There is no difference to me between a Fanatical Muslim, bin Laden, car bomber and a red neck, fundamental, Jerry Falwell, charismatic Christian. These type of small minded people would not hesitate to justify an Armageddon type war because "God" is on their side.
I have thought this for some time now. But I think it still comes down to being people and not religions that are totally to blame. People make choices, not belief systems. Belief systems are like a virus; they need a biological entity or in this case a mind, to replicate and go about their life process. Or maybe religion is more like a drug, it changes the tendancy of a person's behavior. The person is still responsible. Think Drunk Drivers. You can point at and yell and scream at a drunk driver all you want to, he will still hit you. You need to remove yourself from his shere of influence and then you may not get hit.
I kind of wandered and babbled there, but I think I almost got what I wanted to say accross.

Humor and irreverence are a good way to "sow seeds" about the truth; mocking the absurd can be a real eye opener.

RE:gadgets tattoo: I want one too(where?) need advice
by Tim Horton ini want to get a tattoo and gadget has finally given me the push i need.
should i get it on my bum or at the small of my back(above my bum)?
what do you think guys?

I like your panther idea with coloured eyes. You could wrap the tail around your side or something, like a swishy cat tail...
I think it would be fun to have one on the bum too. But that might not work for me--yeti. I have also thought about like you said, on the lower back or just below the neck between the shoulder blades. no matter where I get one, I would't be able to see it. I also toy with the idea of a navel tattoo. Mostly, I just don't know what I want to keep for the rest of my life.

Can a JW get a scriptual divorce if mate is "gay or lesbian"?
by booker-t inthis is a very interesting topic because i know a sister who was married to a homosexual man and stayed with him for years.
back in the earlier days jw's were told that "adultery" was sex with a married person and someone of the opposite sex.
so if a jw women found out her husband was having gay affairs she could not scriptually divorce her husband.

BUT---if the person does not practice their homosexuality----they can't!
That would be true IF JW rules were consistently applied; they're not.

Costa Rican Coffe Plantations?
by darkuncle29 in.
how many others are thinking of this or similiar ideas?
i didn't grasp at first that there were that many.

Naw, you'd get more out of it than that. You could become part owners and we could print Bible literature to help people see what the bible is really about.
Just playin. It might take me a while, but I'll keep you all in mind.

My best friend's sister was DF'd for this very thing back around 1999-2000. She divorced her gay husband, he had married her so he could get to this country from South America. This is what happens when window washers and painters take charge of people's spiritual well being (in this case actually a very senile reitred Army vet and a "New" elder.)

Peace as a state, or permanent trait/structure
by Markfromcali inokay, here's one for those of you interested in consciousness and such, or maybe those who happen to find it interesting at the moment.
if not of course you are free to click away and return to your regularly scheduled programming.
i was reading some ken wilber and was thinking of the point about different stages of development, that different consciousness can be a temporary state, an experience or basically a stable structure of consciousness.

I have been learning (un-learning) for some time now to just let things flow. When I am in the right mindset, at the right place and right time, things are ok. I am not sure what you mean by "Who made that choice?" I believe that it was me; my mind/soul whatever. I don't see the point to adding various belief system jargon just for the sake of ...complicating matters. I like the K.I.S.S. principle. and now I'm just babbling.
