Haha I would love to see those videos!
Its awful isn't it, I just cant understand why the JW's are all in a froth about this crap. My mother-in-law was like "have you heard we even have a T.V channel now!!" like it was the best thing EVER! You think it would make them think a bit and realise how much the society has become mainstream and dumbed down.
Its nothing like the religion I was bought up in and I think that's probably not even a good thing. At least they had a little bit of integrity back in the 80's/90's. The bullied kid thing is rubbish, it was always my worst nightmare to call on someone from school even thinking about it now makes my stomach churn! It puts you right in the firing line for even more ridicule.
Will be interesting to see what bilge they come out with over the next few months.

Be Honest: Were You Ever Jealous When Someone Was Appointed a Pioneer, MS or Elder?
by minimus ini knew some that were very happy for you and others, along with their families, that were envious of someone's advancement.. .

Agree with Magnum and Simon. Most I was like WTF?! Knowing the people personally really didn't help as I knew what they were really like (I'm so negative!) the fact that some were my age and younger made me think who the hell are they to give me guidence and counsel? Obviously I never showed a humble spirit lol.
Also I hated the fact if a aux/reg pioneer was missed off the list that was read from the platform they got upset and made a big deal about it. Obivously not doing it for show eh?

Has anyone else heard this about the GB??
by FeelingFree inok so me and my husband were talking to his mum again about why we are no longer going to meetings and got into another pointless discussion where she feels he needs to talk to an elder about his issue's blah, blah, blah... round and round it went...... the thing i wanted to ask was if anybody had heard that there wont be any gb after these one's die??
this is something she mentioned today and we have never heard of this ever.
so it means no more will be appointed and they will just die off!

Thanks everyone for your replies. Sorry not responded I have stinking cold and been lazy today!
It makes sense that she has got this confused with the generations teaching. I mean I get confused by it but you would think such a devote Jdub who claims it's her life would know her stuff!
So they are teaching that the 144,000 and the GB members go up to heaven before Armageddon during the GT like a rapture? My thought is if all the GB dies there are always people to replace them... but if they aren't of the anointed class the whole org would no longer be spirit directed would it? Therefore making the whole thing a farse as the claim of spirit direction is really what validates them within the rank and file. I guess like people have said it's just another lead up to making the "it can't be long now" claim seem real. It will be interesting to see what happens when they do all die and nothing happens.
JuanViejo2 - Your story seems to be a familiar tale that really makes me sad. All that time wasted...

TV.JW.Org - WTF is Wrong With This Guy? - CAPTION THEM
by passwordprotected ini've heard about his bombastic, overly patronising, cartoon-ish delivery before, but i'd never actually seen it...until now.
and i should add, this religion bears little to no relation to the one i left 6 years ago.. .

That was painful to watch. Lett seemed very robotic, his over-exaggerated gestures and facial expressions just reminded me of some kind a droid, a bit like a an obese version of Data. He leaves a lot to be desired....
It's all over Facebook according to hubby, they are loving it! I dont understand how people in this religion - sorry - cult cant see how pathetic, dumbed down and mainstream it has become even within my lifetime let alone that of my grandparents! Mindless drones....

A "My Book of Bible Stories" tale that I've always hated
by JimmyPage ini've always hated story #53: "jepthah's promise".
i always felt sorry for the daughter who had to spend the rest of her days at the tabernacle because her father made a numb-nuts promise to god.
who did he think he was, making promises for other people?

Thanks for bumping this post Crazyguy. I totally agree with you! The more I look into the OT the more I realise how horrific it actually is. I have always been bothered by all the scarafic and killing, I cant get it to marry up with this God of love I have been taught about all my life.
When my little one was born we started reading her the Bible story book, it wasn't long before we decided it was not suitable for any child to hear and stopped straight away! I don't understand why anybody would think it was a lovely book for the children? Morons!

Just before I left the org (it has only been a couple months) I was on facebook and friends with a "sister" who used to knit and sell her products. As soon as it was coming up to the convention prob from may/june time she started making all sorts of weird things to do with JW Org and "The Greatest Preaching Campaign EVER". Nothing knitted.... that would be extra crazy! But it was things like colouring books and work books for the kids to do during the convention, Notepads and pens, badges, bookmarks etc. Basically anything your could think of! I found it really off putting she was making money from this and people were DESPERATE to buy it! Thats when I knew it had all gone (even more) mad. Urgh

What does the building of Warwick HQ have to do with the Society's expectation of the end?
by Apognophos inthis topic is a couple years late, but i just wanted to get this off my chest.
i don't understand why people say that the society starting a project that won't finish until 2017 means that the end can't come until then, or that they don't expect the end before then.
this isn't a very logical line of thought.

Good point. Though I have never heard anyone say that the big A cant come until it's finished, what strange logic!
To be honest I have no idea why they feel they need to build a new HQ if "The End" is so close? Especially as the Brooklyn one has done the job for so many years. The same applies to the new London Bethel. If it is "just around the corner" as I keep being told surely they should make do with what they have and get everyone on the preaching work?
They are making soooo much money on the sale of these buildings and yet still asking publishers to cough up money to fund the project and volunteer time to build it. Corrupt is not the word....
