Governing Body Letter details things that "have never been done before." - Really?
by cappytan in[note: copy/pasted this with permission from reddit.].
once each year, the governing body writes a direct letter to the congregation members included in the yearbook.
in his annual message to the catholic faithful (urbi et orbi) delivered on christmas day, the pope spoke about world peace, terrorism, and the refugee crisis.

Great post Cappy. They are legends in their own minds. It's similar to their videos they produce. EVERYTHING has a happy ending. Sunshine and roses! -

tor1500 -Yes, it is different when you are the one in the hot seat. I have seen that before, many times.
My spouse and I were born in. We come from 2 very loving families (parents were very normal witnesses). We always thought that once we left the organization, we would be miserable. Not so. Just the opposite. Once we were away from all the critical people and all the judgement, we began to feel MUCH better.
We are watching the majority of our family (still ins) taking anti depressants and washing them down with booze. . But wait...they are part of the happiest people on earth. How come my spouse and I seem to be the only ones in the family with there sh** together? We should be miserable. Things that make you go....hmmm!

"The halls are just a smaller taste of what the world is really like. Backbiting, lying, adultery, you name it...it's in the org. "
You are correct with this statement BUT, when the men in the organization (Elders, MS's, CO's, even the Governing Body). These are the ones chosen by Jehovahs Holy spirit, correct? Jehovah chooses these ones to direct the sheep but some are living a double life. Would you hire any accountant that was well know to have major financial problems or fly on a airplane with a pilot who is known to have a major drinking problem? This is where the hypocrisy comes in. We are tired of hearing, "it's an imperfect organization, made up of imperfect men." I don't buy it anymore and never did. If these imperfect men are chosen by Jehovahs holy spirit, why are these ones cheating on their wives, cheating on their taxes, sending their children to college (a WT article once said that those ones sending their children to college lack faith). How can a man direct the congregation when he lacks faith? The hypocrisy is so blatant! You do get a cross section of people anywhere you go but these men are chosen by Jehovahs holy spirit. No Excuses for some of their actions!

Lovesjah
If you love Jah so much why are you on an evil website. Go to the Kingdom Hall and tell the Elders what site you are on. Maybe then you will feel the "real love" of your organization. This is why most of us left, the hypocrisy is unbelievable!

We experienced something similar to what dozy stated above. We had a few gatherings that we put together and they were always scrutinized by someone or someone would get offended because they weren't invited. Our home only holds so many people so we would try to invite some who didn't typically get invited to the "more distinguished" ones gatherings. Let's say we would try to mix it up. There was always something that happened, someone would get offended and it would get back to us. Eventually, we quit having gatherings. It just wasn't worth it anymore. We really don't miss it. We are using the money we would use for the gatherings to travel and enjoy our life. Goodbye judgement....hello enjoyment! -

JW Version Of Spring Cleaning
by JW_Rogue infrom the january study edition second study article paragraph 10:.
we can use the memorial season as an opportunity to look through our wardrobe, our movie and music collections, perhaps even the material stored on our computers, smartphones, and tablets.if i were going to a place where jesus would be present, would i feel uncomfortable wearing this clothing?if i did wear it, would it be obvious to all that i am a follower of christ jesus?would jesus be entertained by watching this movie or by listening to this music?
if he borrowed my cell phone or tablet, would i be embarrassed by what he saw there?as you consider the subject matter of a video game, ask yourself: would i find it difficult to explain to jesus why i enjoy playing it?

I did spring cleaning a few years ago. Got rid of all my meeting clothes. Thanks WT for the great pointers! As usual you have helped me tremendously! -

Harvesting of cash
by Nicholaus Kopernicus inin the wt handbill/invitation coloured brown, it clearly states "no collections" on the left and right sides of one of the pages.
however, on the newer and replacement handbill/invitation coloured blue/gray, reference to there being no collections is entirely absent.
i'm not sure if this is because of the present cash harvest or a sign that something even more direct may be under consideration at some time in the future.

Growing up I this cult, we were always proud of not passing a collection plate. Money was never even mentioned. My, how things have changed. Hmmmm! -

It's pathetic. Hopefully they will keep it up. I think it's making a lot of the rank and file question this tactic and the supposed Holy Spirit. -

You are right, no one really cares. It's a social club. There are certain groups that hang out together. If you have something to give to others, you're all good. Throw a gathering, with ones who love to drink and eat and you're a shoe in with most in the hall. Then there are a few that get jealous and have to open there big mouths and ruin it for everyone. We had that happen to us and eventually had enough of throwing gatherings. We had enough of everything JW and chose a better and happier life for our family. Cheers!
