Oh man...I know how you feel. I have a over zealous family member. When they write anything to me it sounds like I'm reading a Watchtower. Makes me sick! They are probably putting in some time. lol
does any other fader who maintains a minimal connection to preserve family ties have this issue:.
i post something on ig, facebook whatever.
and from my super zealous family i get preachy posts.

i have been observing a pattern in recent wtbs publications and events.
is the importance of the preaching activity no longer the number 1 priority?
are not billions of lives still at stake?.

The Daily text for Wednesday, February 4, 2015 ends with a very interesting sentence.
The responsibility of the faithful and discreet slave includes overseeing material assets, the preaching activity, assembly and convention programs, and the production of Bible literature. w13 7/15 4:13, 1
What stood out to me was the order of importance the writer chose to list the responsibilities. Starting with the number 1 priority, overseeing material assets, then number 2 was the preaching work.
During the LDC meeting January 31, 2015, which included over 100,000 Elders in attendance. The US Branch introduced a new Kingdom Hall Design and a new construction program. During the presentation a part regarding Kingdom Hall Maintenance was presented. The point was stressed throughout this part of how important it for you to participate in taking care of your Kingdom Hall. The Org. will be sending maintenance trainers to each K.H. and teach everyone locally on how to properly maintain Watchtower assets, I mean Jehovah’s house. When you help out with cleaning, maintenance, landscaping, etc…, It was stated that this work was part of your “Sacred Service” to Jehovah. My question. Can I now count my field service time while maintaining the K.H.? Why not, the RBC allowed certain ones to count time while working on past construction projects.
Next observation was during Steven Lett’s part (2:30).
He highlighted 5 key points. 5 ways we can have a fuller share
1.) Endeavor to simplify your life, to become available full time (if possible) to work with the LDC arrangement (notice he was not stating to pioneer or spend more time in field service).
2.) Need our support personally. Encourage others to participate as well.
3.) Generously contribute monetarily. In harmony with our circumstances.
4.) Continue to Preach without let up.
5.) Pray for Jehovah’s continued rich blessing upon these exciting adjustments that are being implemented.
I am glad to see preaching still made it on the list. Out of the top 5 ways to have a fuller share, preaching was 4 and Prayer made the list at number 5.
I might be making a mountain out of a mole hill. However, these are my observations. The WTBS seems to be more concerned with these other activities and to keep the rank and file busy. Hey and the added bonus, you can still count your time since this is part of your “Sacred Service”.
These are my thoughts, I would love to hear your views.
been away from the site for a few days...because i have been busy getting these!!!!!!
(pixel, thank you!
) they did not make it easy, plus technical difficulties.. for the main attraction:.
I watched as much as I could, then I decided to do something productive with my day. What I did see was a sales pitch. I fast forwarded it to the end when Lett was on. I needed a good laugh. What a freak!
One question (sarcasm)....where was the question and answer segment that usually comes at the end of a sales pitch? That's right...listen, obey and shut up! Oh yeah...give us all your money too!
i've been out of the religion for a little while now but my family is still "strong in the truth".
i got a call today asking if i could stop by to have a discussion.
they just had their circuit assembly and this is typically when they decide to talk to me, while they're spiritually energized hah.
i believe the average rank & file are illiterate when it come to the bible because they are so used to using the wbats cliff notes... even though i believe the bible is a fiction novel, at least be able to explain a novel you hold is such high regard: i mean jesus!!!

I ALWAYS loathed bible games. Ugh!!!!
i didn't go to the prom but i did belong to a chess club until the awake article said it was a war game and suggested true christians wouldn't play such a game.
This religion always reminded me of the movie Footloose, where the Dad (the town Preacher) would not allow a dance or rock music in the town.
I experienced this in the 1980's, where Elders felt that any get together was going to result in fornicating or partying and drinking. Most of the kids just wanted to have fun with their friends. Alot left and found their fun elsewhere.

No...I didn't. I wasn't allowed. My kids will do the things I wasn't allowed to experience.
there has been more than a few posts about anthony morris iii and his talk about tight pants, spanx (spandex?
) and bethel as a destination vacation.. after the initial bewilderment and laughing about his diatribe, it is more clear to me that this was not about modest clothing choices, or spiritual priorities.. it was designed and succeeded as a slap in the face of all who listened.. the things he talked about are just not on the normal radar of anyone who listened.. i can recall nowhere in writing that ever encouraged families to go to bethel before disneyworld, mgm, etc; nowhere that talks about leggings or modern cut men's suits (it is just fashion, after all), or women wearing exercise clothing in public.
(on a side note, i have been to assemblies, there are just not many of us who could wear tight clothing and not look like stuffed sausage, so how many people was he aiming at here?).

The General Public is turned off by the Building? Ha
Hello JW's...maybe it has something to do with the Internet and all the Truths about the Truth you find when you Google Jehovahs Witnesses!
just wanted to say thank you to all of you for everything over the last 3.5 years.
i am completely faded now.
i no longer suffer from major anxiety/depression, well versed on cults and how to protect myself, continually searching and taking in knowledge regarding my own relationship with god.
