Awww, you "love and miss us"? Really? Then why ignore us?
by stuckinarut2 inso we received the obligatory "shoved under the door" memorial invitation and "return to jehovah" brochure the other week.
it also had a hand written note from two elders saying "we love and miss you" etc.... so why then when one of them saw us at the grocery store, did he pretend to not see us and then ignore and quickly walk away?.
the sincerity is wonderful..... dont get me wrong, we dont want any attention from them, but it's an interesting observation anyway.....

Skills Questionnaire Instructions
by pixel inskills questionnaire instructions.
1. there is an urgent need to locate exemplary brothers and sisters who possess certain skills or work experience and who are available to offer their services on a broader scale to help support the theocratic expansion work taking place worldwide.
for example, skilled brothers are needed to assist with large-scale theocratic construction projects, computer-related projects, audio/video projects, and the increasing translation work.

"Please note that we are not encouraging anyone to pursue higher education or university degrees to obtain certain skills"
Translation: We are not encouraging anyone to pursue higher education, we want TO USE brothers and sisters who already possess the skills we need for "theocratic projects."

Did you participate in a Drama?
by Hecce ini am bringing this up because even it was a lot of work, for the majority of the friends this was a rewarding experience.
camaraderie, joking, costumes, props and when the time came the celebrity status of being in the drama.. back in the 50s and 60s, conventions could be as long as 8 days and from about 1966 the dramas became an integral part of the program.
we had one per day and the brothers looked forward to their presentation.

Nah...we were never "spiritual" enough to be in a drama. Only good enough to take the speaker to dinner, clean the KH and scrub toilets. We were ok for those priviledges. -

out for a long time
by Sledracer inmy husband and i have been out for a long time, maybe fifteen years, i must say we are in a bit of a nowhere land spiritually, we find it impossible to attend any other church.
we really resent so much of how they messed up our and our children's lives.
we can't get back all those 25 years we were in.

They are still DF'ing people. It's an abusive cult. No disrespect but why would you want to go back into an abusive relationship? -

So many on this forum have been right where you are. It has been good for me to hear how others have handled their situations.
Be thankful that you are young and got out early. Is your entire family in the org?

I like to compare it to Facebook. How many people on Facebook show pictures of themselves when they 1st get up in the morning or pictures of them at the dentist, having a filling filled? None! Everyone posts pictures with make up on and hair fixed. NO ONE wants everyone to see the "ugly side" of them, therefore, they post #BESTLIFEEVER. Like they say....what is the REST of the story?

My spouse and I have been talking recently about just this situation. We compared it to dominos falling. When one falls, so begins the continuation of many dominos falling.
How many more couples like corruptgirl and Sanchy are out there doubting the org. One domino hitting another. It may not be a huge downfall but it may make many still ins ask the question..."where is so and so and his family?"
We know there are many out here struggling with uber families (we are too) and it is frustrating but keep the hope that one day a domino may fall. Everyone faces different challenges and struggles and you never know when an uber dubs situation changes and that dominos falls. Let's hope so!
