this was inspired by terry's thread.... it is something that raises many questions about the jw belief system.. .
for one thing - the bible certainly explains all the details of the christ birth.
it certainly does not tell people to avoid celebrating it with feasts, customs, etc.
It IS NOT wrong for Christians to celebrate Christmas. It doesn't matter Christmas has pagan origins or any other negative anti-Christian connotation the WTBTS gives to it, and here is why:
Colossians 2:16 says, "Therefore, do not let anyone judge you about what you eat and drink or about the observance of a festival or of the new moon or of a sabbath".
When you encroach upon the conscience of another Christian, you encroach upon the soveriegnty of God, Himself.

time is sometimes a thing, and don't always have the time and patience to juice the veggies and clean up the juicer parts.
I have the constitution or love for raw bitter veggie juices, but sometimes enjoy mixing some fruits in with it to sweeten it up. You can go stronger on the fruits and lighter on the veggies at first. What happens is that as your body adjusts to better nutrition, the bitter taste goes away and what was once bitter to you, starts to sweeten on the tongue, and eventually becomes something your body and taste craves.
My desire for sugars is next to nothing. Live celled water rich foods balance the body's ph, reduces acid and increases alkaline and allows your body to heal, rids itself of cancer causing yeast and candida we find in the blood of those with a high sugar intake.
As your body's ph starts to balance out, the gagging will morph into a something akin to an infant suckling at its mother's tit.

It's DepaKote, and I'm a writer, not ex-JW in a tinfoil hat. I drink green veggie juice and read lots of books. I'm drug and alcohol-free, and if the use of metaphor and the hint of emotion envokes the idea of mental illness in you, well . . . :) since I am not a mental health professional, I tend to avoid diagnosing another human being's mental and emotional states based on a couple lines of prose :P
This piece of writing is a bit dramatic and poetic, but it's about the pain of going through change. If being stuck in the organization has caused anyone emotional pain, fear, doubt, and a longing for change and the courage to create change by deciding to do what it takes to move forward, taking that first step can seem very much facing catastrophic forces.

A local doctor once checked Job's pulse to see if he was still alive . . .
Satan called it hand-holding on a technicality . . . but Jehovah ruled that the gesture was not considered hand holding.
Job decided to work on his yoga poses . . .
. . . while David and Jonathan held hands . . .
. . . and held each other . . .
So, we know from Scripture that hand holding was sometimes frowned upon in the Jew System of Things . . .
and we gleen from the Bible that hand holding will not be allowed in the New System of Things.

it's been 12 years since i first read ray franz's books and the scales came off my eyes.
by that time i was in my forties.. since 2002 i went back to school and have worked with 3 very professional organizations.
but my biological clock is ticking away and while my peers are looking forward to retirement, i am only beginning.
Exit, I know exactly how you feel. I lost every single friend and family member I ever had when I left. My children, too. I reach out to them over and over taking many different approaches, but I am not even worthy of any sort of reply and it makes me physically, mentally, and emotionally ill almost to the point of not being able to function. I am nearly 50 and should be looking forward to retirement in a few years, but I have had to not just build new friendships and relationships, but I have also had to figure out what my (hidden and dormant) strengths and talents are the WTBTS had me repress so that I can start new businesses and plan for my REAL future. I am doing it, though, and it feels good. Much love to you.

Anyone who claims to have knowledge of a god, who claims to know the mind, intentions, feelings, and beliefs and purpose of a god . . . is a false prophet.
why is it that people who display self-righteous hypocritical behaviour are so blind as not to see what kind of people they really are?.

The difference between moral human beings and the god of the Bible is that if you, as a loving, responsible, moral human being were to walk into a room and find a man molesting a child, you would (I hope) intervene and do everything in your power to either prevent or stop the molestation. God, on the other hand, says, "hey, you go ahead and rape that child, and when you are finished, I am going to punish you . . . ".
You, as a compassionate, empathetic, just, and moral human know with every fiber of your being that owning another human being as property, i.e., a slave, is wrong under any circumstance. The god of the Bible not only sanctioned slavery, but also provided laws and guidelines for the buying, the owning, the treatment of, and selling of other human beings as property, the most common of which were historically women. It was neither God, nor His son, nor any apostle, nor any Christian who ever corrected or retracted this grave immoral concept written down in Holy Scripture, but it was humanists, secularists, and atheists who stepped up to finally assert the gross immorality of slavery and proceeded to abolish it. In spite of how impossible it is for God to lie, no matter how perfect and righteous He is, and no matter how every utterance that comes forth from Jehovah's mouth will not return without results, there is not one country or nation left in this world who thinks He got it right, and has therefore corrected his fuckup.
The god of the Bible is psychopath, a liar, a jealous petty hypocritical tantrum throwing dick who couldn't get over the fact that he fucked up when designed the earth and mankind, set them up to fail from the beginning, and all he has done since the garden of Eden is make matters worse. He is a racist, genocidal, thieving, child sacrificing sadist who is too weak and too feckless to so much as even prove his existence.
