  How did you feel ?

  ok, i know this has already been posted directly and indirectly.

  now that we are getting into the holiday season.

  how did you feel the first time you set holiday decorations at your home.

  All this talking about lights reminded me of an Xmas tradition that some in our hall used to do.

  Out in Maple Valley Washington by the Lake Wilderness Golf course and country Club the houses in the surrounding neighborhoods are all decked out with lights. It can take about 45minutes to an hour and a half to drive through it all. It reminds one of the Disney Light Parades. This has been getting bigger and better every year. On some days in December, the local news stations are out there and the community has a food drive or gift collection for needy children.

  There were about six families that I knew of from our hall that would do the drive through. Two were elders. Yes the lights were to chase away demons blah blah blah. I guess their curiousity got the better of them.

  I haven't seen the lights for afew years 'cause I live in eastern WA. For those of you in Seattle, if you like this sort of thing, the trip might be worth it.

  how do you make home made wine?

  i am going to try to make some red wine, again :), so i was just wondering if any one out there has any good suggestions, or experiences they could share.

  You should really read up a bit. I made black berry wine one year, turned out awesome. The next year I did the same, and wound up with 'MonteZuma's Revenge' without going near Mexico. Worst case would be if you fermented methanol instead of ethanol; you could end up blinded or dead.

  When it works out though, it is fun. I'm thinking of buying myself a Beer Kit for Xmas this year.

  i have a friend/sister who is still in the organization.

  All of my family is now unassimilated, and my best friends are out too.
  There are a few others who I still in that I care for without question.
  
  I am not aware of any who shun me, as I moved 200 miles away.

  This contract has dangerous implications. Prohibitions against psychiatry?!?
  
  When I was a young stupid kid, and a JW, I filled out a harmless looking evaluation and sent it in. I later met with a Dianetics(TM) counseler. At this point I didn't know what I was getting into. Anyway, I left a check for $100+ in exchange for some 'psychology' books. When I got home that evening and showed my parents they freaked. They were actually pretty good, didn't get upset AT me, just with what I had.
  
  A coworker of my father's was a former member. We called him and talked on speaker for a few hours.
  
  Next day after school my dad takes time off work and goes with me to get back my money.
  The 'Scientologists' didn't want to give me my money back on the spot. My dad, bless him for the redkneck he is, spoke slow and calmly but put the fear into the woman. She went and cut me a check out of their office petty cash fund. In exchange, I had to sign a waiver and promise to NEVER go back to the organization again. No Prob.
  
  
  I know that we like to poo on the WTBS, but this organization is much more agressive and mentally damaging.

  Clowns. And people dressed up as furry Disney characters. I think it has to do with not seeing the face and eyes.
  I freeze, have a deep sense of dread, and could possibly react violently.

  this is a question that many jws seem to have when they are contemplating leaving the wt society.

  the society's answer is that there is nowhere else to go.

  This is the point that my mom is at. When she starts in "but where whill we go.." and my favorite, "I learned more from the WTS in one year than I did from the Lutheran Church in 20+years". Or "but they're the only ones that teach bible truthes".
  I am working with her, but her archtypical responses make me sick and angry. Yuck. I usually at these points in our conversations just remain silent, and TRY to stay calm. Call me morbid, but is is somewhat interesting to observe a person in the throes of mind control and actual programming.
  
  This just hardens my resolve to clean up my own mind-scape and then return the favor and help others free their minds. I wish I was a little quicker on my feet like some of you here.
