Have them put the meeting request in writing. Have your lawyer reply. If an elder calls or speaks to you in person, start asking about his finances, when he asks why you want to know, tell him you don't want to wast your time sueing a poor person. They will drop this like a dog turd!

Does having priveleges in the congregation mean you will have a successful marriage?
by hoser inafter reading about tight pant tony's rant about sisters only marrying ministerial servants lest their marriage will be a failure what anecdotal evidence do you have to support this.
the divorces that i am familiar with in the congregation show me that having priveledges in the congregation do not improve the odds of a better marriage.
i would say about 60% of the divorces had at least one spouse who was a pioneer, elder or ministerial servant.

I have two take aways from the zoned out meeting
by Sour Grapes inout of three hours only two things really caught my attention.
i was surprised there was no special annoucements or more new light.
the first thing is that we know that the org is having a difficult time having young males reach out to be a ministerial servents to carry microphones and adjust the height of the podium.

No joke! I saw that on a list of cult behaviours. Controlling access to sex/sexual partners/marriage mates. That is some crazy ass shit! I will admit some of the sisters are hot, but no more so than in any other group. The poor things only have the two day "meet market" to find a man, so they pull out all the stops.

consider a working man who works 40 to 60 hours a week and still manages to show up to all the meetings, participate, do all of his assigned work within the kh, but his ministry has slipped to 8 hours per month.
this same man is working hard to move up within the ranks only to get shut down without even knowing.. .

Suck ass your way into his service/car group. Get a condom, and put half a teaspoon of mayo/yogurt in it (you get the idea). When you get (or create) a chance, put it under the back seat so it's visible. Alternativly you could toss a packaged condom somewhere in his home (cloths dryer would work). If you were really devious you could mention to one of the other elders that you saw a woman not his wive in the car, before the condom trick, you would have to be sketchy on the details. It might not knock him off the horse, but the sh1t hitting the fan would be entertaining.

completely changes the meeting
Luke 17:21 "kingdom of God is in your midst" vs "kingdom of god is within you"
Not what I would call accurate, and a departure from other translations. Anyone notice any similar departures from the greek?

Sleep Problems
by lambsbottom inso, about a week and a half ago i finally realized that i am not longer one of jws, since i don't believe they are god's organization.. however, for two weeks, i have slept horrible!
my spouse thinks its stress.
i sleep all night but just don't feel that rested in the morning.

Exercise is good. Avoid blue light (tv, computer monitors) before bed. Generic benadryl is good for temporary relief, it's the active ingredient in many over the counter products. If you happen to be male, a round of horizontal bop usually helps with stress relief and sleep

Not so much jelousy as frustration. It's the reason I woke up. I was encouraged by the elders to hop on the "reach out" hamster wheel, meanwhile the bible studies and relative of the elders were on a moving walkway sipping coffee and chatting. In fact studies of elders were baptized and appointed after I got on the wheel. I couldn't get a strait answer as to what was the hold up. I lost it and tore one of the elders a new one, that pretty well sealed my fate. I hung on for a while, and then just faded. No one calls, the few friends I had, recently pulled out the shun gun (that's when my wife said "I'm never going back"). The elders come by once in a while usually during the CO visit. The lack of love, and no indication of holy spirit is glaring. I have children, grand children, and a loving wife to spend time with. No more "kindergarden theology" meetings, wasting my time, and gas driving around on Sat. morning. I'm much less frustrated, much happier. If I was still going I would be on anti-depressants by now. Next time I see one of the elders that held back my appointment I am going to look him in the eye, shake his hand, and sincerly say "Thank You !!!"

Failure
by backformore inso tonight just sucks ad i just want to vent to people who don't know me irl.. my wife and i have two kids.
i was still in when we got together but my wife never was.
when we actually got married i moved out of my parents place and never went back to a kingdom hall again.

I'm a lurker, and had to repond to this thread. I'll post my story some other time. To backformore, have you ever considered foster care? It would give you a feel for adoption without the comittment. It may even lead to adoption? Above all love the children you have, before long if all goes well they will give you grandchildren.
