hambeak and i were out on saturday and he had this smile about him.
i just wanted him to see that indeed it will come back around.
Decki you are a wise woman! Of all those on this site, both you and hambeak are on my list of those I would like to meet. You are both awesome people. Thanks for sharing those pictures, its good to see the way love helps heal. oh my, i just had a visit from a jw who proceeded to, for an hour and half, try and cover every doctrine in the book, jump from scripture to scripture, half the time i was so confused about what was being said.
the other witness barely got a word in edgewise.
i quickly realized that there was going to be no discussion--it was sit and listen and try and look intelligent.
Sounds to me this guy is either ADHD or bi-polar. In either case your mind races a thousand miles a minute and its hard to keep up, as well as a tendancy to interrupt conversations because your mind races so fast you have a response before their thought is finished, and you are so easily distractible from any stimulae that you cannot remember that thought if you wait for them to finish theirs.
There are drugs that help.

our friend hambeak just got the most dreaded phone call from his jw child.
the news was passed on as he was asked for by name and not as"dad" and let known that "they" just called to let him know that his other son, brian, age 26, is dead.
he was in a car accident.

my grandson went back to the hospital for more test today and they found that the cancer was a type that can usually be cured.
the hospital is one of the best in the east.
i sure do feel better now.

sure, it's not exactly short, but it lays out specific reasons why i no longer believe the watchtower society is the, "one sole truth on earth" that i used to believe it was.
my wife no longer goes to any meetings either.
Sorry, I'm sure its a wonderful letter, but I cannot read that long long post without paragraph breaks. Perhaps someone else can help you format. The other browsers (non IE) have a difficult time with formatting. Sometimes if you type your posts into Word and then cut and paste them into your message it will help.

it was about marriage.
personally, i think woman should be equals in a relationship, not the man as absolute ruler that listen's to his subject when it pleases him.
it just irritates me that women will never be considered truly equal in jws.
I think if you want to be a strong independent woman you are looking in the wrong place. End of subject.

i am in the beginning process of trying to "fade" and have been dealing with depression and anxiety for a variety of reasons for a long time.
does anyone know of resources for finding counseling that is appropriate for someone like me?.
i have never been to a therapist and am afraid that they won't understand the unique issues of a person who is.
Congratulations on your decision to seek help. Please be careful of leaving one high control group for another. Some of the de-culting groups that advertise are sponsored by and advocate for other churches. Their form of salvation is another high control christian group. If thats what you want so be it, but you should be aware that not all are without a hidden agenda.

i got a phone call from a person that i gave my phone # to.
and this person said that gays are not welcome here and this is not what this board was really about.
i told them that this is only one part of the crap that the wts did to people and that we are people too.
Arrrrgggghhh! The problem is that being neutral, i.e., tolerant, is now not good enough....
Sadly enough it is thinking like yours that they also have to heal from.It is brainless comments like this that make me want to run screaming from this board. You are practicing reverse-discrimination - i.e., YOU are hyper-aware of an individual's sexual orientation and respond to them accordingly. Is that what most gay people want? Who knows? What do most heterosexual people want? Who knows? They are individuals, and as such, want different things, just as gays do. I don't care what each person's sexual orientation is - I don't make judgments on that basis. How about character, honesty, integrity, intelligence, kindness, generosity, tolerance, etc., as a basis for evaluating our fellows? Gays and straights both can excel or be deficient in these qualities because they have nothing to do with sexual orientation. Since when did sexual orientation make people either good or bad?
Bizzy, in a perfect world that is what we would be judged on. But instead everyone worries about who I sleep with (which by the way right now is nobody). I really don't understand what the content of your message has to do with the topic? This person told Hambeak he should leave BECAUSE he was gay. Didn't take the time to find out his many fine qualities as a human being. Thats what discrimination IS, judging someone on something inherent. Wish I could spell! Anyway, I think you have a point for a different discussion, I just don't think it has any bearing here.
