JW Child Abuse Documentary
by cappytan inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulswb2avxvc.
let's set aside our differences for the moment and appreciate this excellent documentary cedars put together that should prove to be an invaluable tool in helping to expose the child abuse issues in the organization.. i was humbled to be able to help with this project on such an important subject, though my part in it was insignificant..

How did you feel when they eliminated the Con. Book Study?
by Freeandclear inyears ago when i was "in" i loved the book study.
it was my favorite meeting by far.
mainly because it was a small group.

We wish they had eliminated the TMS instead. The most boring meeting. The Book study was actually somewhat enjoyable. We had a fun group.
What shocked us the most was the letter that was read to all congregations. They stated that they did not want to burden the brothers and sisters. We were always taught that this was our "go to" place, in case of emergency. We were told it was as important as any of the other meetings. Now it was a burden? hmmm
Funny how when the BS was on it was important but then when they decided to eliminate it, it was a burden. How convenient.

Could we ever see a GB member disassociate?
by pleaseresearch inwe saw it with raymond franz.
but do you think we could ever see one of the current gb members or future ones, make the same choice?.
to leave, and expose it..
-

They had to get rid of Ray, he (in their opinion) was a Troublemaker. They will do the same today. If you start talking, they will "get rid of you." Unless you have money to give them or know where all the bodies are buried. -

Every Know Anyone Too "Weak" To Wake Up?
by freemindfade ina jw that is probably irregular, they don't really attend meetings, they are not up on anything going on, they may even seem like they are faded but they are not, they are just slackers.
a jw that is impervious to the f.o.g.
(ok maybe it bums them, but they are too lazy and self serving to do otherwise).

Not so much weak but frightened. -

ADVANCED WARNING - April 18th to 24th WT Study
by Nicholaus Kopernicus infebruary 2016 study watchtower"prove yourself loyal to jehovah" - week of april 18th to 24th"15. if a brother treats us unfairly, how should we react?
15 in congregations of jehovah’s people today, it is very unlikely that we would be treated unjustly.
however, those taking the lead among us are imperfect men and could misinterpret our actions.

So the rank and file are just supposed to roll over and think..."well the Elders are just imperfect men."
BUT (A BIG BUT) when we make a mistake (remember, we are imperfect too), we are tarred and feathered. Total BS!
This cult is despicable!

THE SHADOW OF 75 still hangs over us all . . .
by Terry infew of your are old enough to have been there, i suspect.
i had been in prison two years as a jw conscientious objector when the exciting news about 1975 spread like wildfire.. .
i was paroled from prison in 1969 and immediately began pioneering.

Wow Terry, that is a very powerful post. I was little when 75 happened so I don't remember much. It's interesting to hear it from someone who was there.
What an impact all of that must have had on your life. I am so sorry to hear about your wife, that is tragic. Also, you having to go to prison. Wow. I am truly sad and sorry you have been through all of this. You must be a very strong man. I admire your strength.

Do the GB want the JW religion to fail?
by Grey Goose inbasically what the thread title says.. do you guys think the gb want the jw religion to fail?
of course failing in the ultimate sense is just not going to happen.
no matter how bankrupt they went, there is always going to be a percentage that holds on.. but downsizing the membership?

We think they want a smaller/loyal group of people. We believe they want all the "fence sitters" gone. We were fence sitters and we are long gone. They want the most loyal of subjects. No troublemakers allowed! -

Welcome jehobi!
Thank you for sharing. You will find most on here are caring and want to help. We have all been there and experienced what you are going through.
It's sad that a family can cut you off once you leave. I can't imagine EVER cutting my family off for not believing the same way I/we do. This is how they are conditioned. I think you have to be a certain kind of person to remain in this cult.
Glad to hear you are moving on with your life. Tell us more about yourself.
