i realize there are pages and pages of studies regarding cults and cult mindsets, etc., but i am not going to inundate you with such but rather try to keep this simple.

I dont usually comment on your threads but I thought it was a pointless,insensitive and downright rude comment directed at Cofty and certainly would warrant an apology which I doubt you will give, probably just another 10 pages of justifying yourself. Grow up FFS.

And I can stand by what I state on this board, regardless of the untoward motives others wish to apply to me because they don't understand and/or have jumped to some poor conclusion (while NEVER looking at their own, which they even sometimes admit on and offboard is board is borne of a hatred they can't even explain for someone they don't even know). Again, I used you to show how ridiculous it might be to simply believe what a child said. Notice, I said "might." Depends on the people involved, which is why I wouldn't necessarily run to the authorities right off but want more information. I don't know you really, but if someone posted that you had been involved in ANY crime or untoward conduct, I would have a hard time believing it. I would need some more information.

Anyway, my sincere apologies if it seems like I was insinuating that - I truly was NOT.

Folks REALLY should stop coming on and reading at the END of threads and then jumping to all kinds of wrong conclusions. If one doesn't want to understand the ENTIRE conversation/context, then one should just politely read... and politely refrain from commenting. That would be the rational and INTELLIGENT thing to do.

Shelby - you knew exactly what you were doing when you wrote that offensive comment - you were being vindictive as usual.

I did know what I was doing, C... and I explained that. I didn't know what YOU were thinking, though, as it truly never crossed MY mind (or heart!). And if you look at the context in which I stated it, rather than jumping to your usual, "Oh, I know what she REALLY means" habit, you might see it as well. When Angharad pointed it out, I was really quite mad that anyone would even think that of me... but since perhaps she thought so I went back and read it. Did I see it then? Not, really, no... because I "read" it as I thought of it in MY mind. But I also had to consider that if perhaps someone BESIDES you may have taken it that way, then others may have, too... and I needed to clarify... and apologize for the confusion. And so I did, publicly and sincerely.

I did not get what you were pointing out. All I saw was you comment as to your contempt. I saw that because it wasn't a surprise. Your contempt comes out in virtually EVERY comment you've EVER made to me... from the very first one. That you were citing this particular situation to say "why" you had contempt means you HAD it before. That it wasn't NEW. Which I've known, again, from the start. And you have taught me, with your words of contempt... to NOT care. So, I don't. See?

Angrahad calls you out on it and you act dumb. Given your long history of vindictiveness I don't buy it.

You are a free moral agent; think what you will, about what... and who... you will. Only YOU can choose what you will and will not think. Why some folks think that they have been the only "victims" of things is... curious (peace to you all!). Why some take issue with another stating what he/SHE would in a situation... when asked what he/SHE would do is... an attempt to control what another should think and do (which everyone here should have left off once leaving the WTBTS - each one must decide for themselves how to handle a matter, and I stand by my position. If someone I knew well was so accused, you betcha I would ask that child a few more questions... before I jumped off the cliff and potentially ruined someone else's life. While not ALL children make up false stories as to things that have happened to them, some do. And some mimic things they've heard from friends at school, cousins, etc. So, yes, if it were someone where the accusation seemed unlikely to ME... I would ask some questions and get the most information I could. AND... if I was certain IN MYSELF that it occurred, you can bet I would let the creep know I knew. Now... YOU are entitled to your opinion as to how YOU would handle such a situation yourself; however, what you think of me and MY position is irrelevant to me).

Why some don't want to see the truth as to an explanation for a statement... or the sincerity in an apology... such that they need... and perhaps believe themselves entitled to more... is also curious. Reminds me of that whole WTBTS JC "you don't SEEM repentant" game... which I don't play any more. The apology was warranted (once I understood how someone else might have taken what I stated (regardless of whether I MEANT it that way or not)... and so I happily gave it. Sincerely, specifically... and publicly. Not "in general" but pointedly directed to you, C. Now, if you wish to discuss it further, by all means, PM me. If that doesn't suffice, however, then the only other apology I'm going to give is that I'm sorry it doesn't.

I've worked through my WTBTS control/show yourself repentant issues, people. Some of you should start working through yours. None of us are getting any younger.

You start a thread, someone asks you how you would handle something, you respond, someone disagrees, you explain why you would it such a way... and you;re still "mud." Held in contempt, even. Even so, I would still ask the child for more info... and I would still tell the perp he wasn't hiding from ME. 'Cause what you gonna do if the authorities conclude there isn't enough "evidence"? Oh, that's right - the authorities always have enough evidence.

Aguest - I totally understand why Cofty is upset here, your comment was out of line there was no need for you to make such a comment. We do not need yet another discussion derailed due to insulting / baiting comments being posted

I ALL honesty, I do not, dear Angharad (peace to you!). I was not in ANY way insinuating that I thought similar of Cofty (not at all! C'mon, people! It was an example - given how much time he spends on here, when would he have TIME??). I used his name to try and help him see how utterly ridiculous it COULD be! That someone could accuse HIM... and knowing just what I know of him through this forum THAT child would have to give ME more! I mean, I don't even know C personally, but someone couldn't just accuse him of bad conduct to ME - they would have to give me some more details and MAKE me believe it!

I TRULY do NOT get this heightened sensivity! Really, I don't! I was NOT insinuating that C would even engage in such conduct - to the contrary, that's why I used HIM as the example... because I could NOT imagine it!

What is UP with all of this reading bad motives? Is it such a stretch to say, "Maybe she means that such an allegation would, in HER mind, be SO ridiculous, given who's being accused, that she would NEED more information?"?????

Sigh. Look, perhaps it's best if C and I just steer clear of each other, as well. I mean, if you check the record, I rarely engage him first. RARELY. Usually, I'm just responding to some snarky comment HE'S made.

AGuest, what is your interpretation on HOW one eats from this Tree of Life?

Ones does so technically by partaking of the "manna" that represents the "leaves" of that Tree, dear Monsieur (peace to you, dear one!). One does so literally, though... by listening to and obeying the "commandments" of that One... even down to the "least" matter (say, how to tie one's shoes). Unfortunately, "they" say that all he commanded is written (in the Bible) and so we're good if we follow that. That is NOT true, however! He STILL speaks to his sheep!

Please note, as to the written "commandments" what HE is recorded to have said, because what HE says isn't necessarily what one may have been told/taught, even as to what has been "written." For instance:

“You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I tell youthat anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

“It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’ But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only yourown people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect."

The point? WHO do we LISTEN... TO? Those that "say/said"? Or...? In that regard, I will add one more:

THEY say that Christ does not speak. But HE is recorded to have said, "MY sheep HEAR... MY voice." John 10:16, 27

What is comes down to, dear one, is... who are YOU going to LISTEN... TO?

Is it merely believing that Jesus can resurrect?

No, dear one. The demons believe (that he is the Son of God)... AND that he can resurrect (as well as bind: "Have you come to abyss us now?"). THEY know... and recognize his authority. Question is... do WE?
