  well the shit has finally hit the fan here in chanda for the jws.. an hour long investigative journalist program called w5 went deep into the jws's pedophilia cover up problems that have been on going for decades within the jws religion.. .

  I realize that active activism upsets some people personally but...it was the aggressive activism that got the attention of W5 to investigate and air a documentary. And that is the first goal of effective activism - public attention

  they should at least dress appropiately similar to what a JW is expected to wear at meetings .

  Then it wouldn't be as effective - the activists would be doing the same thing they did before they left which was obeying the org's rules on outward appearance so that everyone around them was comfortable. Activism is about making people uncomfortable

  *there is 'stuff' going on in Europe right now concerning how copyright can be used...I haven't dug deep enough to comment on what exactly is happening but the timing of the WTS/org is fortuitous, isn't it?

  CTV's W5 has a solid reputation right across Canada and they have built that for over 5 decades.

  Why are there more sisters than brothers at the Kingdom Hauls?

  i have always wondered why there are more females than males in all of the congregations that i have visited?

  some of these females are in their 70's so maybe their husbands have died and women just live longer.

  or could the reason be that years ago men were the breadwinners and women stayed home to raise the children thus they were home during the week when the jdubs came a knocking?

  I don't buy into the "wired different" nonsense

  It is cultural.

  We live in a patriarchal society, regardless of the religion being followed and regardless of the culture that religion falls within. Inside of a patriarchal culture, women are groomed to be dependent and there is no better co- dependent structure than religion.

  Women gravitate towards religion simply because it offers them a source of perceived personal power. Religion is their "penis"

  if we eliminate all the controversial and confusing verses attributed to jesus we will get the crystal clear truth from him because his source was (1) god which can be seen from his habit of early morning talking to god in prayer (mark 1:35; john 8:1, 2) which would not have been for material blessings (mathew 6:8; 16:24), and (2) also observance of people.. 1) jesus who said judgment is based on whether we acted humanely or not (mathew 25:31-46) would not have spoken about god’s people and pagans (which means bulk of the things found in gospel had not been spoken/done by jesus).. 2) another important truth he said was about the real key to our happiness which he said is with each one of us.

  (luke 17:21).

  from his observance of history, he knew there are people from adversities who made great contribution to the world; and there are people from all abundance who lived a life of wastage accomplishing nothing; and there are people who are mixed in varying degree.

  In fact, nonprofits are encouraged to find creative ways to raise money and licensing deals are certainly on the drawing board

  The nonprofit industry has expanded lots in the past couple decades. Huh. You can even do university classes and get a degree in nonprofit management now, or so I am told. I haven't dug into it it much. I had my fill of the nonprofit sector a few years back.

  "Licensing fee" could very well mean "donation". You know... "voluntary" (wink wink)

  *by the way...it is perfectly acceptable for charities to collect royalties and licensing fees
