  Got a letter “inviting” me to my Judicial hearing- should I go?

  hey everyone, my family and i have not gone to meeting in over a year.

  rumors have swirled about us, but i have always dodged the elders calls and never said anything about my feelings.

  so after a while the calls/visits dwindled, but in october they came by again and saw our halloween decorations.

  i was looking through this site and noticed many that haven't responded to new posts in 6 to 9 years.

  do these people go back to the org or do they just go live their lives?

  newworldslacker is one i saw that is gone.

  Most I think just grow past this place and move on. Most of the ex Jws in my FB list were from here, but most no longer come back. I was gone for a while, just kinds checking it out.

  Some actually say good bye and deliberatly move on from here. Many that do stay do so I think because they want to help.

  well, i am glad my brother called and forwarned me this was comming...i got to come on here and get so much good advise from you people.

  it actually started friday nite....my door bell was buzzing at 7pm, this time they parked their car so that they thought i couldn't see it but i climbed up my kitchen counter and could see the rear end of the car by peeking out that window.

  it was the same elder as before.. an hour after that: must be mom couldn't stand it anymore & she called me crying.

  Everyone's life is different: who is anyone to say what is "Right" for another person?

  The elders are abusing and using her mother, who IMHO may be a bit on the emotional side. Perhaps sensitive would be a kinder description.

  I think CSG is taking the more honorable but dificult path, dificult because it requires balancing many things.

  Wife & I were Without Electricity for 6 Days - Empathize with 3rd World......

  a massive storm from alaska knocked the hell out of northern california , giving us a foot and a half of snow , snapping trees like matchsticks , crashing multiple electrical lines in the sierra mountains where we live.

  knocking electric out for 6 days ( thus my dissapearing act from jwn for 6 days ) - we had a 90 ft. ponderosa pine tree ( 3ft, around ) crash on the lower end of our acre we live on .

  it's still leaning on oak trees suspended in time.

  Flipper, I'm surprised you didn't already have backup power.

  Flipper, if you have a big enough chain saw that pine tree should restock your wood pile for quite a while. Just need to wait a year or two to dry it a bit. Glad you're back from your at-home camping trip!

  That would be a nice supply of wood, but be careful, snagged trees are very dangerous. You're not only dealing with gravity, but compression of wood, that can explosivly release if containment is cut or further damaged. My great grandfather was killed by a similar senario.

  I think the term 'Pagan Origens TM ' when used perjorativly like that by JWs or EvanKoolAidIcals, is very vauge and meaningless. One could say that ALL things have some connection to pagan origens.

  OMG! trees are PAGAN! eating meat is pagan. houses with white paint are pagan; window trims are pagan; door lintels are pagan; arches are pagan; fire is pagan; farts are demonic (Well that might be true); cheese is pagan. At what point do acknowledge the absurdidty of it all?

  Re: Christmas and "Pagan Origins", there is a great deal there. Reading about Yule and Solstice traditions in Scandinavian contries would probably be a very interesting ecploration for you, even if you personally are not 'Pagan'.
