Most would not even look at you let alone take a hand out or talk to you.Remember that at these conventions everyone is under scrutiny from fellow dubs,elders,and a passing CO or DO. Parinoia runs rampant.Fear is in the air.

my opinion: if it's not, then we've done nothing other than join another religion (the "anti-wts-ism" church just around the corner, praise god).. if it is a half-way house, then there comes a time when we must move on.... or are there other good and sufficient reasons to 'stick with it'?.

The thing about half-way houses is that there are people who are in them.. and people who run them.
When the need is there JWD is there to help you through the tough spots.
When you get out the other side and you see the org for what it is MANY posters stay.They don't need the Borg and have left it behind but they can see the needs of the many who are still trying to come out of "Babylon the Great?. I give these "apostates" a lot of credit for the help they are providing and try to be like them whenever I can.

the 2 jw convension-halls in the netherlands have now a bank/credit-card accespoint to give contribution to the wts with your bank or creditcards.

I believe this will be a change that will come soon to the WT. It's a easy way to rake in the cash and not have people think about it too much. How convenient it would be to have a set amount to be withdrawn each month.(can we say tithing here)
It was not too many years ago ...OK a lot.. I am an old guy...The WT in Canada sneered at the new computer technology. We will never turn you into just a number on some data base...we will continue to use little plates?? to send out your subscription because we think of you as a human being and not just a number. Fast forward a few years later...when they could suck in someone with computer tech to upgrade for them and everyone is now on a computer data base. Nothing but a bunch of BS.

Are they going to have to rerun an old and out of date book for the next year and hope that no one notices??This would not be too hard to do. Do they have a book that maybe could be recycled again?? I liked the old Babylon the Great book from 1963??. No one could understand the questions or the answers. It was Fred Franz at his best.
It might be a good choice because any Dub that was starting to think for him or her self...well it would put them right back asleep.
