  I also have already altered my driving habits.

  -I do not go faster than 60 on the interstate, I'm sure that irritates some of the leadfoots behind me, but they can pass.
  -JH's tips were right on the money, be sure to use them.
  -I have organized a carpool at my company for the people that live in my town and have to drive to Little Rock. Trust me, it's very easy to organize one. Even if you only have two people in it, it will cut your trips in half.
  -Hell, I even buy my gas from Wal-Mart (UGH! That KILLS me.) so I can get their 3 cent a gallon discount
  -I learned this from the CBS Early Show this week: Go ahead and run your air conditioning. Rolling down your windows creates a drag on the car and burns the same amount of gas as you would by running the a/c.

  I drive a Cavalier and have to take it into Little Rock about two times a week. Filled it up last Sunday and I still have half a tank.
  Wayne drives an Aspire that gets GREAT gas mileage. He drives it back and forth to work everyday. Thank goodness he works in town, so it's only a 5 mile round trip. I filled it up the Saturday before last and he still has a 1/4 tank.

  Just a personal opinion here... the government isn't going to do anything about high oil prices as long as the president has such close ties to the oil industry. So, it's up to us to do what we can to get through this without having to sell a kidney.

  Once I go back home to PA, I need to get my own cat.

  From my experience, you don't own a cat, they own you.

  We have three pets. One cat: Xander (who we call B!tch Kitty) recently decided to become an outside kitty. Two dogs: Emmett, our labmation (black lab/dalmation mix), and Deogie (yellow lab/rott mix) who is going blind.

  My absolute favorites, gotta watch no matter how bad they are, are the natural disaster movies: Earthquake!, Deep Impact, Armageddon, The Core, The Day After Tomorrow, hell even Dante's Peak!

  sinnamon has been torturing and chasing around this mouse in the house for about an hour now...i can hear it shriek and squeak every once in a while...i can't catch it and the most irritating thing is she prolly brought it in as a present... this is the culprits mugshot btw...see any humility there?.

  My cat's name is Xander, but we call him Bitty, which is short for b*tch kitty. Right before we left Amarillo, he caught a mouse and tortured it until it was still alive, but couldn't move. When he became bored with the mouse, he picked it up and dropped it in his water dish. He then sat there and watched it drown and then walked away.

  high gas prices? bah!

  i have a cavalier that i fill up maybe once a week (usually less than that actually).

  this week i paid .10 more a gallon than last week.

  you know how much extra the rise cost me?.

  It hit $2.59 here at the stations on the Interstate. $2.43 at a station close by my house.

  I'm just wondering what this is doing to the pioneers? Buying gas for service when you work at a minimum (or a little more) wage job must really suck. And you know the other witnesses aren't even thinking about giving them any kind of gas money.

  Don't forget to remove anything that has the flag or any patriotic combinations of the stars and stripes. I'd even be careful with anything red, white and blue. I once had an elder jump all over me about my patriotic sticker on my car and come to find out it was just the "Oil Change Reminder" sticker that had a blue star with a red back ground.

  Evil Force is right, the state of Louisiana has no authority over your Texas license. However, Texas and all its neighbors have an agreement. If you have a ticket that you don't pay in their state, Texas will revoke your license.

  The following is from the DPS's web site:

  The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) may revoke a person's license if the person has not complied with the terms of a traffic citation received in another state. Texas Transportation Code 521.294 , 37 Texas Administrative Code 15.82.

  Reinstatement requirements

  reinstatement fee will be required prior to the renewal/issuance of a driver license .

  In 2001, while living in Amarillo, I got a speeding ticket in Guymon, OK. Two weeks after that I got laid off. Three weeks after that my mother-in-law had a stroke. I forgot all about this ticket. Six months later, I get a letter from Austin telling me my license had been revoked. Apparently, all the other location has to do is prove that you had the ticket and it was not paid. In my case, I never received any letter telling me that if I didn't pay it, my license would be revoked.

  However, I would be weary that this isn't some kind of scam. One easy way would be to check your driving record, you can do so on the DPS website. If the ticket shows up, there may be something to this.
