  fulano, En un momento dado, is an expression I use in my everyday conversations! and i didn't know it came straight from dutch! its amazon how he integrated in barcelona and perfused his ideas and game philosophy into the culture... modern la liga and guardiola style is a legacy from him..!

  wow this is interesting!

  i think how much emphasis this puts on "loyalty" shows their is an issue.

  they're trying to plug the wholes as much and quickly as possible.

  fish, reptiles, birds and some mammals have an additional eyelid that is called a nictitating membrane.

  it is more or less transparent and unlike our eyelids it moves sideways across the eye.

  as well as protecting the eye it also helps with cleaning and lubrication.. a falcon diving at 200mph has good reason to want to want a pair of goggles to protect its eyes from insects and debris.

  Never Allowed to be Myself

  so my handle has a typo, it is supposed to be never allowed to be myself but i'm okay with that because it is kind of symbolic of my situation.

  as a born-in i have always had expectations forced on me, this is what you are to think, feel and do as a jehovah's witness.

  my earliest memories involve being upset that i would die at armageddon because i was bad.

  it's never late to be yourself... time ago, a professor told me; you need to be like the elephant, it has thick skin to resist, superb memory to not forget who hurt, and big tusks to fight back.. you have proven yourself resilient :)

  just watching the jonathan ross show and actor luke evans said he was raised a jw.

  he used to go from door to door in wales.

  it says on his wikipedia page he left the religion at sixteen.

  in your personal experience, do you think that the wt attracts needy types of people?

  over the years, my experience is that they do attract very needy, insecure, dysfunctional, types.

  i had an acquaintance that i just basically cut off.

  I think "the message" of the JW is entitled to make its effect on specially vulnerable people, the same people who would be looking for answers to questions like "is the world getting worse everyday?" "is there hope for the dead loved ones?" "is there a god?" "will wars end some day?" "why do people suffer?".... Well the "answers" comes with all the man-made JW set of rules and methods, and for some people that works for a while, and for some others joining were such a life investment and at a so high price that the only thing left to do is trying to convince themselves and others that it was "the best choice" and are living "the best and happiest life possible"...

  we born ins have a different way to this, because we weren't "attracted", it was all set up
