Although some of you may be planning on going to the Qualcomm stadium BBQ protest the same day, the San Diego Ex-Cult Members Support Group would also like to invite any of you to our next meet up scheduled for the same day, which is separate and more lowkey. We'll be meeting up for lunch at Buca Di Bepo (Mira Mesa) on 5/19 at 1pm. If you're interested in joining us, please join the Meetup.com group page and RSVP through the following link. We look forward to meeting you and hearing your personal stories:

Anyone taken the Metropolitan Museum of Art JW tour, "The Woman and Her Offspring"?
by Cadellin inthese are apparently private tours by jws (pios who do it for a "contribution," i believe), who highlight the "historical evidence" for various bible events or prophecies.
there are a variety of themes, but i had a relative just take one on the woman and the seed/offspring (is "offspring" the new word for jws?).
she thought it was the most amazing thing since sliced bread but i was curious if anyone here has taken one and what their take is....

I've had JW friends who have taken these tours also talk about it as the greatest thing since sliced bread. I'm sure to a mentally in, uneducated JW who hears all things and believes all things to only confirm their pre-existing beliefs, these tours are probably almost as good to them as sucking a GB member's dick.

Leaving it all behind.
by Jazzbo ini haven't been on an exjw site for months and months.
i frankly am way past the point where i define myself as an exjw, i am who i am and it doesn't have really anything to do with the way i was raised or spent a considerable portion of my life, i also refuse to be bound by witness requirements as to leaving, contact with witnesses, or some kind of responsibility to whack people who seem perfectly happy as witnesses over the head with 'the truth about the truth'.
i have recently run in to a few people that seems to simply obsess with their lives as witnesses and why they left and in some cases the way they were treated or mistreated, or the need to "do" something.

Congrats! You were able to make it past the stage where you no longer even identify as "EXJW". I think that many of us have that goal; to be able to see ourselves as just another, regular person, without thinking of ourselves as "EXJW". Easier for some than others, but I think most of us have that goal. If we're here, it's obviously because we are not "there" yet. But congrats to you, since you've made it to that point. Hopefully, we see you there soon.

Considering the appeal hearing is continuing today, this is yet another example of "Fake News", courtesy of Fox News.

What is the exact address of Beth Shan? I've visited the site of Beth Sarim before, but was not aware until reading this how close Beth Shan actually was to Beth Sarim.

Ever-changing teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses - probably the most comprehensive compendium about Watchtower doctrinal changes
by WTS Archive intwo days ago a new book was released for download, called "ever-changing teachings of jehovah's witnesses".
it was originally written by a polish jw scholar (who never was a jw himself) włodzimierz bednarski, with a help from szymon matusiak, who was a jw and an elder, and is a result of years of labourious work to compile quotes regarding every single doctrine the book describes.
it covers the most important changes in years 1879—2015.

2016 Regional Convention - Sunday Morning synopsis
by Jehalapeno invia reddit.
here are the morning program highlights.
will update for the afternoon once it's all over.
-
TimDrake1914
Just an FYI. This convention had a max attendance of 17000+ on Sunday. The number baptized at this convention: 68! Based on my own recollections, I believe this is a record low for the San Diego Spanish Regional/District conventions. -

Regional Convention
by raven inso how many are not going to the regional convention this year?
it will be my first year not attending as part of my fade.. i remember going for all of my childhood into adult hood, participating in stage parts even.. however, last assembly i was already mentally checked out.
i remember looking around and seeing all of people bobbing & nodding at the program talks that had been previously repeated time and time again.. almost seemed like hypnosis.. i also had a hard time with the fact that we're all supposed to be "friends" and everyone had always seemed to be so judgmental.. especially at conventions & assemblies.. things like who had the best outfit for the days, who looked the prettiest, who can snag the single ms brother.. who took the most spiritual food out of the program, how many times can you tally mark jehovah's name.

"Almost seemed like hypnosis". More like "ACTUAL hypnosis". Research has found that constant repetition does have a hypnotic effect on people.
But yeah, enjoy your weekend, cause I will have to be there. The only thing I'm going to tally is the batshit-crazy/cult reinforcing comments.
