  Wow. That is a hard sell with some questionable statistics presented. Not sure where they got those stats from or how that shows the benefits of PBM when the Dutch study I had referred to earlier had shown a much different picture. The Dutch are de-implementing PBM in their ortho surgery because it does not reduce the need for blood transfusions and is not cost efficient.

  Rather than respond to each promotional feature that is propaganda based, I just want to draw attention to this little piece of info at the bottom of your post:

  "(Hofmann, Ozawa, Farrugia, Farmer, Shander)"

  Hofmann, Ozawa and Farmer are Jehovah's Witnesses. I don't know about Farrugia.

  At least three out of five authors who are promoting PBM are Jehovah's Witnesses. Big names in Patient Blood Management. Jehovah's Witnesses - promoters for PBM.

  No wonder the blood doctrine has undergone so many changes and contortions over the past couple decades or so. The WT gets its direction from the needs of the PBM world - handy to have a trial group waiting and willing to serve.

  If a JW Came To Your Door How Would You Handle It?

  jehovah's witnesses have never come to my door but they have come to my girlfriends door.

  i have coached her as to what to say or ask but it appears that they always seem to come when she's not there.

  .....just curious would you get into it with a jehovah's witness at your door especially if it was someone you did not know?.

  I react in various ways, just depending on my mood. Over the years, I have employed all sorts of strategies with both extremes. A couple bad meltdowns that had the neighbors scared of me. And some calm and rational discussions (not many of those). That was in the days when I still cared about what the bible said.

  And I have been on various Do Not Call lists. Both respected and ignored at times.

  My slam dunk, though, happened at memorial time one year. I arrived home to find a Jesus tract in my door and a JW lady just getting in her vehicle. 3 other women in her SUV.

  I walked over to the driver's side and when the lady rolled down her window, I sort of leaned in so I could see all of them.

  I asked them, "Do you believe in Jesus?"

  "Oh yes...of course we do!"

  "Do you believe he shed his blood so the whole world would have a chance to be saved?"

  "Of course!"

  "Well...if Jesus gave his blood so we all could live, why don't you give blood? So other people can live? Don't you follow Jesus?"

  They were stammering and trying to find a bible verse when I walked away. The one lady was shouting something about Sacred!!

  That's the one I would use again if I couldn't think of anything else. Just for an opening maybe. And if I was in the mood, I would invite them in. Then we could talk about blood. I would make tea.

  apparently it was built for old testament faithful men to live in upon resurrection in 1925 such as abraham, moses etc.

  The money to build it (and Beth Shan) was Coca-Cola money. The wife and daughter of William Heath were JWs.

  I found my wifes new blood card

  i would like to say i am not in and my wife is a marginal witness at best.

  she doesn't say anything bad about the borg or live an amoral lifestyle.

  she just doesn't read the bible, or even the tracts anymore and generally has no clue about anything biblical or doctorial related.. i found my wives new card yesterday.

  she just doesn't read the bible, or even the tracts anymore and generally has no clue about anything biblical or doctorial related.. i found my wives new card yesterday.

  Steel: Something I find kind of funny while researching the subject is there is an old blood card that goes into much more detail about rights and fractions and such.
  It had a section about childbirth and mothers rights over the fetus and actually sited a Planned Parenthood ruling.
  My jaw just dropped.
  The only true religion sited a court case by the world biggest abortion provider just sited Planned Parent.

  The legal precedent that refers to an unborn child as a fetus is really important to the WTS.

  The reason for this was so that a pregnant JW woman could not be forced to have a blood transfusion on the grounds that she was endangering her unborn child. With the Planned Parenthood ruling, the WT lawyers could argue that she could die and not harm her baby...she was only killing a fetus. Even if the baby was full term.

  To allow a "fetus" to die because of blood refusal was/is easier for a lawyer to argue than if the courts regarded that baby as an unborn child.

  letter sent today to the ministry of justice... .

  spain bethel sent a letter recently last oct 3 interpreting that no elder or sm should request a certificate of sexual offenses as other churches or persons in contact with kids.

  again jw.org interprets the law to their behalf.. a group of elders in madrid has sent this letter to ask clarification !!.

  DoC: What Trump said can be heard in any locker room at any gym or country club every day of the week. Yes, it's "juvenile" and "sexist", but it really is the way things are and the fact of whether you like it or not will not change it. My wife's comment was "Don't these people already know that all men are assholes?"

  Not ALL men are assholes.

  In fact, I have read several rebuttals written by male journalists who are appalled that a man would blatantly encourage sexual assault. They don't like being lumped into the same boat as Rump. Lots of men would not speak like that, ever.

  It is more than juvenile or sexist. It is condoning illegal behavior.

  The difference between the "straw" and the other ignorant things that Rump has said...is that the "straw" is illegal. And, the "straw" affects 51% of all the other groups that Rump has insulted and it takes a slice of 51% of his own voters.

  Sexual assault is more than just morally degenerate. It is illegal.

  This is why WT doctrine makes my head hurt. It isn't logical at all.

  The biblical verse they are using to say that "the other sheep" should follow "the anointed" is speaking about foreign/rival nations coming into subjection to Israel. The other nations did not worship Israel's god.

  How does that apply to "the other sheep" who already worship the same god as "the anointed slave class and the Governing Body"? Are the "other sheep" to be viewed as rival nations? Are the "other sheep" in opposition to the anointed and the GB?

  At what point did "the nation of Israel" only apply to the "anointed slave class and the GB"? Does the WT's replacement theology not apply to all JWs?

  No doubt. You have every right to be pissed.

  Do you have children? If you do, your wife's decision (elder's decision, actually) has bearing on your child(ren's) welfare.

  Very concerning. Glad to hear you are seeing a lawyer. This would be good to get legal advice on.
