I flipped out on my JW mum - (Vent)

i feel ashamed of how i spoke to her - here is what happened:.

leading up to christmas she emphasised more than once how i shouldn't be celebrating.

she knows i'm part of a pagan religion now and she made comments about me being a "pagan celebrator" and she wasn't being nice about it.

You are so right. About once a week my mom asks again if I can just look past the "607/1914 thing" and just accept Jehovah will fix it all in the new system. Just hold on. So we talk until 1 AM. She reads scriptures about one thing, and then I counter. Sometimes I want to shake her and say, "You just don't get it do you?" But gotta keep the peace. I am lucky, I have a sister and brother I can vent to, and they so understand.(my sis. left 16 yrs ago, and my brother 4) If it weren't for them, I think I would have popped.

Sirona, sorry you said things you wish you didn't. Or if not what, but how. Hope next time it works better for you.

Witness parents?

do any of you have witness parents?

if so, how do you deal with them?

i'm not fealing really great about the way everything has turned out.

My father was never a witness. He was Catholic, so was my mom. She converted when I was 14, and took all 5 of us kids with her. She is still a witness. My dad has since passed. Now we live in the same house now. Makes for interesting 1 AM talks. After I get my children in bed, once a week we have battle of the scriptures. It lasts until 1, and then we retire for the night.

My Grandmother Passed Away :(

on monday at 2 pm, my grandmother peacefully passed away at the age of 100. .

her last words was when she was straining to see something that we couldn't see and she said, "roy???

" (my grandfather) and then she said, "mom???

i am so happy i have met so many of you that have similiar experiences like me, raised in org, pioneer, bethel.

also its so nice to have met so many young cool people like nos and doodle.. and to those that i made friends with due to any misunderstandings im glad we took the time out to be friends.. thanks to simon for the board.

How old is your "soul"?

i think i have mentioned this before, but i'm curious.

my girlfriend and i had a discussion with some friends about how old they felt thier souls were.

for myself, i have the feeling with alot of things in life that i have done them before.

our Irish mother and maternal grandmother that we both had "The Sight" when we were very little.

I remember my grandmother saying the same thing to my sister and I. Scary thing sometimes ain't it.(I know improper english)

I don't know know how old my soul is, but I know I'm tired. I don't think I can go another round. I like the thought of the dead conscience of nothing. I need some sleep.

I know when I was a teenager, the harder my parents tried to pin me down, the sneaker I got. I don't know if I would put a locater on them. They haven't done anything yet for me to need that. So I am just taking the wait and see aproach to this subject.

Trusting ourselves vs trusting the org

in my discussion with estee yesterday the subject of how the wts edits their own literature came up.

it wasn't until after i left that i began to realize the extent of these edits or that they even occurred.. an example i gave is how i could clearly remember having read something in a magazine.

i could recall clearly where it even appeared on the page even if i could not recall what issue it was in.

My sister and I were talking about the same thing the other week. She asked me if I found enough information yet. She stopped listening to the WTS a long time ago. She keeps asking me if I am done digging yet. I keep on telling her not yet.Since September when I started on my research, I have read so much, learned so much, and am reading and devouring everything I can. Remember those old school house rock cartoons. "Knowledge is Power."

Thank you Avishai. That sure was a lot of research. I do have one question. In the first article it says in the question part about "birth control, sterilization" but did not see anything in the answer. Was it there? Or since it did not pertain to the original question, it was left out?
