Geoffrey Jackson's Golden Apple watch INVESTIGATED
by C0ntr013r ini went through the original footage to get a good look at the watch.. from these pictures we can probably say that it is a apple watch and that it has a golden color.
the color on the pin is black, and the band is white, grey, silvery or beige.. .
the pin is in the exact place for it to be a apple watch.. only apple watch edition have the gold color.

Guardians of Doctrine.
by Pubsinger ini'm still working my way through the videos..... this has probably been covered before but had anyone else ever heard them use this phrase before?
not me... but it's a clever and as per usual misleading choice of words.. if they are indeed guardians of doctrine, they are very poor ones.
if so jws would believe the same thing now that they did in 1879 and we all know that's not true.

oppostate: Guardians Of Doctrine (G.O.D.) sounds like another effort to become more like the Catholics,
I think that Jackson may have picked up "Guardians of Doctrine" from working with the Catholic woman, Applewhite. Pope Francis has used the same phrase.
From an article dated Feb. 2014:
http://ncronline.org/news/vatican/bishops-need-not-be-crusaders-pastors-francis-says
Pope Francis on Thursday re-emphasized his vision of who should be chosen as Catholic bishops around the world, telling the Vatican office responsible for their selection he wants prelates who are "genuine pastors" and who will "argue with God on behalf of [their] people."
In a nearly 3,000-word text to the Vatican's Congregation for Bishops, Francis tells the office they should not look for bishops based on any "preferences, likes, or trends" and likewise should not seek prelates who are mainly concerned with doctrinal matters.
The church, writes Francis, needs "guardians of doctrine not so as to measure how far the world is from doctrinal truth but to appeal to the world to charm it with the beauty of love [and] to seduce it with the freedom bestowed by the Gospel." *
"The church does not need apologists of its causes nor crusaders of its battles, but sowers humble and confident of the truth, who ... trust of its power," the pontiff continues. Two popes/peas in a pod.
Lol! I showed a non-JW friend of mine the two photos of Pope Jackson and Pope Francis. She is totally convinced that they are clones.

truthseeker: With their hatred of higher education and secular achievement. If you threatened to bribe most witnesses what's the most you could expect to get out of them?
"Most" witnesses wouldn't be the target. "Most" witnesses don't have membership into the exclusive club called the "Watchtower Society". And, many of the "Society" men are educated. Not all of them dropped out of school at 15 like Jackson did.
What could be influenced, though, is doctrine. And, that doctrine just might make some important Society men, and friends of Society men, a lot of money. Jus' saying...

Something that's bugging me. Why didn't the ARC ask Jackson..
by defender of truth in..about child molesters being reappointed to positions of trust?
also, whether they would consider using 'worldly' expertise when assessing potential risk?.
why was spinks questioned as to whether the organisation should use professionals to assess whether a pedophile is fit to rejoin the jw community (or whether they are still a danger), let alone be reappointed.. and yet jackson, one of the policy makers in the org, was not even spoken to about pedophiles being judged as 'repentant' and even safe to be reappointed, by incompetent elders??.

I think the reason was exactly like you stated - Spinks had already been questioned about it. And, the Commission has the documents to show the WTS' stand on the matter. Questioning Jackson about it would have been redundant.
It appeared like the Counsel had a game plan and that time constraints did not allow for all lines of questioning to be persued and it didn't help that Jackson launched into a sermon whenever he was given half a chance. Jackson's bibble pontificating consumed lots of clock time.
I would suspect that if Jackson was questioned about some of the policies that the counsel didn't bring up, that he would have just replied "that's not my area" and then he would have found somewhere in his bibble to qualify how helpers are the ones who do all that while the GB is busy preying and making "scriptural" decisions.
Jackson could have been days on the stand if all lines of questioning were pursued.

defender of truth: "...about 14,000 congregations and over 3 million documents that have been scanned"
That is quite the database, isn't it? 3 million documents - on how many members?
Meticulous record keeping that contains secrets that could potentially harm those who the files are kept on. What a huge amount of control that represents.
I would think that anyone whose name was on that list would be particularly vulnerable to doing whatever they were told to do by whoever knew about their sins/crimes.
Huh...one of the JW elders actually said that if they knew about murder, they wouldn't report it. I wonder what kind of crimes besides child abuse are kept in those files and how many times that "sensitive" material has been used to remind the perpetuator of their loyalty to the Society.

The WTS has been keeping case files on child sex abuse for over 60 years that we know of.*damn...my whole post disappeared...
The WTS has been keeping case files on child sex abuse for over 60 years that we know of. In Australia, the files on 1006 abusers date back 65 years. And, none of those files were made available to the authorities until the Royal Commission requested them.
In the States, there has been reports that the WTS keeps a documentation of over 20,000 pedophiles. Those files have yet to see the light of day.
The WTS claims that child sex abuse is a sin, not a crime. Yet they have gone to the trouble of detailing, documenting, and storing all those files - to what end? Why would the WTS keep all that information on sex criminals for all those years? What purpose do those files serve?
Those files are internal security files. They contain evidence that has been collected and stored, always kept on file and available to those with access to them. Those who are members of the Watchtower Society. Those files contain evidence that is potentially harmful to the ones named in them. What those files represent is control. Control over the ones named in the files.
Just think of how much control someone would have over someone else if they held "secret" information that could be potentially criminal in nature. Many people on this forum and others have specualted that there are likley "higher-ups" in the Society who have their names in the "child abuse database" and what that possibilty brings up is how suspectible those who are on the list are to being controlled by those who hold the "secret" information.
The collection of sensitve and potentially harmful information, as a way to exert extreme control over the members of a totaliatrian organization, is a tactic that has been used by many political regimes historically, and the WTS is no exception.
The method that the WTS has engaged in, of collecting embarrassing and criminal details about its members, ensures a forced loyalty to the organization. And the WTS has been doing it for a looooong time.
Pope Jackson said "We don't run a spy network" and..."We don't run a police state". Well...he can call it a tuna fish sandwich if he likes, but....it smells like a skunk just walked by.

garybuss: I've attended Catholic weddings and many Catholic funerals including a couple that were High Masses at the Cathedral in Sioux Falls. As far as religious services, Catholic is my favorite. I'm extremely appreciative of my Catholic friends.
Me too. I must have some Catholic running in my blood somewhere. There is Orthodox for sure. The heavy rituals and chanting get me.
I have spent over 40 years being a religious tourist, in a way. I have attended services of everything from Ukranian Orhtodox to Native healing ceremonies.
The Ukranian Orthodox wedding I went to was over 2 hours long - they put my JWs sister's hour long service to shame. I was entranced - the bride and groom actually donned heavy crowns at one point and all the chanting and ritual was quite the performance - heavily scripted. I hardly understood a word of what was said and I almost passed out from the heat and the getting up and down kneeling for the prayers. The food and drink that followed was memorable.
A Ukranian Orthodox funeral from where I come from is an event that requires incredible stamina from all who are involved. I worked as a floral designer for several years and did the flowers for several.
The most outstanding experience came when an elderly Ukranian woman died. The entire family took over the funeral home for 10 days leading up to the funeral. The casket was open the entire time and they had a 24 hour watch - sometimes there was as many as 20 people in attendance, complete with babies crawling on the floor and order in pizza boxes scattered around the chapel.
It was the largest casket spray I have ever made, out of entirely red roses. The funeral director said that the church service was pure insantity - the service went on forever and ever, the family video taped the whole thing, there were candelabras with lit candles on each side of an open casket and when everybody filed past, weeping and kissing the grandmama, the lit candles would almost fall into the casket - the funeral directors had to grab the candelabras many times. It was a spectacle beyond spectacles.
And then...the old lady's son died the next week. And it all happened again. except half the time and half the participants. I guess they were all tired out. Including the funeral directors. They had just had time to get the carpets all cleaned in the funeral home and it was a relief that the second time around wasn't so bad. The funeral home tightened up their rules on family viewing after that.

Nicely done, Sailaway.
Maybe you will no longer be counted in those "20 million associated JWs" that Jackson bragged about at the Royal Commission.
