  Should JW's be trying to convert others to their faith?

  if you think about it, what happens if one of the persons in a marriage gets converted to the jw religion, while the other one chooses not to believe?

  or the husband is at work, and the wife gets to meet the jw at the door, has bible studies with them, gets converted, and then the husband wakes up one day and finds he is living with a jw mate.

  what happens if a jw couple is out in the field service, and one gets converted to another religion, precisely as a result of doing the kingdom field service work.. in all of these instances, it results in a religiously divided home.

  I don't see why ANY group--religious, political, academic, scientific--should go out and activly recruit new followers. IF the ideas and beliefs of the group were valid and of benefit, people would naturally be drawn to them. Then there is "organizing"; why can't people just be of like mind and leave it at that.

  did anybody see the new hitchhiker's guide movie yet?

  i went this weekend.. wow, what a disappointment.

  it didn't "suck", exactly, but it wasn't what it could have been.

  I went last weekend, it was interesting and fun at first, but eventually got long and...well it just felt slow. I think the begining went too fast with some of the enjoyable ironic bits and ideas, and people that haven't read the books might totally miss them completely--"techno babble" tends to numb some people I think. I'm glad it beat XXX-- cough [product] cough.

  This is noe of the main things I am still working on. On top of that, my father also has some anti-social issues from his own childhood abuse, and I picked up on his cues at a young age.

  I kinda want a funeral pyre, sort of the Norse style. Or being cremated and having my ashes baked into a ceramic disc, say a Tai-chi symbol--"Yin Yang", and having friends or family just leave it on a mountain peak in the Cascades.

  The Awakening

  as many of you know, i have had some severe emotional issues the last couple of months.

  repression from growing up jw and being so damned responsible for all my years and setting aside emotions....... now the emotions are finally kicking their way through the door and coming out with a vengeance.

  i found a piece on a website devoted to anti-depressants and i normally don't do this but i thought i would share it with the board.

  blondie posted a link to a short bio on the gb members and i noticed something i hadnt seen before.

  these guys all have to be of the 'annointed' but jws say the calling to be of this class ended in 1935. whats with these very young new members?.

  guy pierce-- 1934-- less than a year old- infant baptism?.

  Ex massage therapists?

  I forgot that I'd started this a while back. Thanks for your input everybody. I mainly am interested in this field as I think it will help me recover physically--I am currently on SSI dissability. I am interested in working on other people who have chronic pain/fibromyalgia. I also want to get into acupressure and Tui Na (Qi Gong massage).
