What is the biggest regret or source of resentment because of being a Jehovahs Witness?
by stuckinarut2 ini'm sure we could all write long paragraphs about this question, but in a few words, what is your biggest regret, or frustration in life due to being a witness?.
what missed opportunities did it cost you?

That we trusted that these people (JW friends/family) had our best interests at heart and cared for us. Shame on us for thinking this way. -

Consequences of staying on the recommended Hotel list
by Samaritan At the Well ini wanted to share an experience i had and see if anyone else had encountered this same matter.
we always tried to make an extra effort to ensure we stood on the approved hotel lists when going to our special day conventions or district conventions or what they now call regional.
we use to stay many nights a year and i would save up my hotel points to use at a later time.. i remember checking in at popular chain hotel and asked the hotel clerk how many points would i earn for the 3 night stay?

Membership has it's privileges!
We have witnessed this all our lives. The rank and file gets treated like the cattle.
If you are not a Elder, CO, Bethelite, Pioneer or a GB member you are nothing.
The thing that "upper management" forgets is who pays the bills. That will be the downfall of this organization!
Vote with your feet & Wallet!!! We have! Yippie!!!!

7starz & Samaritan at the Well.
Your posts are going to be so exciting to read.
We left this crazy religion together. It is a wonderful thing to be on the "same page". I think of the ones on here that have to deal with their mate remaining in this organization. It has to be so tough. I think of these ones often.
I loved how 7starz mentioned that he was referred to as the white tiger. I would see so many things throughout my life. Just simple things that a lowly rank and file member observed (from some of the elders) and I would think "why don't the Elders say or do something". Most of the Elders would just turn their head and move on. I KNOW if I was an Elder, I would not last long at all. I would also be a white tiger.
I would sit at the assemblies and watch some of the speakers and wonder, "how does that brother REALLY feel?" Is he on board with all of this or is he just going through the motions. I don't know how some of them do it. I couldn't.
My mate and I have enjoyed our journey but also have been careful due to family that is still in.
We enjoy the sunsets much more now. No more guilt in this family!!!
We can't wait to hear more from you both. Enjoy your sunsets!!

If the Watchtower Society was given a cheque for 1 million dollars would they cash it ?
by Esse quam videri inif the watchtower society received an envelope containing a cheque for 1 million dollars, made out to the society, along with a letter explaining that the money was won from gambling, either casino or lottery, .
1] would they cash it?.
2] if they did not cash it but rather returned to sender, what explanation would they give?.

They would cash it in a heart beat! No explanation needed. Remember...this is the same organization who refused to present documents when a court order was issued by a court of Law. -

Welcome. We loved your story! We have recently joined (lurked for quite a while). Born ins as well.
Crisis of Conscience is a real eye opener!
The one thing that excites us about your story (and others on here) is that so many as they call them, "uber dubs" seem to be joining and deciding to leave. So happified!
We were NEVER "uber dubs". Something has ALWAYS not felt right. Once we started reading the threads on this website and read Crisis of Conscience all the pieces started to come together. Once it all started to come together for us, it would make our skin crawl to attend any meetings or assemblies.
I think what did it for us was the complete lack of love. There is other things as well (a very long list) but the lack of love was the straw that broke the camels back for us.
We have made our exit as a team (taking our children with us). We have enjoyed the freedom. No more conditional friends and mind numbing meetings/assemblies. No more wearing ties and ankle length skirts!!
We look forward to hearing more from you in the future.
Keep smiling and ENJOY every day!!!! It's a beautiful life!!!

OMG - January JW Broadcast - be sure to only talk to people who think like you
by bafh ini couldn't stand it.
it was so horrible.
they really want people to stay simple and obedient.

I wish they would broadcast this one at the KH. I would love to be a fly on the wall and watch all the Elders who have their kids in college skwirm in their seats. Then the ones who's kids are "pursuing Kingdom interests", can glare at the ones who are in college or have their kids in college. It's so fun to watch!!!
Lurking Elders..if you have your kids in college that is GREAT (I'm all for it) but don't raise your hand during the anti college Watchtower lesson or even worse read the WT. We've seen this and it doesn't set well within the congregation.
The spiritual competition is unreal!!!!

Amen _Morpheus! That is EXACTLY what I would do. In our case, they could care less about you until you leave. Once you leave they will call you a couple of times a year, when the CO comes around. You are just a check box on their to do list. Can you feel the love?
