To Dubs and Newly Ex-Dubs
by Farkel ini'd like to do a little informal survey.
i'm wondering how many pieces of literature are actually distributed to the public.
not how many pieces are reported placed, but actually placed.

.this tread does not deserve to be MINIMUSED as worthless and/or too difficult to calculate.
Every year I get to take out the leftover trash from my wife's efforts at saving people by placing these
magsrags. In our house at least 5 mags get chucked where they belong for every one that gets placed.I once made the cheeky suggestion that once a year all "the gang" should root out all the dusty back issues and just chuck them in peoples screen doors. This way I told her the placements for the cong would go way up and the visiting CO and DO would be very impressed. For some reason she was not very impressed with my idea.

Damn you guys. If CJ reads this, she'll find out what the real meaning is.
I work for a firm that has a super politically correct agenda. We had a meeting to inform us that we were not allowed to use the term"happy hump day" as SOME PEOPLE thought it was referring to smut, sex and all those nasty things. The penalty could be firing we continued. The person or persons that caused this commotion were allowed to complain anonymously so no discussion was allowed on the subject.

Back from the Memorial......Special Announcement at the end....
by ScoobySnax inthe special announcement read at the end was an invite for any interested ones (tm) to ask if they wanted a bible study.....and that a special meeting will be held next sunday in all the congregations worldwide, and an invite was given for all to attend.
i loved going and was good to see all the brothers and sisters again, the po who gave the talk made a bee line for me straight after the closing prayer, straight off the platform (i had to stand as there were no seats) and asked to speak to me, and directed me to the back of the hall, i thought here we go......jc convening shortly......but no he said the wt society in london had contacted him as i'd wrote them asking for the magazines, and he would be happy to drop by and had done, but never found me at home.
so we arranged a date for him to call next week.. the hall was packed, and from my standing point i had plenty of opportunity to have a scan about, despite being horrified that their were brothers there who were betting looking than even me ( in my newly bought outfit!

Memorial - What are people actually thinking during it?
by asleif_dufansdottir ini had posted some of this on another thread, when i thought it might be fun to have a thread of "what is actually going thru people's minds" when they are sitting there at the memorial...
"i don't care what mom says, i'm never going to this dumb thing again.
she could at least let me have my gameboy if she's going to make me come to these dumb things.

I made a post under "Friends" and it doesn't show up there
Hi Poppers and Welcome,
It is possible that after you made your post in friends and tried to view it that a cached page from your browser loaded instead of a new version.Refreshing the page in internet explorer is done by holding down the CTRL on the keyboard and then hitting refresh at the same time on the top view menu. Hitting F5 should also do the same.

I laid down a very simple rule: If you shun me, don't expect anything from me.
Gee...This is my thought or to express it biblically "Do unto others as they have already done unto you" (Also known as f**k um)

I guess it is just hitting me that shunning really is a completely unloving and uncaring act
It is really a question of control. Once you have signed up you are in for life. You can never leave. To be DF'ed or DA'ed doesn't end their control of your life. They control your friends and family. They can and will try to punish you by their control of others.
I know of a case where the person was DF'ed over 50 years ago.The person went on to lead a happy and productive life...except family members still shun them after all these years.I can think of no other religion that is so unloving and uncaring as them.
Even if you tried to quietly fade away you would have to keep looking over your shoulder for years to come in case some one caught you doing something against their rules.
Most religions if you no longer wanted to be associated with them would just take you off their membership rolls. They might even wish you success in the future. They would not practice the vendictive, controlling shunning of the WT.
The WT in many ways reminds me more of a bunch of Nazi's than god's chosen people. They will never change as fear and not love is the only thing holding this org together.
