Stuck.....how did you forget the worse one???? lol
"Jehovah's Organization"
reading another thread made me realise that there are numerous expressions used as everyday witness terminology, that is not in the bible.... such as:.
governing body.
paradise earth.
Stuck.....how did you forget the worse one???? lol
"Jehovah's Organization"
this my friends will help in a long struggle that me and my girlfriend are having.........does the toilet paper unravel over or under.
thank you for your cooperation on this timely matter...
Over if you want comfort
Under if you want savings
so i was scrolling my social media account and i saw this from a dub: .
"i think the bible account of jael is probably my favorite.
she was very courageous when she drove that pin into sisera's head....while he was asleep!
So I was scrolling my social media account and I saw this from a dub:
"I think the Bible account of Jael is probably my favorite. She was very courageous when she drove that pin into Sisera's head....while he was asleep! She is a true gangster! Lol I want to meet her in the new world "
This offended me (and I still believe in scripture).....of all the people to meet.....you want to me some deceptive woman from the OT???? Is it me, or has learning TTATT made me more sensitive to cult attitudes and behaviors?
i've always suspected this was the wt society's view when i was in the jehovah's witness organization - but never knew the head of the writing committee karl adams had written a letter to nathan knorr ( then wt president ) recommending a change regarding reporting field service time as it wrongly emphasized jw members being seen as mainly being approved due to field service statistics - instead of emphasizing christian qualities of love, kindness, peace, etc.. karl adams had been personally handpicked by nathan knorr to be the head of the writing department.
in 1971 he wrote a letter to knorr which he wanted shared with the entire governing body as well .
i'll share the main parts of that letter.. on pg.
i have to thank tv.jw!!!
(im not putting the complete link, but you know what i mean).
after showing my wife the 'trolley song' as we now call it, she was rolling on the floor in embarrassment and shock.. she shook her head, and was clearly troubled by what we watched.. little by little, the org is actually helping more to wake up!
some of you may have seen my previous post regarding my concerns with leaving the organization.. so many of you responded and were so kind and helpful, that is was rather overwhelming.
i didn't expect so many responses.
a lot of you also provided links to research as well as some books to read.
elders in wealthy lands may find it difficult to encourage baptized brothers in their 20s or 30s to do more in the congregation.
ex- perienced elders in about 20 lands told us why they believe that some young brothers do not do more in the congregation.
most of them said that when some brothers were young, their parents did not encour- age them to set goals in jehovahs ser- vice.
my mom called me yesterday to ask how i was doing.
i hadn't seen her in a while, so it was nice to hear her voice.
we went through the motions of jw small talk and then she started telling me about her co visit from last week.
Its both. The end is always considered imminent in WT world. When you're aiding a pregnant woman through delivery, you continually say: "ONE MORE!" and again: "ONE MORE!" until she delivers. The GB knows they have major problems, so they continue to keep the rank and file on the treadmill.
Combine that with the constant RBC work, for real estate profits, cutting back on size of magazines, even circulating questionnaires in an attempt to make all new releases direct to internet.....this organization is all about saving money, so that there will still be an organization.
i would have to say that ray franz was the biggest influence for me.. when i first got on this board, a poster by the name of james, a former bethelite and organization heavy, helped me understand a lot of the inner workings in the upper echelons of the society.. .
and of course, farkel's common sense approach was (usually) helpful..
A long list of people: Simon (creator of this forun), Stuckinarut2, OntheWayOut, Hoser, Billytheexbethelite, feed the doubts....and then I read Ray Franz!
Honorable mentions: Brock Talon (Journey to God's House), AwakenAtGilead, Steven Hassan
