I hate that when mistakes are made by them on your account it takes them forever to fix them
I just had a strange charge on my account, over 200$ and that put me in the red. I diputed it, got it back, but they gave me the runa round on the overdraft they charged to it. Suffice it to say, this will slow me down and make making my student loan payment closer than I like to run it.
i had two accounts at Wa Mu a few years ago, but when i got sick and had medical bills, those got messed up.
i hate dealing with any large beurocratic corporation or govt agency. Dealing with Sallie mae for student loans is the worst; hours and hours playing runaround with them transfering you to so many different people.

Exciting announcements at service meeting
by truthseeker inwe've already had a post on this, but there were other interesting comments.. the brother giving the announcements said that there would be a new understanding of jesus' reference to the generation as discussed at the annual meeting.. an elder giving a service meeting part review of different watchtower articles from the current year brought out the new light concerning 1935.. he asks: "when is the sealing of the anounted ones?".
elder answers: "there is no specific date".
later after the meeting, i asked an elder if the new understanding of the remnant now meant that younger people could go to heaven.. he answered with an affirmative "yes" and that we would be getting the new understanding of the generation jesus spoke of in a future 2008 watchtower.. .

Does this also mean they'll have to completely rewrite the Revelation book, it being now mostly "old light"?

sad little picture
by Hortensia inisn't this the saddest little face?
this is my 16-year-old cat lily - the new kitten popped her in the eye and she got an infection.
she won't leave it alone so the vet sewed her eye shut with med inside, and put the cone on her so she can't take the stitches out by herself.

Up date: since I've been back in Seattle, grandpa fell and broke his hip. He's had surgery to repair it, and is staying in a home while he get PT. Then he should be back at his and grandma's place. no, he shouldn't be declared incompetent, only his judgement is a little off, especially regarding scams that come in the junk mail--Publisher's Clearing House, and a few others mentiond, but I think they're all mute now. He's a very active 90 yo. He has two beehives, but now he's going to need my cousins to get them redy for winter. He still deer hunts. He is in the American Legion and the 40 & 8--he's a WWII vet. He actually broke his hip at a town meeting.

The best revenge
by Junction-Guy inso are you happier outside the jw's than inside?.
do you like having freedom, or are circumstances too overwhelming to appreciate it now?
is happiness in small things possible, even when we're still in the process of "getting it all together"?

Hi JG. I attended a health seminar last week--part of my CE credits to keep my massage liscense. Cutting out 8 hours worth of details, I'll just add what still sticks in my mind.
stress is a huge issue. Elevated stress hormones alter metabalism, weaken immunity, affect brain chemistry, and more.
You already have stress from day to day stuff, your bother's campaign, past JW stuff, and other ((we've talked)).
They were emphatic about exercise: just 10 minutes of walking is better than nothing. more would be better. Leads to release of natural dopamines, relaxes autonomic nervous system. One study was quoted that patients who exercised for an hour were just as well off as patients given prozac, I can look through my notes if you'd like to see this.
Diet is huge. Trans fats are very bad, toxic to the liver, and they don't help our mental state any. Omega-3's and 6's help with lowering bad cholesterol, and help with brain function. Omega-3's are the ones to really go after, as our diet has enough 6's and 9's (mostly)
Also, is the turn of the season affecting you at all?
Personal perspective, what do you mean when you mean "happy". in battling my own depression, I learned to see it in little things; seeing my nephew, whatching South Park with friends, having a batch of soap come out Awesome, little things, not a lot of real world importance, but they make me content.
An attitude of thankfulness, to the universe for the good things, for the happy moments I had in my past, for bits of wisdom learned from trial, to cats and dogs long dead: Thank you.
I also felt better when I took the JW recomendation of simplifying my life. Getting rid of physical clutter, getting rid of "busy" activities, and then adding things that were for me and had meaning, as opposed to doing and doing for other people who wouldn't do for themselves. i'm very picky in who I choose as massage clients, because I can't work with people who are emotionally draining or toxic; I won't. And what I've found, is that the clients I do have, it is a joy to give them what I can.
Somewhere in my post history is a thing called "The Awakening", check it out, you might find it useful.
Have a good one.

I'd say first, relax, take a breath and try to disengage your emotions from this issue. If you feel you need to tel your MIL what the JWs do or believe, that's ok, just don't force the issue. How you react to your SIL's actions can only hurt you. Do not overreact to anything she does or says, give her space and time to "hang herself" with. All the while you are calm and collected, and others see you as being rational. That said, I also have experience with family members who've never been JWs before, who just don't get the cult dynamics, and trying to educate them can be very frustrating. I also wouldn't flatly ignore her, I'd just not seek her out or respond more than is needed to meet social demands. Personally, I'd also avoid alcohol, especially if you find yourself holding your tongue. Just take a deep diaphragmatic breath. When its all done, and nobody's mad at you, go get a massage or have your favorite mixed drink, or two, or three.

Sorry, I used sloppy/casual en-grish. I should have said extremist, not fundamentalist, as you're correct, there are no sacred atheist texts...that I know of anyway. And Gopher, i agree with you that non believers need to speak up so as not to be lost in the din. That author just pushes all my "eewwww" buttons, He thinks "he's right end-of-discussion". I would hope that no such thing ever rears its ugly head-that is extremist atheism. I would venture that its possible to be fundamentalist anything without crossing the extremist line, do you think? Sorry about the lack of formatting, explorer crashed on me again and I'm sick of using it until I reboot. I just wonder, are atheists willing to leave people alone who don't bother anyone else? Again, I hope so, but my blind trust in humans is a bit scorched. Interesting article, thanks for linking it.
