The story isn't "wrong", dear mp (peace to you!)... nor was it corrupted (although many stories in the Bible are). I mean, that all of the details aren't there doesn't mean it's wrong. Even so, the question was asked. A response was supplied. If you didn't want to know the response... why read the thread? If all you want to hear is that the story is "wrong"... why bother to even ask or consider that there might be a different response? Why bother to consider any response other than what YOU believe the answer is? I mean, you "know" what you "know"... right? So why be SO concerned when what someone else knows differs from what YOU "know" (or, more truthfully, think you know)?

A very interesting FACT as to this historical account, dear S+G (peace to you, my dear!) is that the NT wasn't even written when these "noble-minded" folks were "examining" the scriptures. So, the question is... just exactly were they "examining"? The same historian that told us of the "noble-mindedness" of these... recorded what was considered, by CHRIST, as "scripture":

"... beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself." Luke 24:27

"They said to each other, 'Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?'” Luke 24:32

"... he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about mein the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.' Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures..." Luke 24:44, 45

How, though, do we know that he was only speaking of these as "scripture"? Well, if we don't have faith enough to ask him, Christ, directly... and hear what HE says... we can look to what the writer of the account attributed to "John" (but really written by Simon the Leper/Kanaan/Zealot... know to most as "Lazarus," the brother of Mary and Martha and the disciple whom my Lord dearly loved - John 21:20, 24; 11:1, 3, 5, 35, 36) tells us:

"You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me..." John 5:39

The Beroeans, then, were "examining" the "scriptures": those "writings"... by Moses, the Prophets, and Psalmists... which such received while IN SPIRIT ("in spiritu", "in spire," "inspired")... and were TOLD to write... and did so as they were borne along by His spirit... which BORE WITNESS TO CHRIST. Including the Law... and its features, all of which bore witness and looked forward to Christ, by means of whom it received its FULFILLMENT (2 Corinthians 3:13).

UNLIKE the Beroeans, though, we have the opportunity to not only be MORE "noble-minded", but even ROYAL-minded. Nobles are people of high station, but NOT persons of ROYAL station. Only the Kings/Queens and their direct heirs (children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren) are "royalty." "Nobility" are those of the PEERS of royalty (siblings, cousins, etc.), but not royalty themselves:

The noble-minded Beroeans allowed themselves to reach toward understanding by examing the scriptures. However, that will only grant so much understanding. Why? Because the scriptures are how God spoke to our FOREFATHERS: through the Prophets, including Moses and David. NOW, however, for those who would be royal-minded... because they are the HEIRS of the KING... and thus, destined to be kings THEMSELVES some day... the Most Holy One of Israel, JAH of Armies... who is the MAJESTY, speaks to THEM... through His Heir Apparent, His SON, the HOLY One of Israel and Holy Spirit, JAHESHUA, the Chosen of JAH (MischaJah):

"Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last daysspeaks to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things..." Hebrews 1:1, 2

Of course, some belive the "last days" meant the last days of Jerusalem before its fall. And, in a physical sense, it did: Christ came to Israel, literally, and spoke to them for God. HOWEVER... although the PHYSICAL things have been fulfilled and had been fulfilled by the time the letter to the Hebrews was penned, including Christ having come in the flesh and spoken in the flesh to men OF flesh (the "man" one is on the OUTSIDE)... all... the SPIRITUAL fulfillment had not yet occured. It began after that fulfillment, starting with the outpouring of holy spirit at Pentecost 30 CE... and is still occurring now. It has not yet been FULFILLED. Because by "spiritual" I mean him coming... as a spirit ("I am WITH you, ALL the days")... and speaking... AS a spirit (Hebrews 12:25)... TO the spirit of men (Proverbs 8:4-7; John 10:1-5, 16, 27) - the "man" one is on the INSIDE (Psalm 40:6; Matthew 23:25-28).

May those here who ears are of the ROYAL "house"... hear... and get the SENSE of these thing. And may those who want to BE of such "house" but lacking such ears be given them, if they so wish... so as to hear, when the Heir Apparent... and his Bride... say to YOU:

"Come! ALL you who are wishing and thirsting... take 'life's water'... the holy spirit of God, the MOST Holy One of Israel, JAH of Armies... which spirit is His ROYAL BLOOD... by means of which any who WISH it can receive an adoption... into the Household of His Kingdom... "Israel"... which blood is poured out from the innermost parts of His HEIR, His SON... the HOLY One of Israel and Holy Spirit, JAHESHUA, the Chosen One of JAH (MischaJah)... FREE!"

AGuest-Why is killing the son of Pharoah considered righteous because Pharoah was warned? If Pharoah was the problem, why not just kill him, instead of making his son pay for something he didn't do? Visiting the error of the fathers upon the sons, I suppose.

The latter reason (visiting the error of the father on the son) notwithstanding, dear PTN (peace to you!), I explained in my post above (and note, wasn't just Pharaoh's son, but ALL of Egypt's firstborns, including firstborn daughters... and firstborn livestock):

Because... Pharaoh... and his people... considered him a god. It was not the man Pharaoh whom JAH went up against, but the god Pharaoh.

From the POV of a man who considers himself a god... as well as the people who follow him because they consider him a god... those they consider enemies aren't to be shown mercy. So, neither Pharaoh... nor his people... showed mercy on Israel (Pharaoh certainly didn't go out after Israel by himself!). As a result, not only did Pharaoh lose his life, but that of many of his people, including his own child.

This shouldn't be too hard to understand... and certainly not something to blame God for... at least not, any more than we blame man for. Which we don't. I offer the so-called "Arahitogami," Showa Emperor of Japan, Hirohito. He was a man who declared himself... and whose people considered and revered him as... a god. Both, to the point of acting against the U.S. during WWII. During that conflict, Hirohito showed no mercy: he not only attacked the U.S. but sacrificed many of his own people in doing so... people who went willingly (or sent their sons/dedicated their daughters, etc. willingly)... because they were following their god. The result? The U.S. dropped the A-bomb on Hiroshima. While Hirohito escaped that event... a great many of his own people did not. Including people who may not have even known what the heck was going on, let alone took part it in.

But, again, in some eyes, such were nothing more than "casualities of war.' An inconvenience. Just as some other deaths (like abortion, but certainly not limited to that) are the results of what some consider an "inconvenience."

[And, again, I don't have an opinion on the matter... one way or the other. And I certainly don't give a HANG so I most certainly am NOT shaking in MY boots about some blowhard "seeing red" on the topic. If someone said to me they were against it, I would say that my position is that what another does with their body is none of MY business and if they must answer it will be to God and not me. If someone said to me they were for it, I would say then they certainly can't have a judgmental opinion as to when children are put to death in other ways because their really is no difference: a child is put to death. If they wanted to argue about the viability of a fetus I would share with them that what I received from MY Lord is that just as with plant life... i.e., so long as there is a viable embryo in the seed, life starts at the beginning of germination, when the seed splits and the embryo begins to form into a seedling... the life of a human starts the same exact way: when the seed... or egg... splits and an embryo begins to form into a fetus. Which occurs at the moment the seed... egg... is fertilized (with a plant, it is when the embryo takes in water). Now, whether they can receive that or not is entirely on them - I wouldn't care one way or the other, because the only one I can keep an eye on is myself. I am my brother's keeper, yes, but not his judge or jailer. I digress.).

And so, it was not the MAN Pharaoh against whom the MOST Holy One of Israel, JAH of Armies, came; it was the god "Pharaoh." A god... that did not show mercy to True God, JAH of Armies... by not showing it to the PEOPLE of that One: Israel... and THEIR sons. In persecuting Israel, the god Pharaoh... and his followers... were persecuting God Himself.

So, He (God) asked, and asked, and asked... politely, respectfully, kindly. To no avail. So, then He warned, and warned, and warned. Sort of like what the U.S. is doing with Iran. But just like the U.S. will feel itself justified if it MUST finally come against Iran (NOT saying it will be, not me, no sir!)... so, too, the Most Holy One of Israel, JAH of Armies, WAS justified in coming against Egypt. Because Egypt showed NO mercy to JAH... and so none was shown to it.

If man, then, can see it as righteous when HE acts on behalf of HIS people... how ever could the MOST Holy One of Israel, JAH of Armies, NOT act on behalf of HIS? What kind of TRUE God would NOT act? Would that not be UNrighteous?? The MOST Holy One of Israel, JAH of Armies, is merciful, yes. And slow to anger. AND abundant in loving kindness. But He is not a coward.

What, though, of the GOOD people of Egypt, those who knew Pharaoh's treatment of Israel to be wrong? Surely you know: they joined and so left Egypt with Israel.

Had he shown mercy to Israel mercy, Pharaoh would have been shown mercy. Him AND his people. Again, because to the extent he did it to the least one of Israel... he would have been doing it to JAH. He not only failed to show mercy, though. No, he took it step farther. Even after all that he had brought upon his people, even after sacrificing the firstborn of ALL of his people, including his own son... he STILL set out after Israel so as to bring them back under HIS yoke of slavery.

Bad decision.

The truth is that we DON'T "need" to preach, dear Mr. Freeze (peace to you!). Even if none of us did, the rocks would cry out. Sharing the truth about God and Christ (notice, I stated "truth") is not because some religion, book, or other human said you should (a LOT of other "stuff" said to BE about God/Christ is, though).

Sharing the truth about God and Christ... is the result of two (2) things: love... and holy spirit, the blood of God. Jeremiah explained it quite well:

"For the word of JaHVeH has become for me
a reproach and derision all day long.
If I say, “I will not mention him,
or speak any more in his name,”
there is in my heart as it werea burning fire
shut up in my bones,
and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot." Jeremiah 20:8b, 9

The spirit... is in the bones, dear Mr. F. And the bones... make blood. And the it is the blood... that speaks. And for those who speak the TRUTH about God and Christ... it is the blood of God... holy spirit... IN such one... that speaks. And it speaks the TRUTH... about Him, the MOST Holy One of Israel, JAH of Armies... and about the Truth, His Son, the Holy One of Israel, JAHESHUA, the Chosen One of JAH (MischaJah).

Thus, is not the one speaking... but the blood of God, holy spirit, that is IN such a one... that is speaking.

Find me the word "Christ" in the bible before it mentions Abraham.

What would seeing it in the Bible prove to YOU? You don't believe the Bible has any truth in it, so...

But here, try this:

Now, I know you're going to try to play your usual can't-dazzle-'em-with-brilliance-so-gonna-try-and-baffle-'em-with-bullock-feces "games" and say, "No, I said 'Find me the word 'Christ'... before it mentions Abraham, so that doesn't work!" And so, if you need to play that childish semantical game, feel free. The point is made, though, whether YOU recognize it or not. Actually, you're the one who's math... and reading challenged, EP, because Christ existed before Abraham. But I'm thinking that since "douche" is your new word learned for the day, you're probably just having another bad day. 'Cause it's really an "I'm really having a sucky day" kind of word. Sorry for that, truly. BUT... no need to worry unnecessarily - it can pass. This bad day and every other one, too. And all of the reason(s) therefore. All you need say is "Blessed is he that comes in the name of JAH." You know, leave of your "Israel-ish" contending all the time and just, well, submit.
