well today was the big day.
we finally let the cat out of the bag to the in-laws about watchtower.
previously there were unknown rumors being spread about me and today i found out why the wife and i are being shunned.
It's funny how they think if you go to the memorial or assembly some magical "return to Jah" power will come over you and make you want to return. Funny!
Dubs put the cult over family. My spouse and I now realize that. As disturbing as that is....good riddance to em. Better off without them. Their lose. Sad but true.

i have been for the last couple weeks been studying religion.
i've learned the only ones who today do what the bible says to is jw.
Believer....Watchtower got caught with their pants down with the generation teaching. They HAD to change it when all the ones of that generation started dying. This was a MAJOR teaching and a MAJOR change. The light getting brighter is a JW way of saying....oops we screwed up. My spouse and I were born into this religion (we are not young either). The best advice we can give you is....RUN LIKE HELL. We did and thank goodness we did. Our life should be miserable, it's not. Happier than ever. I mean it...RUN AND RUN FAST!
recently, my mother's been hounding me to do personal study (i think she's slowly realizing i'm becoming disillusioned with the organization and is trying to reign me back in).
i don't know what made me do this, but i decided to test the waters by challenging 'new light'.
she asked me what i learned in personal study, so i brought up organ transplants and the wt flip floppy stance on them (thanks jwfacts!).
so i know one should remove his own stick from his own eye before ones self judges another, but i noticed something.
it seems that the wealthy witnesses are the elders, the circuit overseers, the governing body... are they really different from any other 'worldly' religions or even organizations?
i mean look at the jewels the friggen pope wears.
The GREATEST joy and satisfaction that we have received over the past 3 years of being out of this cult is....THEY ARE NOT AND NEVER WILL RECEIVE MONEY/OR TIME FROM US AGAIN. It really is a great feeling.

I don't care if someone has money...more power to them. I just don't like someone coming and telling me what is best for me and my family when they themselves may not be following things (JW rules and regulations) to a tee. I have wealthy "worldly" friends. They are kind, loving, generous and most importantly....non judgmental. They actually like us for who we are.
So... if you are educated, wealthy, run a business, live in a big house or whatever then it's all about how much you ministry you do, how your "spirituality" is perceived, what you do to be a proactive and reliable appointed man, how your wife and kids are perceived (note that perception and reality often differ), how useful you and/or business is to WTS goals, how well your face fits with the BoE, how wealthy the area and congregation you are in is and so on. The more boxes you tick the less attention is paid to your wealth."
Yes...you are correct on this one. It is all about appearances. "Spirituality" equals JW tasks. That is how you are accepted in this cult.

I don't speak of these ones I have observed out of jealousy but out of hypocrisy. I don't know if any of you remember a few years back at an assembly there was a very strong talk given titled, keep your eye simple. This was directed to those who pursue materialism (aka the more prominent brothers). There is also talks given bashing higher education. My point is, we have been advised by others (including the wealthy) that we have a lack of faith if we decide to put our children in college YET these "more prominent brothers" are ok to not keep that "simple eye." For me it is a matter of "what's good for the goose is good for the gander." It's a matter of blatant hypocrisy rather than jealousy. Hypocrisy is one of the main reasons my entire immediate family is OUT.
in the congregation bible study, the book addressed how "truth" is progressive.... 18 just as jehovah progressively revealed truths about the kingdom in the period leading up to 1914, he continues to do so during the time of the end.
as chapters 4 and 5 of this book will show, over the past 100 years, god’s people have had to adjust their understanding on a number of occasions.
does that fact mean that they do not have jehovah’s backing?

WT is really pushing things that are making people scratch their heads. They want you to blindly follow them and drink the kool aid. They want you to stay away from those who could "test your faith." Look closely, they are nervous about the number of people who are questioning, exiting and the massive amount of young ones not choosing this cult to follow. Donations are down and the future is bleak for them...follow the money!
looking back at this journey that my wife and i took this last year has been quite life changing.
who would have ever thought that two watchtower drones would experience an awakening after child loss?
we can finally move forward since coming out to our family that we will no longer be jehovah's witnesses.
Enjoy your freedom. Enjoy your wife. Enjoy your life. You both have been through a lot. You deserve it!
