Today's Special Day Assembly Expenses and the $10,499 Deficit. Silent Majority?
by Tenacious intoday i attended a one-day assembly in my hometown.
i knew when it came time to read the afternoon expenses that it would be an incredibly high and ridiculous amount that was nowhere near the real expenses for that day.
sure enough, after lunch came the announcement.

The beautiful thing about this is, they will NEVER get another cent from us! -

We have not attended in 3 years so we don't really know. My 2 cents is people are only staying in due to family relations and the socializing in the org. The best revenge for so many is hitting the WT in the pocketbook. We think all the money grabbing and begging (May broadcast) is starting to backfire. Oh yeah! -

The Spiritual Man According to WTBTS

Bottom line...there is nothing special about the Jehovah"s Witnesses anymore. They aren't even Jehovah"s Witnesses anymore...just JW's (JW.org). These people seem to be into "selfies" ("look at me, look at me!") and as someone called it "spiritual competition." We were born into this religion and it seemed in the 80's we were all in this together. You know...the small town feel or the Mom & Pop shop (the good ole days). I don't know anymore, maybe we were just in cult mode. I just don't know! It seemed special back then. Now...it just seems like any other religion. Follow the money. Sad but true! Just no substance anymore. What the hell happened?
The 80's? This is when the Ray Franz thing happened. Has it been crap all along or has the Internet blown it wide open? Give me your feedback everyone...I can't figure it out.

They keep the drones so busy, they don't have time to think.
We have mentioned some perks to a family member regarding some of the "perks" these members receive from the rank and file. It is just dismissed as, "well, Brothers and Sisters that have businesses, such as jewelry businesses give these members gifts."
There is no reasoning with some. They are so amazed by these men. Like the pope! They can do NO WRONG.

RAY FRANZ TODAY
by Scott77 inits has been almost two decades if i am correct since ray franz released the heartbreaking books: "crisis of conscience" and "in search of christian freedom".
since then, many of us have been released from bondage of the wts and set free.
by the way, where is ray franz today, what is he doing?

We think and talk about Ray Franz quite a bit. He, to this day, is having an incredible impact on people leaving this terrible cult. Even though he passed away, he is speaking from the grave with is informative books. You rock Ray!
We often wonder if there may someday be another Ray Franz. It would be awesome for one of the GB members or high up member to spill the beans on what is really happening in Crooklyn. Maybe someone out there has a flash drive with lots of juicy tidbits. Wishful thinking, huh?

Gayle. Yes I noticed the seats. Those chairs have no arm rests either. They look very narrow too. Sitting for 2 hours in those chairs would be uncomfortable. Maybe this is a new tactic to keep everyone from falling asleep?

For Those of You Who Still Serve... How Do You Do It?
by Kingdom Evader innew here... been lurking for some time now.... i still serve... but with each passing day, it gets harder and harder.
i'm slowly... slowly working on my wife (i call her mrs. hardcore) and even my m-i-l (who taught my wife how to be hardcore).

Welcome Kingdom Evader!
Never been a servant (thank God).
I don't know how you do it! I couldn't! I have wondered many times, how many Brothers serving are just going through the motions.
We left (as a family) about 3 years ago but had these nagging doubts for soooo long. We are both born ins. It was hard for us to "fake it" but it must be excruciating to those still serving.
Hang in there. Move slow. Keep us posted.
You will find a lot of great kind and loving people here that are or have been through similar situations.

Are you angry for having been a JW?
by Half banana ini remember seeing the ex-jws parading around outside the assembly like lepers holding placards of hate.
we were the righteous and enlightened ones... and they were lost in outer darkness.
just dont look at them was the standard response to their unwelcome presence..

Heck yeah...I am angry. Not enough to picket at an assembly. Just angry on how family has been treated over the years. The abuse issue really gets to me. How they have affected so many lives over the years. You want to scream from the highest mountain, "get out of her my people (ironic huh?)."
I am angry on how they treat people (really good people) that don't have "positions" in the congregation. I have met some of the most kind/loving brothers who never reached out and they treat them as is they are not worthy of breathing the same air as them. It is so wrong!
I also have witnessed so many that gave so much to the organization (no education) that are paying dearly for not getting an education. They are struggling financially. They have pioneered, served at Bethel, etc., and they have no nest egg to fall back on. They were told they would not need it. I won't allow my children to follow the same path.
Don't get me started on the shunning. How can that be a loving provision from Jehovah? Really? Turning your back on your family and friends when they need you the most? It should be considered a hate crime!
I wish that I could have lived a normal life. I really felt kinda like a freak all throughout my childhood. I don't want my kids to feel that way.
So much damage has been done by a selfish and greedy cult disguised as a religion.
Rant over.

Just lost one more friend
by paradisebeauty ini used to talk weekly on skype, with a sister from another country.
i didn't tell her much about my research and change of beliefs, until today ... in the conversations some doctrines came up and i told her i don't believe 1914, first, then i went on to tell her that i also don't believe there are 2 classes of christians, that i did not believe the government of the kingdom will be in heaven while the kingdom en earth, that i believe the whole kingdom will be on earth, and that from what i read, jesus was pretty clear that he will come back to earth, visibly.
the "god always had an organization" dogma was dropped and i told her it is not true, out of 9000 years of human history, it's not sure there were 1000 years when god had a loyal organization ..... i did not plan to tell her all this things, but it just happened, and things came up in the conversation... and once i dropped one bomb i dropped them all .... she said i do not sound like i am one of the jehovah's witnesses any more ... and even though we ended the call with "see ya" i have the feeling i will not hear from her any more ... .

It is sad. Very sad. To loose a friend is painful. Unfortunately, she was not really your friend. Friends give you unconditional love.
I have several "friends" that do not know that I no longer attend or believe in the JW belief system. I have tried to prepare myself for the day when they are aware of this. I am sure that I will cry a few tears and I will feel awful that I lost them but I will realize that they really were not my friends if they no longer want me around. I was fully aware of this fact before I made me exit. My spouse and I went through the "what if's" before we left.
Hang in there. Hugs to you!
