Reading Apostate Literature.
by Blueblades in.
the wt.society forbids the reading of apostate literature.. they claim that all religions have apostatized.. they claim that the catholic church is an apostate religion.. yet they use the bible that they ( the church ) canonized during the face off of which books should be canonized and which ones should not.. simply put, how does the wt.society know which books are inspired and which ones are not?.

THE BIBLE,God's Word or Man's?

In true tradition of Watchtower publications, this book is a simple propaganda masterpiece that gives the higher thinker very little to actually ponder upon.
It may impress the average 2 bit nobody, but does nothing to impress free minds. The arguementation is floored, the illustrations are poor and is very one sided. If this book really gave the right answer as to this question, every scholar would own one and the Bible would be universally accepted as the word of God.
As it is not, the book is useful only for the day of the dead.

In a word :
no.
Raise it to the next level man. Dont argue over biblical doctrine, or scandals like the UN. Simply discard the whole thing.... raise it to next level, man.

Hi Little Toe.
How's Scotland ?
Great draw against Holland eh?
Anyway, back to the post. Pete summed it up by mentioning that book. One point I found was interesting was that clay tablets were found in the region of Canaan where the exodus was meant to have led into. These clay tablets told us that the Israelites could never have escaped captivity from the Eygptians ; simply because that region of Canaan was under Eygptian control anyway. Pharoah and his army would never have had to go after the Israelites, since they would simply have told their armies to seive them upon their arrival.

Thanks for that information.
It's amazing how Bible scholars have attempted to create characters from various mythologies and claim them as their own.
There used to be a archeological myth that archeology in itself backs up the Bible. Maybe it used to, as wealthy Jewish and Christian businessmen sponsered digs and found that by discovering various artifacts and manuscripts, this was to say that archeology backs the Bible up !
Not true. Today, archeology is sponsered from all quarters, and people are less likely to make false assumptions. Today, archeologists are able to distinguish these artifacts, sometimes with results that show that the artifact or event was in the Bible, but it was manufactured to appear as such.
If any, Archeology disproves the Bible, and the more that time goes on, the more we shall see of this.

Hi.
I have contributed a few posts over the last 24 hours, and keeping with the apparent tradition I guess I should introduce myself.
I am an ex-dubite, after twenty years slaving for the organization.
I decided to call it quits roughly only one year ago this month, after a spur of the moment decision never to go again. The thought of it obviously crossed my mind before, but rather than fade away I just disapeared forever. No word from the elders, no word from the so called loving brotherhood that is so hyped up through the pages of the Watchtower.
I was never a good dub. No matter how much I tried, I just couldn't do it. I had no influence on the board of directors (the elders) so I never received any kind of special treatment, and I was always unlucky with the ladies as they didn't want to know an unbaptized spiritually divided cleaner of a brother.
Towards the end of my reign in the so called truth, I began to have serious doubts. I heard the news about the United Nations, which shocked me deeply... who would have thought the organization could do such a thing ??? Obviously, we now know they are capable of lots more.
I began to see the hypocrisy at the Kingdom Hall for what it really was. I had a serious run in with somebody in a 'position of authority' and that was it. I couldn't forgive... I shall never forget.
Now, I'm a billy no mates. lol.... you may laugh, but it is true. My friends, or so called one time friends, have deserted me because I have left. My whole life was the WT, and when I left obviously I lost everything. Its hard to rebuild, but I guess I will have to try.
After that short but extreemly boring low down, I shall end this highly unspectacular entrance with some wise words that I heard one time, which I shall not forget.
Stick to the plan, man. Just do your work, and shut the hell up.
Very useful when you have worked in some of the places I have worked in.

Is This a False Quote From AWAKE! ?
by Myxomatosis ini've had two witnesses tell me that this is false (apostrate) info from the 5/22/94 awake!
i got it from the page of the ajwrb website, and it's supposedly from p. 2 of awake!
they tell me that's wrong...so...is it out of context?

Hi.
You could turn this situation naround quite easily to your own 'apostate' benefit. As I have always said, my friend, if they pull out a fist, you pull out a knife. If they pull out a knife, you pull out a gun.
Examine these two quotes.
Watchtower 1998 December 1 p14 Defending our faith
Jehovah's Witnesses have been targets of false accusations, barefaced lies and twisted presentations of their beliefs.
The accusation that numerous children of Jehovah's Witnesses die each year as a result of refusing blood transfusions is totally unfounded.
Awake! May 22 1994 p2
Youths who put God first
In former times thousands of youths died for putting God first. They are still doing it, only today the drama is played out in hospitals and courtrooms, with blood transfusions the issue.

The Israelites never escaped captivity.
by Makaveli ina major event accepted by christians, jews and muslims around the world is that moses led an exodus from the clutches of pharoah and egypt into the promised land.
many doubters of this story conclude that this was merely a peasants revolt, not one led by some kind of god.
fortunately, we have new evidence that suggests otherwise.

Thankyou for the interest.
I didn't have a URL, I have researched by other means.
I quickly done a search, this looks quite promising.
