Yeah right. "To save time." They are not getting the free labor like they used to. I think a lot more people think this BS. The money grab, the generation garbage and the tight pants zone talk got a lot of people thinking. -

effect of shunning
by lancelink ini have read quite a bit on this site about the effect of shunning, mainly how the person being shunned reacts to it.
and then there is the wt reaction, how everything is the df'ed persons fault.. well, i ran across this article today.
some might think it is way too off base with the drug problem that this girl faced.. but the point i got out of it is how important it is to help the person with the problem instead of walking away and expecting that ignorance will cure the problem.

This brings up a subject that we as parents had with our teenager just this past weekend. We asked our child what would he/she think if they had a drug or alcohol problem and went to a rehab facility for help and once they arrived the facility said that they could or would not help them. Once you get well, please come back to see us. He/she said that they would be shocked and that would not make sense. The point we were trying to make with him/her is that you don't reject people when they may need your help the most. We are getting our kids to think critically. Something we did not learn til later in life.
Like I once read here...."Jehovah's Witnesses, the only religion that shoots their wounded."

The elders came to talk about my facebook comment
by cookiemaster inso, not long ago i've told you guys how one of my only two jw friends saw my comment against the borg and called me about it.
well, the little fraker also called the elders to tell on me.
i know i've been a huge idiot for posting a comment about jw's on facebook, but nonetheless i did it and what's happened, happened.. two idiot elders came all the way from the nearest congo, 30 miles away to talk to me about it.

The Elders will drive how ever far to hang you from the highest limb. This is how this cult rolls. Maybe your parents are having underlying doubts themselves. If so...good for you.
A nice JW girl to marry? I don't think there are any nice JW's anywhere! lol
Rock on!!!!

"Normal family affections and dealings" continue - If only?!?
by LHS123 ini am new to this forum - it is only a couple of weeks since i have allowed myself to acknowledge and research my doubts.
i am trying to be fair by reading both sides of the story and considering jw official explanation of confusing matters.
one of the issues i have been looking at is shunning - and i was shocked to see the misleading information about shunning on the jw.org website: .

No matter how it is done, the disfellowshipping is unloving, unkind and no matter what they say Jesus would not have done it. I am so sorry for all of you on here that have had the shunning done to you. It hurt's no matter who you are. Hang in there you all...we are here for you. -

LHS123...the one thing the JW's do GREAT is talk out both sides of their mouths. They also say that they are the most loving group of people on the face of the planet. As a family, we know differently.
I know this may not be the case with every Circuit overseer but the majority walk around like little demi Gods. I have watched my entire life these "appointed by Holy Spirit" men act like God just spoke to them and sent them from above.
Ask your self this. In Ephesians 5:3 it says , " Let sexual immorality and every sort of uncleanness or greediness not even be mentioned among you, just as is proper for hole people." I find this scripture funny because it seems the JW's talk about Sex more than anyone else. See a pattern here? I have sat through meetings and assemblies and wanted to crawl under the seat because of some of the sexual acts being mentioned from the platform, while my little ones were listening.
Remember the figure of speech from Hamlet "The lady doth protest too much". It is a figure of speech to indicate that someones frequent attempts to convince others of something has helped to convince others that the opposite is true. That describes the JW's to a tee! It may also be described by the work Hypocrisy. This is the main reason we left then we learned TTATT and will NEVER go back!!!!!

When my kids were little I tried to avoid the crowded areas so my kids wouldn't get trampled. These people are so selfish and have the me first attitude. It's always fun to contain a fidgety active 2 year old for 3 days of sitting at a mind numbing assembly. I used to bring books and other stuff to entertain my kids. The dirty looks were amazing. Oh! If you had to get up and walk the fidgety/fussy 2 year old then you would get the "Please be seated" sign stuck in your face. I always wanted to leave the 2 year old with the Ass***** who would stick the sign in my face. I would love to see how the little dweeb handled the kid. lol -

"They 'thought' themselves out of the truth, and clearly they are living an unhappy life now!"
by stuckinarut2 inyep, these gems and comments were used in the talk today:.
speaking of ones who "failed to show appreciation for all the rich spiritual food we get from the f&ds", the speaker said this:.
"many have even failed to keep up with everything we are lovingly provided by christ's brothers, and rather than keeping their faith strong, they have become complacent and even critical ofjehovah's provisions!
