what if in the evolutionary process with the development of the mind, that the ego grew in a wrong or perhaps crooked (fractal) direction,,which merely seemed to caused a momentary glitch which caused the spiecies "man" to "feel separate"(cause by a over active ego) and that the glitch will correct itself after a few thousand years in which the human species no longer sees itself as a separate entity and at peace with the enviroment,,and gone will be his sorrow and suffering because he no longer resists.

you know what i mean,,we all get sick and nobody's perfect,,so why not a over active ego??

I was thinking the other day about the concept of identity. Personal identity. I was trying to compare identity and ego. I don't believe that either is bad or undesireable in its most basic and natural sense. I think it is less healthy when the individual identity/ego takes external lables and "wraps" itself up in them. I think this phenomenon is often associated with groups.

He is a fun guy. I have the movie All The Queen's Men, a WWII flick. Eddie Izzard, Matt Le Blanc, and bunch of guys dress in drag to invade a Nazi munitions factory that only employs women. Not a "classic" that will be remembered for hundreds of years, but fun to kill time to.

Why does God let bad things happen?

this question seems to be getting thrown around in the earthquake threads, and is asked a lot... so, what is your opinion on why god allows bad things to happen?

also, did you stop believing in god because he allows it?.

I think it is because keeping stars in their courses and avoiding collisions-which could ause disastrous supernovas-is more important than stoping a single planet's tectonic plates from rubbing and colliding (sounds kinda sexy, no?) If he really wanted to, he could warn people and they could respond, but what if they don't want to listen, going about their holiday business is "too" important perhaps,

My Christmas wish for Y'all....

i wish everyone here a holiday filled with love, happiness, warm memories and good times.

so many of us have gone through really rough times with things that have happened in our lives, and i hope that everyone here can one day be fully healed from our pasts, so that we can go into the future happily, with full, rewarding lives, with our pasts and obstacles we have faced only being distant memories of days gone by.. i wish for a time when families join together, and not become separated or influenced by an organization, or anyone else.

this is a season of hope, and all things are possible.. wishing everyone the bestest of the best!!!.

the couple that my mr.horton and i had been studying with when we were considering going back to the truth finally got ahold of him.

I think you've already been given the best advice: calmly educate and explain why you believe the way you do. As your son gets older, he will have to step up to the plate for himself, part of growing up is learing to speak one's own mind.

Our most powerful weapon is our mind; if we clutter that with emotionalism, we pull the plug on most outcomes that could be of benefit. I am not saying that emotions are bed or evil, I am just saying that too many people are slaves to them, and then woder why their lives are messed up.
