I am a bad person. When I pick up my Mom from the meetings, I am in the parking lot. People wave, I smile and wave while saying, we worship the devil, or we don't like you and your type, or you do not have the truth, Jehovah is no god of mine, and they keep smiling and waving. They can't hear us, but it's funny. I need to stop, but I just can't.

Does anyone else flip off the Kingdom Hall when they drive by?
by Dustin inso it has become habit for me to go out of my way when driving to make sure i can give it the finger as i drive by.
i especially like to do this on the way to one of my favorite bars, especially on meeting nights just so people who knew me can see me do it.
i don't know why, but this has become a tradition of sorts.

A few "friends" drove me up there to reinforce how Jehovah provides. All it left me with is a feeling of sorrow. To work all week, and after all that, get $19/wk. Yea, you get room and board, but heck, after I pay my bills, I have more than $19. I hated when we ate. I really did. I kept being told what an honor it was to be as so-n-so's table. (I didn't know him, or why it was an honor, and I can't remember his name) Then I felt bad, because they are only allowed to invite X amount of people a year to eat with them. I looked at those tall buildings, and think, these people are working for a company that would never make it in the real world. Not for that pay. It was so sad to go there. And the one hotel that they bought and restored. All those people donating their time and expertise, for what? So god could own it? God can own anything he wants, he wouldn't ask people to give up time, money, etc, so that the society could own a historic building.
It was just sad. Guess the trip didn't have the effect they thought it would.

Please help me edit for correct facts. I want no misrepresentation here.
by AK - Jeff inthis is a draft of a letter to a dear friend - what do you think?.

Your letter sounds perfect. Just want to let you know, it may not have much of an effect on your friend. I have had my mother tell me, the Israelites made mistakes, but they were still god's people. You made excellent points, and I hope your friend does see what you are trying to say.

I was struggling, and I was told, "You never made the truth your own" So I started at the basics. I thought, ok, I love math, it's my strong suit, so I will go over the 607/1914 thing. So I googled info on 607, and that was the begining of the end. I was directed to this site, and it's getting better every day.

by jeanniebeanz intoday is my husband, rocker-dudes, birthday!.

Happy Birthday. Ya know, since you haven't always celebrated birthdays, just start counting from when you started. That would make him much younger than he really is, and gives him more years to rock.

"Tear Down the Watchtower Day!"
by 144001 inafter surviving what has been a rather depressing week, an idea suddenly came to me.
after being born and raised in the loathsome cult that is the watchtower, i was deprived of many things, including without limitation all holidays and the accompanying joy that goes with them.
as an adult, i've been celebrating all the traditional "worldly" holidays, but although i enjoy and appreciate them, i've noticed that there's something missing.

to choose our own holiday
I made up a holiday about 5 years ago. It's called Turducken Day. It's held on the first weekend in January. I make a turducken, and all of the other holiday foods. We do a polyanna <sp> so all the kids get gifts. I get wrapping and stuff half off because it's after Christmas. All of my family comes to this, and our friends. It has no political or relgious reasons, it is a family day. No one has ever objected to this holiday. It gave the kids something to celebrate, look forward to, and did the same for me. Now that we left, we still kept this holiday.
