doctrine.. every aspect of witness belief was debated - and throughly refuted.
the gentile times, blood, parousia and the name 'jehovah'.
were examined and the watchtower ideology was cut to pieces.. .
Here is a question. If the numbers do start to decline, either slowly or quickly. Wont they then claim Love of the greater number cooling off. Now we must work harder, pray more, do more.
I may have miss understood this love of greater number thing, but that's what I always thought it meant. In the end, less and less people will love God. If I am understand wrong, can someone explain. And if I am right, don't you think they would say that.

i was df'd in '90 just as this was becoming a big deal and at the time i thought it was completely rediculous what with jesus probably having a beard.
it was one of the many things that led me to seeing that the gb make arbitrary rules and that the organisation has more to do with control than religion.
never quite understood what medical reason could there be for not allowing a man to shave
The one man I knew, he had such extreem dry skin, that when he shaved, his face would bleed. The winter time was really bad for him. So come cold season, he would not shave. I am not sure of other reasons. But I am guessing sensitve skin can be another reason.

I knew a really nice brother who was pretty much thrown out because he had a beard. The only reason why he had a beard was for medical reasons (he had a bad ingrown hair problem
I remember one brother had to get a doctors note as to why he did not shave. He was still publicly reproved. My oldest son started to grow facial hair. He, not I, was told he needed to remove it. We are talking peach fuzz here. Three strands out the chin. When I did quote about Leviticus I was told that is old testament. Jesus removed all the laws of the old testament, so we need not follow those laws.

here on the eastern seaboard of oz we've had some really hot weather - at least the suddenness of the hot spell made it seem all the hotter!.
another thing we saw this week was the rural roads around bethel chocked once again with tourist coaches full of bethel visitors who were taking advantage of the "privilege" of visiting the australia branch after the international convention was over.
. I even saw others display magazines in their windows or the NWT on the way to the convention and we would wave
LOL We would be driving down the hwy, and if we someone in a suit we would pull up and see if they were witnesses or not. Then wave and they would wave back. To see someone else on the way to the convention, always made me feel so not alone.
today was a good day.
saturday, no witnessing, no meeting prep, no skirt and no dubs, no rush to do anything in particular, went to the mall to get some things, bumped into my brother (non dub) and his partner and my 3yo neice, had coffee with them and hubby, chatted, came home, kelpie dropped by to visit, went grocery shopping with my neighbour, ......................just to mention a few things.

I had to talk to the elders twice as a teenager. Once a group of 4 boys had me cornered in the hall. I was by the back steps trying to get my coat. Since my mom and I were only studing, I guess they thought I was "out to get one of them" But there was 4 of them and one of me. Anyway, they had a meeting with my mom and me about they way I carried myself. The second time, two girls said they saw me smoking at the local strip mall. I was at school at the time. The elders got my mom to get the attendance sheet on me for that day. I did feel like "In your face" because I was at school. I wasn't smoking at the strip mall.

like all non-jws with jw families i have to endure constant pressure to "accept the truth" and their latest effort comes from "ammunition" contained in two articles in the awake of 22 january 2004.. the article starting on page 3 "god has a name" is supposed to present evidence that gods name is jehovah but i can see no evidence of this in the article.
in fact the article is quite balanced and clearly says on page 4 that ".....the name jehovah is widely accepted as the vernacular equivalent of the tetragrammaton".
this is the extent of the articles assertions.. i find nothing wrong with this statement but it is an entirely different thing to saying that "gods name is jehovah", even though all of the language used in the article is steering the reader to accept this thought.
And only very recently the R & F frequently claimed that it would be only Jehovah’s Witnesses that would survive Armageddon even though that bald statement does not appear anywhere in their publications
But in the live forever book it states on page 255: "There was just the one ark that survived the flood, not a number of boats. And there will be only one organization-God's visible organization-that will survive the fast-approaching "great tribulation". It is simply not tru that all religions lead to the same goal. You must be part of Jehovah's organization, doing God's will, in order to receive his blessing of everlasting life."
This is saying, join us or die in my mind.

So my point is this; the organisation does not always actually put in writing, in an unequivocal and unambiguous way, exactly those things that the JW’s teach verbally and I have found this countless times. Does anyone agree?
Yes I do. I remember a sister warning me about Harry Potter, and having those movies in my home will cause demons to come into my home. Maybe even molest my children. She used the Knowledge book. On page 112 it states,"All such present-day messages fromthe spirit world come from wicked spirits" and then she said, except for the GB, they are the only ones who still get messages. Now this was not written in the book, but a widly held belief.
