I forgot to respond to your querey about damages. The Human rights commission in my jurisdiction does indeed award damages, for legal costs as well as actual expenses incurred, and damages for injures/ distress suffered.

Furthermore there is a clause of ¨Extended Application¨ meaning that the outcomes of the case may apply to more than just this applicant (obviously some cases are unique) but the outcome of our cases would effect Mormons Muslims and a whole host of immigrant communities trying to throw off the religious restraints of primitive cults.

Bad timing - too bad for you- the deal is done and he has his receipt. Thats the power of a little piece of signed, dated paper .

Only our little document isn´t just to prove we just bought that anti-gravity machine we always wanted, it´s a legal claim, time stamped that we have alredy exercised a legally recognized human right and that no one is at liberty to inerfere with our decision.

Disfellowshipping can´t happen as we are no longer under the supossed ecclesiastic authority of the abandoned organisation.

Your comment regarding conduct is absolutely correct - a page or two ago I mentioned that (If you so chose) you should still be able to attend their Public meetings , but only as an observer, but no longer as a participant - remember , you have already finalized your document declaring that you have abandoned the Wt/JW religious structure, but that doesn´t mean you have abandoned your family who still attend. You still attend to show your support of those you love. (unlike the JWs who shun those they should love)

You are still labouring under the notion that this is about DFing - it is not.

It is about exercising a right without interference. We have a right to leave or change our religion without persecution. When you chose to leave a religion you formerly persued , their influence and authority over you ends. Our little document spells out when this happened - thats when the cults authority ended in our case.

If you prepared ahead and left in good standing (no judicial issues in process) you have left the borg. Do not engage with Hyenas who may proceed to make trouble for you. Take notes of their actions and the actions they incite in others - if they in any way incite others to single you out for exercising a legal right they are in violation of the law.

Now is the time to make them aware (in writing) of just how much you respect Human Rights and how seriously you intend to act if yours are infringed upon by the local Eldubs. There is an example of serious wording in a post above.

The local body will be unprepared for this preemptive approach, as most hoping to escape try to pull off a fade and ultimately get sucked into confrontations with hyenas while they are still ¨in¨ and thus in a position to be disfelowshipped.

Better to prepare your document to solidify your position as 100% ALREADY OUT and then do an appropriate fade - fast if you just want to be gone and slow if you want to hang around for the support and direction of those you love.

they are kiosks, small buildings either inside an area of a larger building like a mall or outside by themselves maybe on a major street.

not sure whats all in them but from what i can gather there a bigger fancier version of the book shelf on wheels that is so popular now.

Consciously leaving a religion is rarely a consentual act, but a private, individual decision often necessary for mental health reasons. This decision requires no ecclesiastic approval nor consent because your right to make this most private and individual choice is enshrined in most modern human rights charters.

It is the existance of these rights that have changed the face of modern social norms, color, creed, sexuality, origin, employment equity, housing etc have all been challenged and still being reformed to better human freedoms.

JW are most assuredly not free to leave their cult without WTs standard of hatred to burden their way to freedom.

I believe that challenges to this very specific issue - Freedom of Religion - shoved right in the faces of the local elders and extracting damages from the congregations surpluses normally sent off to New York will strike a nerve , while showing what hypocrites the localcongregations really are.

What are they going to do- ..fight against religious freedoms? ...demonstrate beyond a doubt that ostracism and shame are appropriate rewards for someone attempting to improve their own life and mental health? ...

I´m familiar (a little) with the Bear and Wollersheim cases regarding people who either wanted to remain with their cults or needed help (which he got) in stopping the cult from destroying him.

Giordanos included letter has some well worded warnings regarding legal mistakes the elders are more than likely to commit - confidentiality, privacy and the keeping and retaining of personal files. If you were a local janitor\ glorious one I imagine it was easier to accomodate these demands rather than look like a fool defending against doing what is rightand proper.

That person also made issue of membership and who determines it- and being baptised by non cong. members - any thoughts on those fronts?

But alas the whole issue of that letter is the reversal of what faders need to accomplish - this poor soul wishes to resolutely remain a JW, but on his or her own terms. Faders need to maintain their good name intact and forstall any public announcements containing their name.

Don´t complain, don´t question, don´t do anything to get the hyenas onto your scent. You cease to be a member of a cult when YOU say you are through with them. Thats were the notarized document come to play. They cannot take ecclesiastic measures against anyone who is not a member.

They know this- their rights to discipline you ENDED the very day you signed your document. You don´t need to show them anything - just go on about your life of freedom, with your document tucked in a drawer. Their power and authority over you is ended, done, vanished because you are no longer a member- and you can prove it.

You won´t need to dig that document out until one day they just can´t mind their own business anymore- sooner or later they are going to want to cousel, correct cajole you, maybe a CO visit like Gorby. Its up to you how you play your fade - fast or slow and you will win a claim for harassment, discrimination or persecution if they blunder ahead with usual WT policy. That crap is only for cult members to endure not free people.

Those who have prepared and quit quietly will never have their name read out at the hall. If such a person is pressured to submit to pending judicial actions, they simply display their notarized document asserting their freedom from the cult.

A cover page of this document might outline your own experiences and personal reasons to rationally reject the cult.

SAHS comment above gives an excellent suggestion in quoting Art. 18 of The Universal Dclaration of Human Rights.

Quote your regional charter as well as this is where the elders are erring as they violate your exercising of granted rights.

NOW the time has finally come to make these assholes clearly aware that you have rights, that you have ALREADY exercised one of them, and that you WILL be making a Human Rights claim if they interfere in any way whatsoever,( including using your name in any announcements).

If they proceed, they will actually be denying that you have these rights , or that they are exempt - both false premise on their part.
