We know of several family members (by marriage) that give the most glowing comments. They are all hopped up on prescription meds and booze. Their kids are more screwed up than the average "worldly" person. It is actually a joke in our family.

by Isambard Crater inof the 50% of congregants who regularly participate, many of them give gushing answers about how appreciative they are, how wonderful jw.org is and so on, which makes me think nobody in my congregation is awake.
but maybe it's possible for someone who comes across as super spiritual to be awake?
i can't see how, though, as surely it's emotionally draining to fake it like that?

So if the Elders treat other Elders (one's who have stepped down) with such lack of love and concern, how do the Elders treat the average publisher?
I'm not sure if anyone caught it in the Bunker video but it was said, "our message has changed to a message of judgement." This is what I feel this has come down to. I guess their true colors are shining through.
We were on the Elders radar until we stopped turning time in. We left without a word and have not shared anything with anybody. We had one Elder who was on a full out witch hunt. The only thing he wanted was us OUT. That was his main goal, to get us OUT. We never gave him the satisfaction and never will.
It's a man made organization that I compare to the scripture..."whitewashed graves full of dead mens bones."
If this is the true religion and I loose my life over it, I choose a lifetime dirt nap over spending eternity with these destructive, abusive and cruel people.

The 2 witness rule does need to be changed BUT what floors me is that according to the Elders rule book, an elder that has molested a child in the past can become an Elder again (if some time has passed and he is in good standing). This is unbelievable! They will actually put one of these monsters in a position of authority again.

Shunning via Rumor

my daughter's best friend amanda was getting married, and despite my trepidation, amanda had begged me to show up and to dance a dance with her.
my trepidation was twofold; first, my ex-wife was going to be there, and after our messy divorce only six months ago, i had no desire to be anywhere where she was.

What a wonderful story. So sorry the self righteous JW's shunned you. They really are good at it. You're ex wife sounds like a real winner. She showed her true colors. You really sound like a great guy and you have a fantastic disposition. Congrats on your upcoming wedding. We have been out for 4 years and never happier.

i live in the u.k, was born in, fell away as an unbaptised publisher, got baptised in my 30s for reasons i'm retrospectively unsure of, and lost my faith about five years ago around the time of the original a.r.c.
now, being unable to leave is making me physically, emotionally and mentally ill.. i have been visiting this forum for a couple of years and wanted to post my first message to see if anyone has attended, heard or watched the zone visit broadcast thing happening this month?

Talked to a JW at a literature stand today
by nevermind inguys,.
i need your help in trying to wrap my head around this strange experience i had today talking with a jw lady sitting at a literature table in a busy outdoor shopping center.. i'm a very shy person, but i always wanted to ask these jws at their literature stands questions to start them thinking about the validity of watchtower teaching.
i finally mustered my strength today to talk to this jw lady.

You will get more accomplished if you go to the nearest wall and bang your head over and over again, then trying to reason with JW's. I don't even try to reason with some family members anymore, it's just not worth the frustration. I have better things to do, like enjoying a beautiful sunset walk with my spouse.
