Gifts that scream cheap or are just plain irritating!!!

as the holiday season approaches, we often hear the term "bad gifts" or "useless gifts" being thrown around in stories of christmas past.

i was sitting and thinking of different gift ideas and stories i heard in my life, that truly stink or are just plain irritating.

if the thought counted, then these gifts are thoughtless.

I need some advice...my first post!

i've been around for awhile, but never registered for fear of giving my personal information (yes, that's how much the borg scares me.

i was raised in the org, and left when i was 18. i realized that every religion firmly believed that they were correct, and that forced me to re-evaluate the religion on its merits, as opposed to my insistent belief.

needless to say, i saw the man behind the curtain.

Sorry, I don't mean to be rude or crass, I just like to hear stories that I have common ground with. I'm truly sorry for your loss, but I am glad you had each other while you did.

September 16th Night Photograph of Juvenile Bigfoot in Pennsylvania

hello folks.

dawg mentioned this earlier about a pennsylvania deer hunter who got these pictures of a young bigfoot on a motion camera he set up randomly on a trail in northwest pennsylvania.

the hunter had no idea this picture was taken until the next day as he was trying to see how many buck deer traveled this trail at night.

I think the scientific extablishment would rather sweep this under the rug. If there is actual DNA evidence and it can be proved that this animal has been under our noses the whole time, I think it would make people question-and I think they should-what else is science wrong about? When I mean wrong, I mean so dogmatic to protect as the status quo that to even question is to risk your career and reputation.

I love science and knowledge, but I hate the politicising of it.

when I first saw your name I was dyslexic and thought it was Delilah, the famous hair styleist from the bible. Welcome.

Apparently you have already done your fade since you have not seen any of the JW's in quite a while. I would just continue to follow your course. It doesn't sound like the elders have anything on you in order to df you.

I think this is very good advice, just keep dodging the elders for now and your fade will be back on track. I'm sorry that all your family is in, and that you just lost the only family you had out of the B0Rg. You stated why he left, do you know what led him to feel that way? -of not feeling able to live up to it or -? I'm just nosy

this is the third elder that tells me that the body of elders will recommend me as an elder in the next visit of the co.. what do you think i should do?

some facts:.

i am still 'in' because of my family.i am ms.i am doing 10+ fake hours (well, some months it is fake), so they see my "spiritual" progress.-ootb.

I agree with whoever said that not everybody is cut out to be a spy; deliberatly living a dual existence like that can be draining. If you do go ahead with it, do it for the right reasons, for family and not for the wrong reasons, getting revenge or to post BOE letters here. Also this scenario you lay out

I say yes -> My family is happy -> I blow my cover -> My family realizes everything is a lie -> GOOD

IMO, that is the best case scenario, but that's going to need alot of groundwork and preparation. Go back in the old posts here and read about Amazing's story. Are you prepared to do all that? Best of luck with what ever you do.

The LAND, or The PEOPLE

if you could choose where to live, what would influence your decision?

me, i grew up in the midwest of canada.

that's my land.

I feel a very stong pull to land. If something crazy happened and I won the lottery, I'd go back to Wisconsin and buy my great grand parents farm. They survived the great depression and dustbowl there. There are caves in the little valley below there farm, and a cold brook and many springs.

I also like the Cascade mountains of Washington and Oregon. If I lived in Oregon, I'd like Bend. Dry and hot, but close to mountains and snow. I prefer to stay in Washington, and if I could live anywhere, my list would include the north central cascades, or on the olympic pinensula from Sequim to to Forks, all along Hwy 101.

I also like Bonner's Ferry in North Idaho.

Sadly, I'm stuck in the greater Seattle Metro area. I like it here, as far as city life is its not bad.

Somebody hurt my baby! :S

once again someone hurt nancy, my little mini cooper.

this time they popped the front driver side window, broke it all out, stole my tomtom gps, ripped apart the center console and tore up the 12 volt plug while ripping the gps power cable out.

the police came out and did the whole fingerprint thing and got a few bits and pieces of some prints, but we won't know if anything will come of it.

I may lose my wife because of Disfellowshipping

have only been out of the organisation for 2 months and the wounds still run deep.

particularly hard is the fact that my wife and 8 yr old son are now divided in our beliefs.

we cannot go out as a family with our old friends like we use to.

To both of you who posted about being in this situation, I am truly sorry for what you are and will go through. The book about the mother who went back and got her daughter out is a good idea.

Also, two posters on this board that I remember went throught this same situation, had success with their families. Go back about 4-5 years and read posts by Dansk and Amazing. Their stories are amazing--sorry about the semi-pun, they can inspire you and help you to be creative and to deal with the long term emotions that this process will stress.

Whatever either of you two do, make certain that you are ready for what you are planning, there is no prise for second place or a half assed attempt. Act with concsious and deliberate intent, always being aware of what is going on, and also try to keep a calm collected zen like focus.

I think all of the advise here is good, even the contradicting recomendations; they are all A way of doing this, choose your path well.
