Last August I attended my best friend's bachelor party. He and his friends and BIL's know I'm gay. Only the best man, the guy who studied with us to become JWs doesn't know yet. BTW, we're all out of JW now together. Long story short: The str8 dudes all thought is was very funny to keep buying the gay dude lap dances.
Their pennance will be that when I finially get moved to Seattle, they have to come with me on my first trip to a gay bar.

Were You a Rebel or a Lamb"?
by minimus in.
in the congregation, were you a meek, mild, sweet person or did you find yourself always getting counseled because of your mouth??

I checked out that Lamb Placenta stuff. It is a dietary supplement, but I'm not shure if it is a 'youth' formula or anti aging or if it for female hormonal therapy. I didn't want to look further.

I was a chameleon that always looked like a sheep. I did the sheep look so long that I forgot my natural form.

Does anyone remember those hideous murals?
by Country Girl infrom around 1964, until our congregation had a new kingdom hall built in the mid-70's or so, we had this mural behind the speaker's platform on the stage.
it was supposed to be paradise.
it had a nice range of mountains, a beautiful lake, and some flora and fauna in the foreground.

When our cong (somewhere south of Seattle...) remodeled, they had one of the elders who was a painter take care of the stage background. This elder specialized in marbleizing techniques, so when finished, it actually looked like the platform was surrounded by walls of marble panels. It was fun to trace the veines in the marlbe and line them up to the next block, at least more fun than paying attention.

Last night's exitement
by dustyb inlast nite was exiting.
my g/f came over when i was sleeping around 7:30 pm (around there).
she woke me up and she started crying, told me that she had enough at home and that she threw all her clothes in her car and told her mom that she was moving out.

by the way, my g/fs parents profess to be outstanding jehovah's witnesses...........
Aren't they though.
I hate this kind of crap, I'm sorry for you having to deal with it. And your grandparents too. Sadelder's idea sounds good. My idea would be to have a White Whitch bless the place to reflect their negative energy back to them, or to just heal your home-I don't know really how that works.

In the summer of 1981 my mother was contacted in the dorr to door ministry when we were living in a little mountian town in Arizona. She lept into JWism pretty fast, and by the fall she was dragging us kids to meeting. I was 7 years old and the oldest of four sibs, youngest being 2. The KH was small with a little wood stove in the back. That December we all moved back to Wisconsin to be near her family, our father had preceded us in moving a few monthes prior. This was the actual belief and behavior transition for us kids. In the new school a sister from the hall helped explain to my teacher that we were JWs and I would not be participating in XYZ. The kicker is that nobody told me I was not participatingin XYZ. That school year ended miserably for me. (2nd grade) Next year and new school 80 miles away, this time in a small hick town, she finially explained to us kids what was going on. What?!? No Christmas?!? Her family reacted the same and was not happy. From that point we did not see our very large extended family very often, and never for special occasions. Spring ahead to 1987, June 17th, we all move to Seattle Washington. Major culture shock. We were small town folk. At least we finished our schooling in one district so we could keep our friends. This was also slowly the begining of the end of our parents marriage. Present: We are all out of the BorG. My dad is DFd. Only our mother still holds some of the beliefs, but she is innactive and is not likely to go back. She is wanting to go to the memorial this year, but noone has invited her yet. Her house is only two blocks away from the KH here in XXXXXX XXXX WA, so of course all those caring dubbies stop by and leave mags at the end of their service time.

JW's and Embargoed Technology
by gitasatsangha ini've been thinking of another way to cause trouble for the watchtower.
i don't think one silver bullet will take it down.
it's more of a siege campaign.

I think any idea that can chip away at the WTS is good. If someone doesn't want to "flush toilets", good for them.

Would you be willing to give a little bit more detail about the movie? I am not asking you to spoil it for anybody else, just want to know a little more. Thanks.
