This thread is for proof that God exists
by juandefiero inhowever, i haven't found any evidence to support that belief.. have you?
if so please, show me the evidence that god exists, and i will believe along with you.. criteria:.
(1) you must specify which god you are talking about;.

Just threw away...
by stephanie61092 inso even though i don't drive much because public transit is so good where i live (and parking is a living nightmare), i always had a paper taped onto my glove box that said "no blood transfusions - jehovahs witness.
see legal documentation in wallet.
going through this "wake up" process as been a very crazy, emotional experience.

When it registered in my little brain that fractions come from stored and donated blood and were a conscience decision then it became clear that blood can't be that 'sacred'.....simple.
Then as fink pointed out - there came the realisation that no life is sacrificed or taken in order to donate or receive blood - and blood is just an organ - just cells.
And the daft explanation of fractions being OK because it's like 'cake' -as in fractionated parts only become blood when mixed together - yeah, but WHOLE blood was withdrawn from a human body and possibly stored prior to the fractions being developed.
'Abstain from blood' - those men in Brooklyn have a lot of answering to do.

Animals were created without needing Toilet Paper ... but not Man ... Why???
by RubaDub inmy dog and other pets do their "business" and run away and are happy.. man does not have that luxury.
any thoughts on why animals were created with the "poop and go" capacity while man has to go through more steps?
was this perhaps an additional issue that god added on when adam and eve sinned (such as eve having significant more birth pains)?

When did the first human decide to wipe their bottom? At what point did the smell of our and poo in general become nauseating to us?
Why do animals appear indifferent to the smell.....or even interested and attracted...I can't remember ever wanting to sniff another human's bum - or any bum for that matter.
Why I am not content with just being impregnated and left by my mate?
Why am not like the majority of other animals and have all these emotional needs? How does that help me survive?
Why does human offspring require tender care and a complex range of attentions?
Why do human Mothers have such complex and intense feelings for their children even as adults? Why don't we just move on as we observe in other animals?
Questions, questions.

Only a few days ago I was entirely lost and without hope the rug was pulled out from under me
by elderess inonly a few days ago i was walking around the house in a mindless wander thinking if i needed to seek professional help.
then i got the courage to seek the comfort of complete strangers on the internet and found a world of support here on this website.
thank you simon and whoever else has made this website possible.

Your husband must have felt such a relief to finally download his own concerns and doubts.....he truly has a partner now.
i can't help thinking it's especially tough on the men, they are either 'appointed' as an MS/Elder or considered to be a waste of space....qualities such as gentleness, kindness etc are not what enough to be considered spiritually mature.....

It went against the scriptural suggestion to draw closer together 'as the day draws near' - and I know many of us were puzzled....and the "book-study" had been sold to me/us as a critical meeting as this would be our safe 'go to' when the shite hit the fan.
And it was whipped away, I loved my group - we all grew close....and the feeling of mutual care was wonderful.
Interestingly, other churches have 'life groups' in members homes and these are viewed as central to the congregational life (at least it is at our local baptist church which I have visited occasionally) - I went to a life group meeting at someone's house, I was impressed with their togetherness and caring support, they prayed for individuals needing strength and courage through difficulties, offered help to each other and made plans to give pratical assistance ,they discussed a bible topic - food and drinks afterwards....
I was suspicious of the decision to cut the Bookstudy group - a niggling intutuion told me the reasons were not about our welfare, but about keeping control, breaking up the possibility of too much closeness.....
As I haven't any family in the org - I really appreciated the 'family' that was our Bookstudy group.
I have to laugh now, when I remember that the TMS was held up as our 'training' for speaking boldly, especially when the inevitable time came that we'd be thrown in front of the courts......yes, that's what was said.
After watching the performance of WT reps, including Jackson at the ARC...I suspect the TMS didn't them help at all....unless it was to speak without frankness, honesty and humility.

Do you still believe in God?
by FormerlySandL ini never thought i would admit it, but i don't.
i might superstitiously have some kind of doubt but digging a bit deeper in my heart i really don't believe in god.
as a human i could never just sit and watch people be tortured, live years of abuse, suffer from illness and disabilities and all the other awful things people have to endure day after day without doing something about it.

Hi Liberator,
Sorry, am scrolling through my iPhone - could you post link to quotation site?
A brief expression from a noble mind can be uplifting, stirring and sometimes challenging and thought provoking....
A glass of fresh water :-)

Why Do Intelligent People Believe in God?
by cantleave inone of the most common thing thrown at atheists is - lots of intelligent people believe in god.
this darkmatter 2525's video is an excellent explanation as to why very logical people possess religious belief systems.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y201qzddzbg.

Did your God spontaneously come from nothing then? If not then how did he get there? Your 'logicalness' creates a lot more questions than it answers.
Excellent - I'm all for questions :-) That's when things can get really exciting. If I question why are there so many pointers toward creative evidence, then, even if I haven't found the answer, I'm still willing to 'search' or say 'as yet I don't know how and why' It's really OK to suspect there is a purposeful creative force - and it's OK to keep the question door open!It doesn't make you a weak minded fool - honest!!
