  I've been debating on whether or not to share this...but here goes

  for those of you who will be disgusted that i even attended the meeting, let alone allow my son to give his first public talk tonight, please, spare me the shouting messages.

  i take full responsibility for what i experienced this evening.

  yet, i feel the need to share this experience that has me enraged.

  He said it is obvious that someone spent time with him practicing his talk because he pronounced every word perfectly. He gave all the praise to my parents for supporting my son.

  I so understand what you are saying. I get a response like that from family members, when my children get a compliment. It's because they were raised in "the truth" is why they are good kids now. Forget that we haven't been in a few years, and my youngest was 3 when we left.

  So no tongue lashing here from me either. Their actions, responses, and what was said, was wrong. Not just because of what was said and done, but the motivation behind it. It seems to me they did it, not to benifit him, but to hurt you.

  IMHO, I hope that this is his not only first talk, but his last. Hope he gets out before he is too attached.

  i guess i should do this in some beginning way, i am new here and still learning my way around the site.. i was raised in a divided household, and my mom taught us in secret.

  when my dad found out the insuing religious wars pretty much marked me for life.

  but i was imprinted with the wt.

  sometimes i just don't know when to keep my big mouth shut.

  today i think finally said enough to get da'd.. for those of you just tuning in, a recap: about 2-3 years i came to realize everything i had been taught as a jw was a load of steaming turds.

  since then i have managed to fade away more or less, without incident.

  Normal Life.....

  i was thinking of the watchtower study as i was siting in church today.

  my youngest two children were in the front singing "jesus loves me, this i know", in english, then in spanish.

  they had these big grins on their faces.

  I was thinking of the watchtower study as I was siting in church today. My youngest two children were in the front singing "Jesus Loves Me, This I Know", in English, then in Spanish. They had these big grins on their faces. They were happy. They are accepted. They feel like they belong. They feel normal.

  Six months ago, my children never heard of that song before. While we attended the kh, they never felt like they were wanted there, now they are happy "normal" children.

  They, jw, are learning today, about normal life. Well, what's wrong with that.

  What are you, or your family, now doing, that is normal? What can you do freely, without guilt, that you never could before?

  since i'm relatively healthy, don't smoke, hardly drink (2 beers a day), and if i base myself on my grandparents and parents age, i think that i should live up to anywhere between 85 and 95. which means i should have another 40 to 50 years of posting here.

  My Dad died at 58, his mom died at 29. My mother is still alive at 63, and her dad lived to be 94. So who knows what I've got. LOL

  I just want to hang in there for 12 1/2 more years until my youngest is 18. Anything extra, well, that's just extra.

  Are they changing their view point on partaking of the emblems at the memorial? If you don't partake, can you have everlasting life?

  gina and i were reading over jwd when zach (my 7-yr-old) came in and asked what we were doing.

  i explained that i was reading about how a man came to be a jw, and how he managed to get out.
