Accept Jehovah's Discipline
by EndofMysteries inso many times the wt uses a phrase close to that, when they really mean accept the gb's discipline.
with all of these sex abuse cases and other skeletons in the gb closet coming to light, just like king david, perhaps somebody should tell the gb to take their own advice and accept jehovah's discipline as all of their dirty laundry will continue to get exposed and they need to humble themselves.

So many catch phrases:
"wait on Jehovah"
"leave it in Jehovah's hands". This means, we really can't help you or we don't want to help you. So sorry!
"this organization is made up of imperfect men." I love this one. Too bad it is not considered when they are hanging YOUR a** out to dry in a JC.
"it's still Jehovah's organization." This is typically said after the person finishes bashing Jehovah's imperfect organization. It's like a button most of them HAVE to push to reset themselves. The Stepford wives.
"where else would we go if we left Jehovah's organization?" This on is just sad! This means we have no friends anywhere else and would just be lost without the constant daily guidance from the org on what the heck to do with our time.
What a crazy bunch of hypocrites!

a situation I know of and the mind set of the elders.
by joe134cd inok here's the situation i know of.. a women was in a situation where she was forced to reveal a hidden sin and was given a private reproof for it.
before this she had an other wise clean slate.
btw the reproof was for an unrelated matter and had nothing to do with apostasy.

I agree enjoy your freedom.
We are much happier now that we are out. We take long walks, enjoy our weekends, watch movies and spend our money on other things besides meeting clothes (ugh!) and donations. Best of all....no damn assemblies and conditional friends! Hated those!

DesirousofChange is dead on. They could care less. This organization keeps them on the hamster wheel and they just can't be bothered with you. We experienced that too.
I know it is perplexing...on the one hand you are glad they have left you alone but then it is so disturbing that they will let one go so easy. So much for leaving the 99 sheep to retrieve the 1 lost one. Hypocrites!!!

Effect of reading here.
by New day insaomebody mentioned in a recent thread here i think that the more they read here the more they feel angry at the wt.
personally, as an ex-elder (only resigned a few months ago) i feel that it is more like suddenly being on the outside looking in at a whole group of people playing parts.
the zealous pioneers answering all the time.

Yeah...it's like the Wizard of Oz. The Great and Powerful Oz is sooo scary and a bully but when you pull the curtain back he is a little insecure old man. Not so powerful after all.
Most of the bullies in the hall live double lives. Biggest bunch of hypocrites we have EVER met.

I Haven't Missed a Meeting in Years!
by Oubliette ini recently ran into a jw i knew from a few years back.you know how it goes, a few pleasantries that always seem much more awkward than they really should (not for me, mind you--for him).and then the question, "so what congregation are you attending?
are you able to make the meetings?
"i'm thinking: do you always start conversations this way?so anyways, knowing full well the jw-mindset, i decided to have a bit of fun.furrowing my brow, i said, "that's an odd question!

According to Oct.1st 2012 WT Directions- Past Child Molesters CAN Be Appointed Elders
by flipper inconsidering the fact that the wt society refuses to release in courts any of it's written directions to elders through confidential letters to elder bodies- i thought i'd do the courts and wt society a "favor " by posting excerpts from this oct 1st.
2012 letter from the wt society to all bodies of elders.
these instructions are very exposing of the negligence of wt authorities in how they view the seriousness of felony child abuse.

They don't want to open pandora's box. It would be more costly for them. They know this. So much for us following Caesar's laws. How different is it for them to refuse to testify and violate a subpoena. Hypocrites!!! -

Are Parents Who Shun Their Children At Risk?
by Englishman inwho looks after the welfare of ageing witness parents who have disfellowshipped children?
are these df'd children (actually, some of these df'd children are in their 60's) meant to ignore being ignored and then care physically for their non speaking parents?
also, can df'ing your own children lead to witness parents suffering illness or even death as a result?.

What is the basis for authority for the governing body?
by Half banana ina word to jehovahs witnesses: what is the basis for the authority the seven members of the governing body can claim in controlling the lives of eight million followers?
the organisation they represent has never got one useful piece of information correct in one hundred and thirty five years... so why should they be believed?.

They are legends in their own minds.
If you have ever worked/lived closely with a Narcissist (I mean a true blue Narcissist) they are EXACTLY like the Goberning Body. They adore themselves and NO ONE else matters at all. It's all about them! Same with most of the Elders in the Congregation. The acorn (NUT) does not fall far from the tree.

It's all about the outward appearance. One of the available "brothers" who had "spiritual qualifications" was one of biggest pot heads and loved his booze.
