within the organization, jehovah's witnesses know that they must be dutiful and set an example for "worldly ones" as well as for their own brotherhood.

if a witness fails in setting the proper example, they may lose some 'privileges"..... what privileges did you look to have and what privileges did you lose?

We were always taught at the KH the all "privileges" are equal and important to Jah.

Okay? My spouse lost his "privileges" due to not quite hitting the unwritten/unscriptual WT rule about the national average...10 hours. He lost, reading the WT, holding a mic, running the sound and praying. BUT...his "privileges" of cleaning the toilets, cleaning the KH, taking the speaker to dinner, giving the CO a green handshake (even thought these assh*les wouldn't give em the time of day). Then there was the "privileges" of cleaning the assembly hall, making hoagies at 4am (back in the day).

I'm sure you all get my drift. "All privileges are special in Jahs eyes." Yeah....right! Another load of BS from WT!

so it's not enough that i'm dealing with post traumatic stress/anxiety and panic attacks all related to my life as a jw (50 years baptized -- i stopped going a couple of months ago) at 3 a.m. i get an email from the other side of the world.

'you have to go to the convention.

Amen to dogon's post above. Exactly right! WT has used this tactic since the beginning of time (Wash, rinse, repeat). They use it because it works! They are desperate! They are scrambling because things are falling apart on them. They may not disappear but their numbers are reducing and so is their cash.

Most of our family knows we are out. They know we don't attend anymore but have decided not to address it with us. Why not? It's our very life that is at stake here! I'll tell you why...they know it is BS!

Keep up the fear WT, it may be the only thing you have left!

Phoebe...remember we were always taught not to fear MEN. Well WT is just that....MEN. Remember they are not inspired or infallible. In laymans terms..."we don't get voice messages, texts or emails from God and we F up." Hang in there and don't let these asshats get under your skin. Hugs!

My spouse told me once the magnificent 7 got settled in Warwick we would begin to see them do and say some crazy sh@t. We think that this is just the beginning. They have been writing some things in the rags for quite some time, preparing the rank and file for "new light." These guys are slick and narcissistic. A narcissist will NEVER admit mistakes or apologize for anything. It will ALWAYS be the other guys fault. They will never change.

I agree with FedUpJW above. My spouse and I read quite a bit last night on a subject...gaslighting. Very interesting. The tactics of WT are spot on. They only want the "most loyal" and they will get it with most JW's BUT there are a lot of people who are just remaining in this cult so they do not loose their social network and family.

JW's will say..."it was a sifting work." Yeah....sift out all the smart ones. Sad but true.

i didnt answer because he's actively shunning me and when he does ring it always to preach to me about how we're so close to the end and how i should "humble myself before the mighty hand of god" .

he then texts me saying "we need to talk".

This is happifying. What this shows us is, WT is hearing a lot about failed phophecy. Yes, they did push the 1975 thing. Our family was there at the time and will back it up. Not only did they blame others, they made sure they used the resurrection weapon. This is what keeps so many going back. Waiting on Grandma, Grandpa, mom, dad, kids and friends to return. It is a powerful weapon that works on most who have endured loosing a loved one.It is the only tool I think WT has left. These are desperate times for WT and it shows. Look at their theme for the 2017 RC...Don't Give Up? Really?
