I have the rest of the form somewhere in my archives...too much stuff to wade through and find it right now. I will keep looking. The rest of the form (except for the additional UN wording) is almost exactly like the JW one.

I found this noblood card on a now defunct website that had been put up by the JW SABM crew - the site was called mybloodsite - you can access it through the wayback machine. The posting of the UN compliant noblood card coincided with the early years of the SABM when they were trying to establish bloodless surgery as the "worldwide golden standard of care"

devon and cornwall police have said a leaflet posted through doors in north devon isn't a crime – despite it advising gay people to "control their urges".the leaflet, entitled "how to harness your habits", was distributed in north devon by jehovah's witnesses and contains an article asking "what does the bible say about homosexuality?

"in it, the religious group states that "rejecting homosexuality" is completely different to "rejecting people of a different skin colour" and says their views are the same as people who "view smoking as harmful and even repugnant".it also compares gay people to animals, but says "unlike animals, they can choose not to act on their impulses".the journal was contacted by a reader, who wishes to remain anonymous, who felt "belittled" by the leaflet.

You are right, cofty...the leaflet doesn't really qualify as "hate" literature.

It is just simply misleading. The JWs are guilty of spreading misleading information, that's all.

And, they aren't the only ones who think that homosexuality is "just a bad habit".

The Bible condemns a lot of behavior, such as wearing cloth made of differing fibers and silly things like that. But I don't see the JWs spreading literature around calling the wearing of mixed fibers a bad habit.

splash: At my hall the elders routinely leave confidential medical information from the congregation underneath the photocopier lid. When they remember, it is stored in the safe. This is the same safe that the accounts servants and helpers have access to.
I could give you a list of meds the congregation members are on.

blondie: I did hear elders say it was difficult when some jw did not fill out the form but requested no blood as they entered the ER of some hospital without any paperwork...

Yeah...but...difficult for who? The patient? or the elders?

I think the difficulty arises because the HLC want to get their fingers stuck into the pie. They don't want the JW patient to be autonomous and in control of their medical care

I am curious as to what kind of security measures the elders have in place in order to protect confidential information. Where do the elders keep that information on hand? How is it stored? Who exactly has access to that information?

The Journal was contacted by a reader, who wishes to remain anonymous, who felt "belittled" by the leaflet.
"I completely respect other peoples' beliefs and people who disagree with homosexuality because of their religion do not bother me," she said.
"But when people actively seek you out to force their beliefs upon you and tell you that what you are doing is wrong then that does upset me.
"They have encroached on my life by forcing their literature into my home and belittled my relationship and my life."
Using passages from the Bible as, the text also says: "A person who has homosexual leanings can control what he allows his mind to dwell on, just as he would control any other wrong desire, including leanings towards anger, adultery or greed."
However, it also says "the Bible does not encourage prejudice, hate crimes or any other kind of mistreatment of homosexuals".
Devon and Cornwall Police looked at the leaflet and stated: "We have been made aware of some religious materials which have been distributed in North Devon.
"Whilst it doesn't appear to meet the threshold to be considered a crime, these have been passed on to our Diverse Communities Team to look into."
But Matt Horwood, senior communications officer for national LGBT charity Stonewall called the leaflet "damaging vitriol".
"It perpetuates the myth that you cannot be of faith while also being part of, or supporting, the lesbian, gay, bi and trans community," he said.
"Stonewall will continue its work with faith communities to ensure that all LGBT people are accepted without exception in their place of worship and within their own faith communities."

at a recent meeting there was a watchtower article about life in paradise.

they were saying that even when witnesses finally get there they will still be under the strict instructions from the elders and gb.

they may be given jobs that they will find unpleasant, also the preaching work will be ongoing because of all the resurrected people who need to learn about why they are given another chance.

And don't forget about Peter Sutcliffe and Rose West wandering around. Along with all the other murderers and rapists that the JWs are grooming in the prison systems

Blondie, I am of the non-vaccinated generation of JW kids. The ideas about vaccinations containing blood and a big no-no were still around when I arrived on the scene.

I am still not vaccinated. I have had the odd tetanus shot and recently, my first whooping couch vaccine. I don't respond well to vaccines and have had horrible reactions when I have tried in the past. Nasty.

I am not happy that I did not receive the vaccinations that were available for me when I was a kid...and that I still don't have most of them. All because of some stupid superstitious belief about blood
