The Religion Of Rejection - And Now That Includes Me

due to some recent developments i find myself in a new place, and at this point i've lost all of my family and fri....oh that's right, i never really had any friends in the organization anyway.

just people that wanted something from me and a few people that i would invite to do things that occasionally said yes.

the recent rejections of me got me thinking, so let's take a rejection inventory.. i had to reject all of the holidays when my parents started studying.. i had to reject any worldly friends that i already had.. even family became rejected, and the new religion had some place in that.. i was rejected in school and bullied all of the time, not just because we were poor and i made good grades, but for jw reasons too.

I always knew that there are "worldly" people who have much decency and goodness in abundance - but of course " Oh they don't love Jehovah."

Well, we all know the stink of the branding JW style that apparently represents Christ.

I sense something extraordinary happened, so I have faith in the appearance of Jesus on this earth - and a divine element that forms the ABC of that faith.

Glad to be a member of the human race and seeing the lovely qualities in folk, and embracing that.

i'm writing this here because i need someone to talk to, and you're the only folks i know who will understand.

most of the time i think i'm a pretty happy and together person, but lately, i'll see something that reminds me of my family and i'll spontaneously start crying.

i miss them so much and my heart keeps breaking, and even though i have kind people i work and volunteer with, i feel so incredibly lonely sometimes.

Look at your courage and wonderful hope to make a difference.

Your loss of family and friends is NOT your choice - it is theirs.

Sadly, THEY endorse lies, cheating and emotional blackmail - probably without realising it?

Keep true.

In just a short while, my life had changed so much, so much from when I felt very broken.

I love that proverb which may be from Persian culture:

"this too will pass"

It can be applied to every single second of our lives - the wonderfully exquisite, the good, bad and ugly.

THIS video clip tells it all.The religion of Jehovahs Witnesses endorses and cultivates dishonest manipulation and coercion in families.This fits in with the experience of "Robert" which was repeated in two watchtower articles - he admitted that his family's strict observance of having nothing to do with him was the key in bringing him back.TWICE that story was repeated in consecutive years. I LOVE the writing department and he GB for being so transparent about their filthy tactics.How bizarre they don't see it, don't see how utterly wrong it is. It's disgusting things like this that make me so glad that I removed myself from the influence of such "association".Having said that - I had no family to lose.......what an utterly miserable mess to be under the control of men who are clearly unbalanced and proud to enforce a culture of blackmail.

Isn't it funny?

This place where "logic" for some says that there cannot be anything more than what we know, experience etc.

Yet, for me - logic adds up to something quite different.

I see history as giving us hints ( no matter how poor the detail) - the story of Jesus, the story of men (Buddha eg) who delivered something that was not just about eating, shitting, procreating with no purpose but to survive physically.

Something major is going on it seems to me.

Is that spirituality?

Perhaps dear fellow traveller, keep in mind that we are all on a journey.

I know nothing. The greatest minds, the most entertaining minds. they know nothing either.

The fact we quest and strive to know - surely that in itself is the beginning of an answer?

Every myth, every story reaching back into our ancient beginnings, through many cultures and civilisations - the same story.

The story being that this isn't all there is.

Resurrection.

Incarnation.

After life.

Humans - We just can't let go - can we?

We lost something that we still all hope for, grasp for.

I just want to start over in making my way in this "age" - and I'm not afraid of time.

We have had that question thrown up in book studies - who would you like to meet brothers?

Always the answers centred around ancient patriarchs/ prophets.

No-one ever said Jesus. You'd think that would be our number one desire - to meet the focus of our love, Jesus.

But that has been wiped from the JW mind and heart.

Again, even if any faith is a load of junk, surely the Christian faith should have it's focus on Christ. To be with him. To have him with us. A glorified resurrection, a glorified physical/spiritual universe that isn't forever drifting into decay.

Thats what it's all about folks.

But nah - give the kids "pirates". Capture their little imaginations.

Capture being the operative word.

Do you guys recall the article for kids with an illustration of a young boy teaching a resurrected "pirate" - you know, that really irked me.

Whether you are an atheist or a believer, it's clear that a child would be thrilled by the notion of meeting and teaching "pirates".....this kind of crazy lesson appeals to their imagination and.... For want of a better phrase..... Material minds.

Imagine the watchtower asking us to dwell and meditate on an eternity in a new creation with Christ.

Look I'm not trying to preach - but really, whatever your beliefs, it's clear that a truly spiritually Christ-focused hope is not the foundation for the WBTS religion.

It's members dwell on the excitement of meeting historic people ( as if their history will matter in a new world!) and it's members have been known to eye up current real estate yearning for the day when it belong to them.

Such truly spiritual hopes! And even if you think any "hope" is ridiculous, isn't it clear how skewed the WT hope is?

Does What We Say Here Or In Person Really Help JWs To Get Out Of The Religion?

if we are in the congregation, do you think our comments or questions actually reach elders or others in the congregation?

do our comments on this board affect witnesses to the point of questioning their faith?

Who is the bad christian, the one who questions a teaching, or the one that throws out and calls names his brother for questioning him on anything at all?
