  Help me understand the burning of the Qur'an

  the us embassy over ran, 12 kill in retaliation for the burning.

  of the qur'an by that nut job here in the us.. a few questions, first of all the qur'an that was burn, was.

  Anybody into aromatherapy and smell good stuff?

  i always like my apartment smelling nice with a great fragrance and i like different ones throughout the year.

  however there are some smells i can't get enough of, like the smell of sandalwood.

  i just stocked up on some since the price is skyrocketing right now.

  You want your house to smell good, you could make carpet powder.

  For one averaged size livingroom:

  2 cups baking soda (NaHCO3)

  tablespoon of borax optional

  mix in glass or ceramic bowl

  add up to 30 drops Essential oil ((HIGHLY variable))

  Lavender or blend of inexpensive oils.

  If using oils with more bite -clove, cinnamon, cardamom, eucalytus, thyme,...- reduce amount to 10 drops and try that first.

  Citrus oils are very uplifiting, and you can use more, but be cautious as they are often damaging to plastics and other synthetic materials.

  So you'd put the oils on the powders and stir them with a wooden or non absorbing spoon or spatula. You could use them immediatly, but storing them for a few days in a tightly sealed glass or ceramic container would allow the essences to marry and react.

  Some ideas:

  Clove (or cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg) + a flower (rose, lavender, ylang) = a smouldery, earthy, warming. Clove and Rose approximates Carnation.

  Any citrus + Frankincense = (undergoes a scent mutation), hard to describe but very WOW! Adding a little Myrhh or Ylang or Vanilla would increase that; Pink grapefruit + Tangerine/Mandarine/bitter orange + F Incense, little Myrrh and tiny bit of Ylang approximates a sweet tart (the candy).

  Auricacia has some nice blends in there listing. I especially like the Pillow Potion.

  General guidlines that I follow.

  Brown spices tend to go with each other, with florals, and citruses.

  Green Herbals tend to go with each other, other herbs, citrus in moderation.

  Florals go with florals -mostly-

  Woods go with woods

  Citrus with citrus

  Lavender is like the Swiss Army Knife of aromatherapy, as such it can be used to harmonize blends that are not quite right.

  As always, Less Is More. Also when blending, know when to stop.

  There is more to it though, that's a good start. some oils are too expensive to use freely, like Sandalwood or Neroli. The story of sandalwood is very sad, I think its cool that they are growing it in Australia now. No, its not identical, but good enough. I wish someone would try growing it in Arizona.

  Why GB does not want couples to have children?

  i was thinking the other day about this.

  i guess you have seen many couples who have not had children.

  the main reason given is that it is difficult to raise children in the last days.

  10/1/1967 WT, p. 587: "Thus the Bible is an organizational book and belongs to the Christian congregation as an organization, not to individuals, no matter how sincerely they may believe that they can interpret the Bible. For this reason the Bible cannot be properly understood without Jehovah's visible organization in mind."

  Isn't that remarkably similar to the Catholic Church's view, trying to keep the bible out of the hands of the laity?

  when will i taste freedom?

  for all those that have been able to rescue thier loved ones from this religion the feeling of freedom and security must feel incredible no matter what outside influence attacks you it must be easier to fend off with a family united.

  i am not one of those situations and i am always dancing around the truth about the truth with my wife.

  she can turn on the blinders and question me and level blanket statements like" you dont belive in an armageddon" or "your a completely different person than you were a year ago".

  Very good advice there from nugget. for yourself, don't panic, it will take perseverence. Show love and kindness. Sounds like that is already your nature anyway.

  reading the book about the mormons is a good idea, but I thought it was the 19th wife. I saw the LifeTime special one day while house sitting. Good show.

  Have you done the prep work for yourself already? reading CoC? releasing the bonds or the other hasan book (sorry, I'm sleepy and can't seem to type capital letters)

  keep reviewing Hasan's method, you need it to be second nature. you can do this. When ever you feel exhausted, hopless, fearful, ect.; go to her and just hold her.

  Poor guy, he's not really as messed up as that pic Outlaw posted is he?

  I think it is remarkable what his EX wife did for him. She just needs to recant and not tell the elders anything, its not their business, HIPA (privacy) laws will protect her. It would be stupid of them to DF her for following his wishes regarding his care.

  When I was a child in the midwest in the 80's, because my parents studied with the PO, we always went out on holidays.

  When I moved to Seattle, I did once. then the thing was to do service the day before, or briefly on the 25th, and then head up to Crystal Mtn to go skiing. I think it would be funny to hit the slopes now and see how many JWs I recognize.
