If it comes to my area, I will definately see it.
I don't know about Gibson keeping Jews from seeing the movie. I do know that the Jewish Anti-Defamation group previewed it and were very worried about possible backlash from Christians.

anybody been following the development and release of this movie?.
an 'r' rated jesus film, one that portrays a no holds barred depiction of the the beatings, the whippings, and the execution.
all dialogue is in the 'original' languages (at first it wasn't supposed to be subtitled, but mel gibson finally caved in on this point.
If it comes to my area, I will definately see it.

I'm supporting Gen. Wes Clark. I honestly believe he's the only one who can beat George W. Bush. W. told us in the State of the Union/My First Campaign Speech that America is still in danger from terrorist threats. As the former commander of NATO, Clark has more experience in foreign relations than anyone else running, including W. Clark also has sound plans for the domestic side of his presidency, you can read about them at www.clark04.com.
I honestly don't believe America can take four more years of W. I say this because under the Bush Administration we have gone from the largest surplus in history to the largest deficit in history, in only three years. Bush has refused to allow the UN to visit the POW camp at Guantanamo Bay. Why? Actions like this erode the reputation of our country. When the US was attaced on 9/11, he did lead us through a very difficult period in our history. However, in the months since then, he has alienated one ally of the US after another. We need the support of more countries than the UK, Australia, Spain and Poland in the Middle East. It truely needs to be a global effort.
I would like to say that I'm very sad that John McCain is not running. I would vote for him in a heartbeat.

bill clinton, hillary clinton, and al gore were in an airplane that crashed.
they're up in heaven, and god's sitting on the great white throne.
god addresses al first.
Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and Al Gore were in an airplane that crashed. They're up in heaven, and God's sitting on the great white throne. God addresses Al first. "Al, what do you believe in?" Al replies, "Well, I believe I won that election, but that it was your will that I did not serve. And I've come to understand that now." God thinks for a second and says "Okay, very good. Come and sit at my left." God then addresses Bill. "Bill, what do you believe in?" Bill replies, "I believe in forgiveness. I've sinned, but I've never held a grudge against my fellow man, and I hope no grudges are held against me." God thinks for a second and says "You are forgiven, my son. Come and sit at my right." God then address Hillary. "Hillary, what do you believe in?" "I believe you're in my chair."
a "worldly" friend of mine, who i've know for over 20 years (he's a couple years older than me), had a heart attack yesterday.
he's ok..."missed a bullet.
" he had an arthroplasty, and is out of icu...doc says he'll probably feel better than he has for years.
I don't usually think about this, but I have been lately as well. I've attended two funerals this week. One was on Tuesday for a coworker's father; the other was today for my uncle. To be honest, I don't have a clue what happens after we die. If we do come back, I just hope that I don't come back as a bug or a Witness.
Seriously, i would love to hear what everyone else has to say on the matter.
how many cases are there of people leaving the jw organization or being df'ed because they decided to be gay?
is it common?
i haven't heard of many cases, but i also haven't researched a whole lot.. .
Hi Peace-arms,
Welcome to the board! There are a lot of great people here; I'm kind of new here myself. I hope enjoy yourself and learn as much as I have.
A specific number would be hard get. But, I can tell you that there are literally thousands of us. There are a few of us here on JWD. I would defer to SFJim or Rayzorblade as to a more accurate number than my "thousands of us."
One thing I would like to clarify, in your post you said:
How many cases are there of people leaving the JW Organization or being DF'ed because they decided to be gay?
In my opinion, none of us woke up as a JW one day and decided to be gay. Sexuality is not a choice for most gay people. I have met one lesbian in my life who claimed she got tired of men and decided to be a lesbian. However, this woman was not a JW and did not have to deal with the org's opinion on homosexuality. For most of us, coming to accept ourselves was a very hard thing to do. For me, it took me four years to accept I was gay after ending a relationship with a very nice JW sister. It was another four years until I would tell my family. This is common for most gay people in general, not just JWs. If it were a choice, then why would we put ourselves through this anguish? The only decision gay JWs face is to either accept yourself for who you are, or deny what you are and live a tortured existance.
A great place to start any research on this topic would be "A Common Bond." ACB is a great organization for gay ex-jws. It is an international organization. The site for the NYC chapter is www.acbnyc.com. There are links to other chapters' websites there.
Feel free to PM me if I can help you in any other way. Again, welcome to the board!
Best regards, CountryGuy
Cat: I told my friends this pheremone purfume would work!!!
~~or~~
Moose: I KNOW you want a copy of The Moosetower.
i saw the photodrama of creation in bethel in color.
i didnt care for it.
"JWs - The Organisation behind the name" was quite terrifying if you are into horrors.Brummie
(In my best Roger Ebert voice.) Now, see... I thought this was more of a comedy. It really was quite laughable!

Seriously, my favorite movies are:
i always have felt that the following expressions were stupid, why dont they just call it pro abortion, anti abortion.
anyway, knowing our backgrounds as jw's what is your viewpoint on this highly debated issue?
I don't really know what you would call me.
Personally... I believe that abortion is murder. Sorry, that's the way I feel. HOWEVER, I'm right there with Devon, I don't believe that I have the right to force my opinions and morals on anyone else. No matter, what. And, honestly, since I'm not going to be put in this situation, it's really a moot point.
So would that make me an "Anti-Abortion-Pro-Lifer?" OR, an "Pro-Choice-Anti-Abortionist?"
i think it's april 4th.
(i think).
are you going?
CountryGuy, MEMORIAL FREE SINCE 1998!
Damn, glad to meet you!
Obviously, my answer is NOOOOOOO!!!!
below is what was posted on witness world by polly pan.
i took euphemism's advice and others to protect my identity.
about a week ago it was brought to administrations attention that there may be apostates lurking on our board, as a precautionary measure we deleted 107 members who had never posted since they joined.
somebodylovesme and drwtsn32: Let us know if you ever change your tune and become dedicated, baptized Witnesses. You would then be quite welcome to join us. That goes for anyone else here.
Wow, Jonadab!
You inserted that one line to start your time, didn't you? What a creative way to get some time in for the month! My hat is off to you. Very creative! According to the time stamp, your first post on the site today was at 6:59pm (my local time) and the last one was at 10:38pm. That's over three and a half hours, and you ended just in time to watch Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson on Saturday Night Live! I wish this had been an option when I was growing up, I could have been a pioneer!
Honestly, you want to know why some here have been posting on witness sites, but the better question would be: why would you be posting here (definding the WBTS), on a predominantly EX-witness site? You know the score as well as we do. You have been blatently forbidden by the org not to come to sites like this, yet here you are. But don't worry, I won't tell the elders. However, I'm not so sure that they may not be lurking here.
