yesterday some jw's came over to my house and were even being nice to me, most of the time if they do come by an elder or ms may say something but the others will not, its even hard for them to say just hello (how pathetic).
( they also do this behind my back as if i don't know).
i now realize by not being their i've handed my kids right over to them!.

a lot of people, ex-jws, believers and unbelievers alike, think that jw's are just a somewhat kooky brand of christianity.
is it possible to "try and follow jesus" and not be christian?
what exactly makes someone a christian?
agree!
you will not find one phrase in wt publications that say Jesus is mediator between God and "other sheeep"
They do not believe this.
A jw from "other sheep" in their view hope has exactly the same hope as a Buddhist or Hindu that lived years ago and never heard of Yah or Jesus.
They should read more carefully Isaiah 65:20 - fleshly people in the 1000 years Kingdom will grow old and die.
The one and only christian hope is inheriting the Kingdom and living in it as immortal beings, a new creation, like Jesus after resurrection.
why did the sacrifice have to be so brutal... i mean what value does that add to the equation of justice.couldn't he jesus have came down and just been slaughtered like a regular sacrifice without the brutal torture.why is justice served by brutalityanyone anyone bueller... lolnow you know i don't like to type for hours but this is always bothered me
It was Satan who maneuvered the things this way. Similar to what happened to Job. God withdrew at that point, He allowed that Jesus would be killed but it was not Him who directed the torture.
Satan was hoping Jesus would become unfaithful.

I believe you need to take a different approach.
Try to show the kids Bible verses that the jw's interpret wrong. The jw's have a few doctrines according to the Bible and some doctrines that are totally against the Bible.
A person who studies the Bible will never believe you if you say "God does not exist" but will think twice if you say "look what the Bible says here".
Even if you do not believe in God anymore, do some research on this to help your kids.

the site above even has a section dedicated to jw's - and where they are wrong

as witnesses we were truly convinced that we knew the truth about the dead.
they were truly dead, and we often quoted ecclesiastes 9:4-6, our favourite proof text on that topic, to prove the point.
that text reads (just in case you've already forgotten it - smile), (from the niv):.
The jw's are wrong on many doctrine, but I do not think they are wrong on the "life after death" separated from the body doctrine.
For reference, you might want to check other scholars opinion on this, too:

i`ve heard many pioneers claim that they are deserving of material things because they are the ones who make all the sacrifices.
one claimed that jehovah had made sure that she got absolutely everything she wanted right down to shelfs so she could put up pic`s of her family because, to quote "we are so deserving, we`ve made the sacrifice".
mind you this is the same sister who told me "it`s harder for me having my son d.fs than for a mother loosing her child in death".
"we are so deserving, we`ve made the sacrifice"
this sounds so much like:
The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed[a] thus: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.’ 13 But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God,be merciful to me, a sinner!’ 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”
just wanted to post here real quick, as many have joked about it.
we had an announcement in our cong last week about the upcoming one day assembly.
the title of the assembly is "imitate jehovah".
is there a Bible verse that says that?
Or are they heading for trinity? Imitate Jesus, then imitate Jehovah, then Jehovah and Jesus are one ....
so i've noticed lately that my wife seems to think that in order to have a good marriage both people must be "spiritual".
she thinks being close as a family is all about family worship night, field service and praying together.
i know where these ideas are coming from but it is very hard to combat them.
are you on the road to everlasting life?.

Begin by building faith based on accurate Bible knowledge --> do they have accurate Bible knowledge???
We need strong confidence in the Bible to choose a path contrary to the one followed by others around us ---> but why to they demand compliance to all the organization's believes and practices? even to those not based on the Bible??
If you are not fully convinced that the Bible is God’s Word, then examine the evidence (g 11/07 5-9) ---> and if you examine them, you have to reach the same conclusions as them, otherwise you are disfellowship.
Use the Bible to examine your current beliefs carefully ----> again, use the Bible, and if the Bible states the opposite of the watchtower believed, believe the watchtower!
Jesus emphasized the need for our beliefs to be based on truth [Read John 4:23, 24] ---> their believes are based on lies and misunderstandings .... and the measurements of pyramids, still jw's have to believe them as being "the truth"
Like the apostle Paul, be willing to change your beliefs when presented with evidence (Ac 26:9-20) - --> are they willing to do this?

Thank you.
The big crowd is not on the road to everlasting life, they should read Isaiah 65:20 more carefully. The fleshly people in the the Kingdom will not have everlasting life.. The only way to have everlasting life is by being a new creation as Jesus after resurrection is.
The big crowd actually has the same hope as the "unjust" people who died and never really knew Jehovah and Jesus.
