No Natural Affection
by Sail Away indo you remember how the wt society likes to quote the scriptures that say "the love of the greater number will cool off" in "the last days" and men will have "no natural affection"?
they applied this to "worldly people".
even before my exit i, used to think that scripture applied to members of the "christian congregation" too.. i haven't written to my jw mil in about a year and a half.

I agree with you Sail Away. It does require hardening of the heart to be able to shun your family (especially your children). I could NEVER shun one of my children or my parents.
Who says JW's don't break up families. Shame on them. These are sad stories. I feel for all of you that are going through this. You are all in our thoughts.

They are worried about all the mentally diseased apostates out there that are claiming to be part of the 144,000. That is why the # of the anointed keeps going up year after year. I don't about you but I was raised that we were NEVER to question anyone that partook at the Memorial. Now all of a sudden they are questioning some who make the claim they are of the anointed.
So how do we know who actually is mentally diseased?
Of course I was also taught that this Generation would not pass away...hmmm! What a joke!
These teachings are so easy to discredit.

i am personally very attuned to body language, facial expressions and general subtleties in human interaction.

If you spend time in the Corporate environment, these guys/women are a dime a dozen. The difference with "Brother" Morris is he holds a Bible in his hand while he rants.
Someone mentioned the song by Phil Collins, Jesus He Knows me well. Listen to the words to that song, such a fitting song.

Why couldn't they have had the same stance with the political cards in Malawi? Why were sisters raped and people killed due to this. How senseless.

What to do about wife and elders
by Crazyguy init seams like every time i turn around i find out that the elders are trying to meet with one of my kids or are talking with them about things and of course my wife is instigating it.
if i say anything to my children she mentions something and they come running.
one of the ms's is also studying with them as well.

I agree with Millie210. Kids are smart. We have planted little seeds in our children and they seem to get it. You don't have to bombard your children with facts, just plant things over time.
I would also make sure the Elders know that regardless if you are attending meetings or not, you are still the head of your house and they need to tread lightly. Be tactful but firm. They need to respect you no matter the circumstances. Some of these Elders try to use intimidation, push back and you may be surprised how some (not all) head for the hills. I have tried this with some of the Nazi Elders, it works.

How many of you followed the WTS direction on education years ago and have been screwed by it?
by Julia Orwell ini'm really interested in this question because i've heard for years that if you forgo further education and go pioneering, when you have a family down the track you will get a good job because jehovah will provide for you because you pioneered.
as long as i was a kool-aid drinker, even then, i thought, "how does pioneering pay your bills?
surely education should come first.

We have family members who took the 1969 article to heart and pioneered. Now they are living on social security and working menial hard jobs in their golden years (ugh!). There is alot of resentment there! They all encourage us to let our kids go to college.
We believe this is why so many JW's are putting their kids in college. Mother doesn't like the disobedience. Too bad mother!!!

JW TV is the reason for the hysteria in the KH
by campaign of hate inif you, like me, have noticed the sudden increase in hysteria in the khs right now, i put it down to that jw tv site.
its's far more extensive than i thought it was, i thought it was just 1, 1 hour program a month.
there's a s*** load of videos on that site.. and the real problem, from just watching a clip from each video, is that these guys are clearly "mentally unstable".

It's all New to them! Like a new toy. Jehovah is really speeding up the work! How many times do we hear this?
It will loose it's newness soon. Just like the new Bible (Silver Sword) and the International Conventions...they will get over it.
I think they are trying to strain out the Fence Sitters and Faders. They are in the midst of building their new Headquarters and I hope they realize that with the Fence sitters and Faders goes the $$$$$$.
Once the new Headquarters is complete they will Hunker Down and have that facility so secure Jesus couldn't get in.

TONS of them!!! As long as they kept up appearances, all was fine. If it was a blatant offence (the whole congregation knew) then they would DF or Public/private reproof. If they are in the in crowd or buddies with the right elders/CO's, they'd be back in toot sweet.
"Membership has its privileges".
So glad we are out of this loving organization! LOL
